I think Pep is lucky that City are the media darlings, as if any other manager had said something that ridiculous they would be a laughing stock, spread all over the papers – especially considering what Pep has said in the past regarding spending and rater bringing youth players through.

31st January 2018 at 8:07 am #14241That’s why he lost all his hair, the stress of spending a billion quid, perhaps it’s all a weird version of “Brewster’s Million: Football Edition!” or something? 🙂

31st January 2018 at 8:11 am #14242Our local News which is trusting so far say no official bid has been made for Mahrez. I get the feeling his agent has been trying to push for a move and the board have continued to be resistant. Sooner or later though, that’ll change.
He doesn’t seem commitment as Vardy.

31st January 2018 at 1:12 pm #14256AnonymousThat’s true PPT, but some get pilloried for it, and some escape mention. Pep talks utter rubbish and gets away with it.
What Pep said about modern football making him sad regarding the focus on big name signings rather than promoting youth – to go from that to what he is now would be jumped upon if that was anyone else. Yet not one thread on a forum, nor one paragraph in a paper calling him out. And that is after his ridiculous comments on being constrained by budgets.

31st January 2018 at 1:23 pm #14257Reckon Big J would confirm I’ve somewhat “called-out” the spending habits of City, I wouldn’t say they’re getting away without “comment”… although I am just a cyber armchair football warrior manager in the frozen wastes of Finland who hates Malmo and loves Pickled Onion flavor Monster Munch (which you can’t get in the frozen wastelands of Finland but you can get in WHSmiths at Gatwick Airport when you land!).

31st January 2018 at 1:38 pm #14259AnonymousBanjo – all i’m trying to say is that if it was Mourinho they’d be numerous threads on it, no the odd comment and they’d be double page articles in the papers and numerous articles on websites.
Just my view.

31st January 2018 at 1:41 pm #14260Possibly Alfie because Mouriniho is now seen as a bit of a tedious bore and the media have fallen out of love with him…. just a thought!

31st January 2018 at 1:44 pm #14261Don’t know what more evidence you need, the Manc clubs are the Ugly Sisters at the Premiership Ball, no doubt about it, and do hold two of the Top 3 places on
BanjoChucky’s List of Teams He Loves to Watch Lose… how much more evidence do you need that the masses are basically laughing at you as both institutions pretend to be a football club._____________________________

31st January 2018 at 1:55 pm #14263The difference between the media’s and opposition fan’s reactions to Guardiola and Mourinho is that Guardiola is generally liked by both whilst rightly or wrongly Mourinho isn’t.

31st January 2018 at 1:56 pm #14264AnonymousThat’s true Jim, but should peoples perception of others mean they get treated differently in the same circumstances?
Especially with fans on forums. Just seems to underline that most of it is tribal, rather than anyone being particularly upset by what gets said. For people to react differently to what is said due to who said it suggests that it’s nothing more than petty tribalness in the first place.

31st January 2018 at 2:10 pm #14265Alfie, You are right of course! I pick up on what Mouriniho says more than you do and conversely you pick up on what Pep says more than I do. That’s why we are fans I suppose. Anyway here’s to a satisfying win for City with no injuries tonight and a good thumping for United at the hands of the Harry Kane team!?
The last one was more wishful thinking as clearly United have the Hex over Spurs!

31st January 2018 at 2:39 pm #14268Even when the ball is a yard over the line it doesn’t count! You have to see the net bulge.

31st January 2018 at 2:50 pm #14272AnonymousMourinho is an utter cunt. I’ve always despised him, it has nothing to do with him being the Utd manager. . but it is rather convenient now.
