I agree Mak,its done & dusted pal,and well done to Klopp for building such an amazing machine.Every time Liverpool play,no matter who they play, where they play, they can make something out of nothing, create chances, and score goals for fun.

25th January 2020 at 11:16 am #61898Anonymous“Mak you know me mate ? ”
I do indeed Sean and I won’t hold it against you for wanting it signed and sealed. I’m not completely relaxed about it either, I mean I find myself nitpicking about the players. I can see a lot of room for improvement, which is an odd thing to say for a side who can’t stop winning but they are marginal wins. There have been so many teams so far this season who’ve given us a good scrap. Gone are the days where we blow teams away. Maybe what I’m picking at with the likes of Salah, Firmino, Roberton and other players who I greatly admire, is a symptom of this reserved nature that we seem to take into matches now. Before we were sprinting, now we’re running the marathon.
Anyway, I woke up today glad that we have football this weekend, with the FA Cup. I hope Klopp tries to win the thing this year. I can’t remember who was in goal last match in this tournament but I’d love to see Adrian be given the role for as long as we can stay in it. As for the rest, I’d like us to put in as many of the first team who are in good condition as we can. Get the goals and then sub 3 of them off early enough.

25th January 2020 at 11:23 am #61899AnonymousI do have one regret about this season, or a feeling of that nature anyway. That is that in all the years that I’ve known Aussie and how he had been getting up in the middle of the night to watch us try and try and try, it really sucks that he gave it up and we instantly set course to win the PL.
If you read this Aussie, I know you kinda lost interest when the heavy metal football went out the window and it is definitely less interesting to watch, in terms of excitement. I wouldn’t say we’re boring though, I mean we’re not grinding out draws, so I happily trade the rock n roll for a CL win and soon to be a PL win. I hope you can find the time and the tech to watch the run in man. Find a way Oz!

29th January 2020 at 10:00 pm #64519Southampton (H)
Norwich (A)
West Ham (H)
Watford (A)
Bournemouth (H)Liverpool’s next lot of games. They’ll be more than the current 19 points clear at the end of that lot. Amazing.
City’s upcoming run of matches
Spurs (A)
West Ham (H)
Leicester (A)
Arsenal (H)
Man Utd (A)
Burnley (H)Points to be dropped amongst that lot I would think.

30th January 2020 at 4:21 am #65022G’day Mak, thanks for the thought mate but no need have regrets for me. I’m watching the highlights and enjoying seeing us skip away at the top & I’m more than happy to see us trade heavy metal footy for titles. My main reason for missing the games is fox sports losing the rights to the EPL & the minister for finance putting a stop to any more subscriptions for sport.
Rest assured I’ll be enjoying any success we have as much as the next red. Take care all._____________________________

30th January 2020 at 5:34 am #65121Good to hear you’re enjoying our amazing season Oz!
City have by far the harder remaining games. The only games that concern me are City away and to a lesser extent Arsenal away, just in case they have their act together by the time we visit them! I was worried before the game about Wolves away and am glad that’s over. City still need to visit Chelsea which will be the next block after the one Mak states (after a very difficult CL game vs Madrid).

30th January 2020 at 8:21 am #65327Chelsea aren’t playing well at home threeps.
They have dropped some silly points there over the last two months. Some bad defeats to Bournemouth and Southampton
They have the quality to cause city problems though. Still think city will beat them
Not concerned bout city now. We just keep going

30th January 2020 at 8:36 am #65329The only thing Liverpool have to worry about in the PL now is whether they can remain unbeaten or not and how many points they accumulate between now and the end of the season lots of records could fall.
Absolutely pointless checking City’s fixture list and worrying about who they have to play Liverpool would have to lose 6 of their last 14 games now which is never ever going to happen and City win every game and even then Liverpool would win it by a point.

30th January 2020 at 11:37 am #65335It is worth looking at City’s run in to get an idea of by how many points Liverpool can leave them in their jet stream and embarrass the rest of the league, Chelsea included at the same time. Last I checked Chelsea were 30 points behind them which is truly incredible. We were never a prayer anyhow.

30th January 2020 at 11:50 am #65336CHM1967-It already is embarrassing for the rest of the league, and if City dont perform a major surgery for next year,we could see another embarrassing title race next season. The good thing for Liverpool for next season its the fact that all the chasing pack require a rebuild, with City,Spuds,Chelsea,United and Arse, all in need of rebuilding.
One cannot help but envy Klopp & what he has build with this Liverpool,an utter machine that can destroy anyone in their path._____________________________

30th January 2020 at 2:42 pm #65359I think the stat that amazes me is that Liverpool have more points than United and Spurs put together! I would love to go the season unbeaten and get a record points total, and that is really all there is to play for now. I reckoned we had it won after the Leicester game on Boxing Day although Sean, Mak, Mikus and maybe threeps as well shouted me down for going public! Admittedly we did have a tough run of fixtures in Jan but the mentality and single-mindedness of the management and team at Anfield allowed me to be really confident, even then. The single-mindedness has of course manifested itself this week in Jurgen’s attitude to the FA Cup, a decision I don’t agree with, but they do only have their eyes on one thing…well, maybe two!

30th January 2020 at 2:45 pm #65362Think it will be interesting when we have won it with 5 or 6 games to go whether the players can keep their focus and get that unbeaten record. I still have my doubts.

30th January 2020 at 2:53 pm #65368The suprise is how far City are behind Liverpool but it’s bigger than just the loss of Laporte and Sane etc the pace Liverpool set this season would have made it almost impossible for anyone to have stayed with them this they’ve been driven by the acute disappointment of last season and that level may be difficult to continue into next season.
67 touches on Chelsea but imo Chelsea are in a better position than everyone expected including me given all the circumstances primarily because everyone else has been just as poor as Chelsea have been at times.
Realistically Chelsea should have 4th place pretty much sewn up now given their domination in the majority of their games and all the chances created but not taken,so many points have been thrown away at that’s frustrating.

HAHA sorry man! Well, you can say it now 😛 It would be bloody amazing to go undefeated alright but I’d prefer the CL and PL double over that record, I think. I mean, the CL is awesome, the PL is in the bag but to go down as maybe the greatest ever PL side in a single season… It is the stuff of dreams. I guess for now we can just sit back and see if we beat Southampton. We’ve Atletico coming up in early/mid March I think. They won’t be easy to get past.

30th January 2020 at 7:32 pm #65523It’s still not over for me hightown. I don’t care what people think. It’s not over for me till it’s over mate.
It’s between utd and Chelsea for 4th. Big game in a few weeks at the bridge. Not sure what’s going on with Chelsea’s home form at the minute. 4th be huge for frank in his 1st season. A real transitional year that had seen so many young players take the step up
Spurs and arsenal really have been disappointing

30th January 2020 at 7:36 pm #65529Really don’t care about going unbeaten. Not worried about the champions league. Winning the pl would just top everything we have done in the last 30 years. We have wAited so so long and it’s a reality now were it really is within touching distance. It’s been a massive burden on the club
I’ve never seen a Liverpool team
Like this. It’s hard to believe at times how good we have become. I’m just enjoying it all. It’s absolutely huge for us fans , the club and the city.

30th January 2020 at 7:43 pm #65540AnonymousFair enough Sean, you do you man. I am a bit surprised that you’re not bothered by the CL but I imagine that might change by the time the PL is mathematically secure. That is of course if we’re still in the CL when that happens.
It is hard to believe just how good we are alright. I have had faith in Klopp but honestly, I thought we’d be fighting tooth and nail with City this season. I was kinda ok with the idea that we might have missed our best chance there last season but what we’ve seen so far is a seemingly unstoppable force. Long may it continue and hopefully Ings won’t come back to haunt us in a few days.
