30th January 2023 at 6:09 pm #203467Cancelo to Bayern on loan?! Whatβs Pep thinking with that one? City fans, any idea?
Ed.I heard they had a row last friday after Pep told him he wasn’t in the squad for the Arsenal cup tie.
TBF Cancelo was brilliant last season. This season he’s been nowhere near last season’s form.
He even lost his place in the national team to Dalot at the WCIn Pep I trust π

30th January 2023 at 6:13 pm #203468Yeah banjo canβt get my head around that, they let zinchenko go because he couldnβt get much starts ahead of cancelo.
Pep doesn’t want to keep players.Unless they want to stay.Or the buying club agrees the selling price.Zinny wanted more first team football.
No news about any new left back to cityβ¦maybe mendy coming back π
Miaoooooooooooow a saucer of milk on it’s way lucky π

Nah benfica not taking the piss they doing it right imo
They bought him for Β£14M last summer. He’s played 17 games for Benfica (1 goal 5 assists)
Transfermarket rate him at 55M euros.Whoever inserted that release cause of Β£105M is taking the piss.Simple as that._____________________________

30th January 2023 at 6:44 pm #203471Shocks of the market; purely because I don’t think anybody could see this coming.
Top Top Player and one I admire; astute and linked especially well with Ruben Dias.
We’ve been speaking about on the other thread the thought of balancing the books. I would have it would be Silva that would head out of the exit door than Cancelo.
Best of Luck to the guy.

30th January 2023 at 6:57 pm #203472Why are Benfica taking the piss having his release clause so high? If he was happy to sign for them with that release clause, he or anyone else can’t then moan about it. He should be thankful there’s a release clause at all. Look at when Kane tried to leave Spurs and couldn’t. They can set his release clause whatever they like as he’s their player. He doesn’t want it, don’t sign the contract with Benfica, simple.
Absolutely crazy money being spent by Chelsea. Don’t want to hear any moaning on here from the Chelsea fans about injuries now π

30th January 2023 at 7:49 pm #203478Paul, in Spain and I think maybe Portugal too, all contracts are required by law to have release clauses. The amount is negotiated between player and club and the clubs job is to negotiate the highest price possible for obvious reasons, but it’s not as though it is dictated.

30th January 2023 at 7:56 pm #203479Don’t want to hear any moaning from Chelsea (or City for that matter!)… full stop!!!
City just ignore the rules and hire expensive lawyers to get them off on technicalities and Chelsea take the piss so much UEFA have to keep changing the rules because of them… it’s like the Gerrard/Lmpard who is better debate, but it’s the who’s done more to ruin football in this country debate… π

30th January 2023 at 8:05 pm #203480Thanks for the explanation Lucky (I had no idea it was req by law) When City decided not to offer Segio Aguero a new contract a few years ago.He went to Barca on a free. They slapped a 100M euro release clause on him.

Bit rich Ed considering you waved the white flag as soon as just Casimero was suspended for the Arsenal game.π

30th January 2023 at 8:37 pm #203483I don’t think I’ve mentioned injuries once this season Nine despite horrible luck with them all season. Didn’t once mention Casemiro after the result either. All I said before was that I fancied us until he got suspended. Teams at our level shouldn’t be using injuries as an excuse and it wasn’t an excuse from me. I was merely stating that going away to the top of the league without him made it tougher than I was expecting but we all get injuries. Just have to deal with it.
