Others may disagree, but I actually welcomed the handling of the Refereeing from the Barca-PSG game last night. I appreciate the ‘heat of the moment’ and perhaps on Xavi for example, he should have been given a warning or a telling off first, but overall, I felt it set a good precedent.
We need this in the Premier League and clamping down on diving and getting the rules right.
It’ll be raining goals tonight. Fasten your Seatbelts π

17th April 2024 at 7:34 pm #213928Not entirely sure, PPT/115, but it certainly wouldn’t help the cause, that’s for sure, although I would think Leverkausen are likley to win it (unless the Micky Mousers pull their socks up in the most Borat of fashions)… would rather both the goonies and Wet Spam win… π

17th April 2024 at 7:35 pm #213929Don’t forget, it’s points for just winning games, not going through.. so even if they Micky Mousers & Barrow Boys win 1-0 it gives the pommies points..

17th April 2024 at 11:36 pm #213955If Pep wants to actually prove himself, rather than at sides who guarantee him trophies, he should take over Alonso at Leverkusen when he leaves.
Let’s see if he can replicate or surpass what Alonso has done, on the budget Alonso has had.

18th April 2024 at 6:09 am #213958Well, that’s 5 for the CL over more or less… confirmed if West Ham don’t win tonight AND go through… that’s all (especially those twats in Manchester and Bone Saw Boyz City who finished bottom of their group!!)

18th April 2024 at 8:35 am #213959Is the PL still the best in the world? Entertainment wise maybe, although we are (maybe already have) in danger of turning into one team dominating which is boring. But quality wise? Very poor showing this season including my team unless they pull out an unbelievable result tonight.

18th April 2024 at 9:11 am #213960Joking aside, I still think the PREM is the best, certainly from a viewing point, as we see a lot more “upsets” in the PREM than you see in other Leagues… and apart from perhaps the Top3 (who I think would waltz through most other Leagues), I would think most other Prem sides from 4th to about 10th would be guaranteed CL footy every season and a very decent chance of the title…
I think the big difference between the PREM and other Euro Leagues is the “quality” of the chasing back behind the usual suspects… it’s a lot higher in Engerland!!

18th April 2024 at 9:30 am #213962As for Real Madrid, can’t stand them myself: self entitled, arrogant, corrupt to the core, condescending Arsenals but,a team full of players with heart, grit, determination, and history.Unlike most if not all in the PL- a league made of overrated, overpaid pussies like Grealish, Rashford,Arry, Sterling,and…..
Perfect examples: Nacho,Carvajal, and Rudiger, with the latter not giving Haland an single second to even breathe in 2 games._____________________________

18th April 2024 at 9:35 am #213963I think arsenal be kicking themselves threeps mate. Munich have some very good players but are not a very good team at the moment. Arsenal should be beating them but lack of experience may have come into play here.
Aresnal werent great though so get your point. Really thought they had learned from last season .
City battered madrid. Missed so many chances.
Villa maybe the pnly hope for a final place

18th April 2024 at 10:29 am #213965True… but would you bet against the current Jammy Dodgers not to finish Top 3 in France, Top 4 in Germany or Spain, Top 5 in Italy? I wouldn’t, I reckon over the course of a season they would… same for the likes of Villa, Spuds, Bone Saw Boyz, or even the really mid-table teams like YooUtd, Brighton, Brentford?

18th April 2024 at 10:29 am #213966My bug-bear about the Prem is the game not exercised by teams to approach the game differently, contrary to the Trend of ‘high press’. It’s almost like watching a game of Basketball. The patience has been taken out of it.
Ancelotti had Pep sorted before the whistle had even blown. Reminders of Liverpool!
I can’t draw to a logical ‘scientific’ conclusion as to why there are so many player injuries and players burning out in our league as opposed to the others.
The Championship for example play 46 league matches and that’s in regular, Tuesday-Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday.
The irony is too that most teams in the Prem have big enough squads in what you would think be able to manage competing in multi-competitions.
It’s that final part of the season that tests all quarters the most. No shame whatsoever above all and commiserations.
Last Chance Saloon for Liverpool Tonight; wish us luck!

18th April 2024 at 11:22 am #213967I think the attacking quality of the top 3 teams in the premier league isn’t at the elite level of other European teams, though Cityβs is still the best in our league and that is what will probably see them over the line for another league title. Arsenal lack world class options up top and Liverpool only really have Salah as that world class option and he seems to be still be struggling after his injury.
