28th January 2020 at 11:06 am #62301Anonymousjanssen (like soldado) was actually a very decent footballer, was just useless in front of goal (like soldado) which isnt great for a striker. love how many players careers have ended on the back of signing for spurs.

28th January 2020 at 1:04 pm #62311Inter sign Eriksen. Great player but he’s been gone at Spurs for a while.

28th January 2020 at 1:20 pm #62314Eriksen signs for Inter. I don’t know what to make of it really. I’m very pretty sure Inter wasn’t his first choice, but he gets paid better than he did at Spurs, and he’s probably more likely to win a national title of some sort.
Through the years he just always spoke of his admiration for the Spanish league and Barcelona in particular, so in some ways him going to Inter is somewhat underwhelming. It feels like a sidestep to me. And Serie A is just not as good a league as the PL. Hopefully it’ll turn out good for him and he’ll get back to form.
I just read on TT that Woody wants to bring Sanchez back to United. The madness never ends. A 31 year old flop on wages high enough to buy a continent. Why? Just why?

28th January 2020 at 1:38 pm #62320If you examine Eriksen’s career, he had the opportunity to leave Ajax sooner than he did I think, but felt it wiser to stay and develop more. When Spurs came in for him, he probably saw them as a kind of Dortmund club who were sensibly run, the way they built the club upwards and obviously had stability and a good coach. However, just when Spurs should have taken the next step up, they didn’t. And Eriksen is obviously disappointed at that to say the least, and is now desperate to be at a big club who are going places and will take whatever he can, particularly whilst he’s at his peak.

28th January 2020 at 2:51 pm #62336Finally, thanks for the memories and good luck…
So, 2 players in and Lo Cecil now a permanent signing and plenty of rumors about at least one more showing up before the end of the week.
All we need is to get rid of Danny-boy and I would say that’s been a pretty good window for us Spuds.

29th January 2020 at 8:09 am #63484That’s a great signing by utd.
Exactly what they need. A goal threat and a bit of creativity from midfield.

29th January 2020 at 8:40 am #63528Let’s wait and see. It is still not complete and he has to prove himself before we start hailing it as a great signing. Mkhitaryan anyone? Very similar type of signing and he flopped big time for both Utd and Arsenal. Signs are good but wait and see. Interesting that Poch was chasing him in the summer…

29th January 2020 at 8:50 am #63542Good point Ed about Miki. A lot will depend on how Utd supplement him. I’ve not seen much of him but I’m guessing you cannot expect too much defensive work from him. So you need midfielders that can do the dirty work, maybe McTom for defensive positioning and Fred for the leg work?
What will this mean for Pogba? In fact where is he? I have an image of him in somewhere like Miami, sipping cocktails laying on his lilo whilst occasionally (every 30 seconds) checking his Instagram account.

29th January 2020 at 8:59 am #63552That’s about right for Pogba Threeps. I think you’re right about him, McTominay and Fred being the main 3 with Pogba moving on, which I am fine with. Pogba should add a decent fee to the kitty anyway. I honestly don’t think we’d let him go for under £100mil, regardless of his actual worth. Real are probably stupid enough to pay it
