We’ve had a mixed bag of results down the years hiring national team coaches to CFC. the disaster was big phil scolari… One trick pony at international level.
I’m fast approaching a similar view with Conte. His side at the Euros two years ago was stuffed full of journeymen type players. He had a system with three at the back much like big phil. Has been found wanting this season and the more defensive Conte goes the more abject our football is and generally the more miserable watching Chelsea has become.
The likes of Jurgen Klinsmann and others have gone from club or domestic football to national management, but im struggling with names of managers who have gone from international football to club management and succeeded.
Is this a trend clubs should consider when looking to poach an international manager. Joachim Lowe would be one I’d avoid at all costs, Deschamp would be one that could be considered to venture back to club football… But who has made the transition back and done well. Im struggling…
