“What I can say about Eden is that he refused an extension of contract to be able, if necessary, to follow the interest of the Real, where he would see himself well,” Thierry Hazard to Le Sour.
“But, as I speak to you, there is no contact”
“Eden is only one of the parties to the contract.”
That’s an invitation by Hazard to Real delivered by his Father almost certainly with Hazard’s approval to come and get me if you want me.
Whilst it’s a massive blow we have to accept that at the level that Hazard is at this was always likely to happen Hazard will have given us 6 seasons and helped deliver 2 PL titles a Europa League and a League Cup it’s been great having him at the Bridge and very few players in the modern game particularly at Hazard’s level stay the length of time Hazard has.
If he goes at the end of the Season as now seems likely I will be bitterly disappointed to lose him but he will go with my best wishes for what he’s done for the club and the enjoyment he’s given the Chelsea fans.
On the plus side with two years left on Hazards contract we should start negotiations at a minimum of £150m and rising and insist on Asensio as part of the deal.

29th December 2017 at 2:12 pm #10377maverick, that’s true enough mate and I for one though disappointed won’t begrudge Eden a move to Real the club he supported as a kid!.
As long as Real cough up £200m!?

29th December 2017 at 2:17 pm #10378This guy has been an example of quality over the years and consistent to plough through those gears and be the cutting edge for Chelsea. Just remember all the good stuff in the years he’s served.

29th December 2017 at 2:25 pm #10379999-How much has Eden got left on his contract? So no chance of a £90m move to United then I take it? Lol.

29th December 2017 at 2:36 pm #10380Real and Barca must be the only clubs on this planet allowed a 60 months ‘Buy Now Pay Later’ hahaha 😀 😛

29th December 2017 at 2:51 pm #10381My money’s on the Chav’s get about the same as Pool are getting for Wee Phil… about 120 if you’re lucky! Unfortunately Real “Can’t Beat Spuds” Madrid hold most of the cards in this one… especially when the player has pretty much asked the club to bid for him (although I note with amusement, not an “official” transfer request as he’ll lose money!)

29th December 2017 at 3:04 pm #10382Nil-Most deals these days are concluded like that mate. The buying team pays the transfer fee over a course of say 2-3 years.

29th December 2017 at 3:09 pm #10383Oh the joys of fixed term contracts, let another club buy the right to let him work for them off you, or let him run down his contract and leave. Mr Bosman has a lot to answer for.
Prior to the Bosman ruling the clubs had far too much control over their players, but I don’t think the idea was to shift it totally in favour of the player, but we’re stuck with it now…Pagan

29th December 2017 at 3:24 pm #10384If we wants to leave there is nothing we can do. let them match our valuations and he is theirs. as long as we get Asensio and Bale in return. i think they need him and they need to freshen their squad after their underwhelming season. we are Chelsea and we can replace any player who leaves. i would thank him for his service to the team. we have an interesting summer ahead of us. Courtois? Conte? Hazard? but i’m confident the club will get a solution. i’m not concerned about him leaving. after all players are not permanent in their clubs. every player have their price. but we the fans are the only permanent people.

29th December 2017 at 3:29 pm #10385It doesn’t carry a great deal of weight in the modern day Pagan. As soon as the guy’s head is turned, that is it and it’s those playing in the Premier League that to an extent are living in slight fear at the prospect of losing their best player at the hands of the same 2 you know who’s.
I am cynical and resentful, but it does make me feel a little better when they are served a taste of their own medicine ala PSG.
One big vicious circle in essence.

29th December 2017 at 3:52 pm #10389Mav, not sure about that on Hazard, but I get what you mean in principle. I’d attribute that type of attitude more in the direction of somebody like Sanchez and Ozil.

29th December 2017 at 3:55 pm #10390Chelsea.man, unfortunately we can’t replace any player that wants to leave, we don’t have the financial clout we did before FFP, more clubs are on an equal footing to us, we don’t have the charisma of Barca, Real, Man U. We do howeve have recent form and we have shown we will and can be successful.
As for replacing any player, we haven’t replaced Lampard yet….Pagan

CHM-Bale,you surely are joking, right? He is so injury-prone he will struggle in the MLS or CSL.Assensio on the other hand or Isco/Kroos ,should do._____________________________

29th December 2017 at 4:38 pm #10395We can replace Hazard 100% that is what i can tell you. Besides that when we acquired Hazard he wasn’t the player he is today. If we get £180m then we can go for any plyer we want. I don’t see any problem with that. United never replaced Ronaldo but still kept on winning trophies. We may not replace him directly as that is difficult to do. But we may replace him indirectly. Between Hazard and Lampard who is difficult to replace? I would say Lampard is more difficult. Where will you get a central midfielder who can score 20 goals every season? If we get Ansensio plus £150, then we will not be that bad. Once this story is out we need to get as much as we can for him.

29th December 2017 at 4:59 pm #10397Assensio AND £150m?.Wow mate, don`t you think it might be a bit too much, especially if Hazard refuses to sign the contract on offer,as being reported?

29th December 2017 at 5:12 pm #10401Chelsea.man, if we sell Hazard and get £x, then to get a player as good is also going to cost £x, and that of course depends on the player wanting to come.
I don’t think Hazard is in any rush to leave Chelsea, but I don’t think he will sign a new contract, which lowers his price significantly….Pagan
