Sean, given all the circumstances Giroud at £18m sounds like a good deal to me too. Not signed yet though.

Circa £60m bid for Mahrez from City probably won’t get him seemingly Leicester want quite a bit more? But circa £60m for Laporte and now the bid for Mahrez suggests that City might be getting ready for FFP2?

Giroud is a much better option than Carroll or Crouch and I think will be a decent backup option when Morata is unavailable or not on form. On recent form, I wonder if Giroud may even keep Morata out of the side.

Mahrez is a funny one. Surely, even City can’t afford to pay £60mil for someone who will warm the bench when everyone is fit. I don’t believe they’ll go that high to be honest.

As a Spud-lover, have to say there isn’t a lot of fizz in my beans about this Moura chap. I mean, “only” (cough) 25 million and we aren’t exactly beating the competition with a stick. Can he really be all that?
