Pagan, It’s not a choice between the domestic League and a,European League people need to get their heads around that nobody in Europe wants to ditch there domestic Leagues for a European League the ECA have already firmly stated that.
If a European comes about it will be at the expense of the Champions League as we currently know it. It will happen though in the end imo just like the European Cup happened and then the Champions League happened in an expanded format.

19th January 2019 at 3:00 pm #31615I don’t think there will be any need for Semi Finals or Finals Chucky it would be purely a League format it would have to have relegation and promotion from a second tier European League built in to it though.

19th January 2019 at 3:35 pm #316239, I’m not saying it is a choice unless you start wanting changes to what we currently have, to drop into the FA Cup at round 5 would be a joke, win 4 games and you’ve won the cup.
If the teams that want an alternative league with changes to their domestic league, then that’s where they have to make a choice. An alternative to the CL in format only I don’t see as a problem.
As an aside it was quite amusing to see Ole at Man U saying how important the FA Cup was to them, wasn’t that important the year they didn’t play in it, I wouldn’t have let them back in the next few years if ever…Pagan

19th January 2019 at 5:14 pm #31657It would be a League mate imo just like the PL. But who knows we’re all just speculating.

19th January 2019 at 8:58 pm #31694Lol, honestly from my point of view, just leave the whole thing as it is.
Far too much grief and unhealth.
I just want to turn up and win a trophy full stop, nothing more, nothing less, that’s all I’m here for.

20th January 2019 at 9:11 am #31713I would drop Europa, Caraboo for PL teams, most teams cannot afford to carry squads to cover all competitions anyhow and it should not be left to the few that can. CL is over rated. The platers may say it is the only place /game they want to play in but that is heavily weighted by they bring in more money for themselves. Fans pay more for the privlege

27th March 2019 at 7:59 am #36310“The ECA has already rejected FIFA’s proposal for a rejuvenated Club World Cup – to be played in the summer months rather than the current winter schedule.
And the Association want to look at ways to evolve the Champions League by 2024, with the proposition of additional leagues creating a tiered system where clubs and achieve promotion and relegation. Today’s Daily Express.

27th March 2019 at 11:09 am #36323Quite like the idea of a proper “World Club Cup” to be honest. Only concerned about where they would fit it in to be honest. Every other summer between the World Cup and Euro’s is empty, but the poor (cough) buggers could do with a break to be fair or they would be dropping like flies…
Does anybody know if there is is some sort of limit on the number of games professional players can play, some sort of union rules? That could be interesting with regards to rotation and squads etc, certainly ensure clubs have to give the “youngsters” some game time…

27th March 2019 at 11:18 am #36325The football playing world has become so huge now that they can afford to play 2 different teams of almost equal strength. There’s too many players for the clubs and also the clubs are growing all the time

27th March 2019 at 4:58 pm #363411) There’s a definite move from the ECA to develop the CL into a Super CL and I think UEFA will have to go with that.
2) There is also a definite no from the ECA to a FIFA sponsored World Club Cup on the basis that there are already too many games.
It looks like 1 will develop further but on 2 if it goes ahead it won’t include the European Club’s.
