maverick, PSG bidding 170m for SMS is just paper talk mate. They won’t buy anyone in January imo without they move players out to find it.

23rd December 2017 at 10:16 pm #9722Clearly i have to agree with Wise-fan. We need another striker when Morata isn’t available. Hazard as a false 9 don’t work with teams that play physical. The only way to break Everton today was to put long crosses in to the box for a striker to attack. And we never had a presence in the box. Also i was disappointed with Zapacosta whose cross was woeful today.

24th December 2017 at 2:16 pm #9796Maverick, as I said in an earlier post mate imo PSG wont be able to sign anyone until they sell and it will take an awful lot of sales to create a fund of Β£170m.
Plus they have to raise the same to fund the Mbappe fee in the Summer having already spent circa Β£200m on Neymar.
The Mars Bars are on me if SMS joins PSG in January.?

24th December 2017 at 2:19 pm #9797CMan, do we need another striker to understudy Morata or another striker to play with and compliment Morata?
I think at the very least if might be a bit of both which will require a quality signing which imo will be tough to pull off in January.
But here’s hoping.?

24th December 2017 at 2:33 pm #9801βThe Times report that Chelsea have found a short-term successor to SD Michael Emenalo , with Scott McLachlan β who is the clubβs head of international scouting β now having a greater say in the recruitment process. McLachlan is working closely with Granovskaia and is already drawing up transfer plans for the January window, with the Blues heavily linked with a move for Bayer Leverkusen starlet Leon Bailey.
Chelsea are currently reviewing their management structure and will look to identify a permanent replacement for Emenalo β which could be McLachlan.
McLachlan will work alongside Granovskaia as they make January transfer plans.
That process will not be swift, however, and Chelsea are not expected to make an announcement on a new technical director until after this season. Emenalo was also credited with acting as peace maker between Antonio Conte and the clubβs board, with the Italian clashing with the board over targets, and McLachlan will presumably need to placate Conte in much the same way.β ???

28th December 2017 at 2:26 pm #10264Chelsea are being linked with a number of attacking midfielders. one of them is Carrasco from Athletico Madrid. i think that is one good option that we can do with January. he can score as well as create plus he can dribble past players. imagine him and and Hazard supporting Morata? he will take alot of pressure of Hazard. another attacking midfielder that we are being linked is Thomas Lemar from Monaco. well i have to say its difficult to pull this one off. but one trick we can use to do the deal with them and loan him back to Monaco for the remainder of the season and get him in the summer. but that said, extending the contracts of Hazard and Courtois plus coming to some sort of agreement with Conte will also be a very good boost. plus getting Sandro to be an upgrade to Alonso defensively also allows us to play in back four. if we get all those deals done. we can once again look to get Fabregas like midfielder, preferably Isco. our central defence is very much sorted.

I would take him with my eyes closed. we need attacking midfielders from wide area who can score from wide areas. City has that with Sterling and Sane. but we don’t have. if we can sign him in January then he will boost our chances in the race for top 2 finish.

28th December 2017 at 6:47 pm #10310CMan, there’s so much nonsense in the press re who Chelsea may or not buy in January in the media. I don’t believe any of it until I read it on the Chelsea site. Cheers 999

28th December 2017 at 6:56 pm #10315Chelsea.man, Iβd sooner have a central midfielder who pushes on and can score, we have wide players that can do that, but nothing coming through the middle to turn those one points into three….Pagan

28th December 2017 at 7:10 pm #10318I think according to the reports. That Carrasco and Simone relationship is and was strained for months now. And Simone wants to get rid of him in order to create funds for the summer spending. And Conte wants to exploit that and bring him to Chelsea. Also Chelsea has an excellent relationship with Athletico. If you add all these dots you will find that a deal is not out of the equation. Although i’m not counting my chicks already. But i can now see the club is taking this City storm seriously ?.
999
Like you i’m not counting my chicks yet. But it looks like an exciting January transfer window for Chelsea if the reports are to ve believed. Like you i’m not a fan of the January window. And our record in that month is always not good. Although we sigbed both Matic and Cahill in that month. But Cuarado and Torres is still fresh from my mind. Anyway getting Carrasco is unbeleivable for me. It may lift our attacking midfielders also.

You are right in that sense. I can see your point here. We never replaced Frank Lampard 3 years after he left the club. But that is easier said than done. Lampard was rare breed of midfield who could burst in to the box and score out of nowhere. And i don’t think those kind of midfielders are available today. Instead i was looking like we increase goals from out wide.

28th December 2017 at 7:21 pm #10320Chelsea.man, theyβre rare Iβll admit, but if you have wide players you need someone arriving late in the middle, will be costly but ultimately worthwhile….Pagan

Look at how City is using their wide players to contribute goals. Both Sane and Sterling are in to double figures in goals. I would like if we use them like that way.Pedro can score enough goals as we have seen him do that last season. Willian isn’t that far. But getting Carrasco who will be an upgrade to them will be fantastic for me. There is no Lampard like central midifielders. We have central attacking midifielders who can contribute goals. But they don’t go deep and win tackles or defend their box in one minute and score on the other box in the next minute.
