Some great points very well made on this thread imo but as Stevo alluded to we’re not going to fix the environmental crisis without Governments all over the world sit down and agree a strategy they all buy into and more importantly execute!

I wouldn’t dismiss the achievements of Greta Thunberg I think she’s done a great job as a schoolgirl from Sweden in somehow raising the profile of this problem as high as she had on a worldwide basis especially amongst the young whose role it will be to start trying to fix all this.

But there’s only so far a 16 year old schoolgirl from Sweden can go and without Governments come together with an executable strategy the world is going to be in major trouble which will affect all of our children, grandchildren and great grand children more than it will effect any of us on here.

But the clock is ticking!

Puppy, you’re forgetting Governments are supposed to work for the people, and if the people demand action then the governments are obliged to do so (in theory at any rate!). Governments all over the world aren’t going to sit down without a nudge or two.

And in the meantime there is plenty you, I, and everybody else can do… if we could be bothered.

It’s all a bit like the diving and cheating in football. We all hate it, we all want it to stop, but all of us are also secretly saying “why we should be the first when everybody else is doing it!”.

I take Buffy’s mancrush on Agent Smith and give you “V”!! 🙂

Chucky, the environment has to be higher up on the Agenda for both people and Governments.

As we saw in the recent British General elections other than the Green party and their supporters there were issues higher on the Agenda’s for both the people and the the various parties and when it comes to the US election I suspect the same will be reflected.

Governments around the world have to take the lead on this issue.

The strategy was agreed in 2016 and the Government’s of the world need to start delivering what was agreed.

“In 2016, nearly 200 countries signed up to the Paris climate accord, which set individual targets aimed at preventing global temperatures from rising above 2C this century – and to pursue efforts to limit the temperature increase even further to 1.5C or less.

Despite such promises, many countries are still not on track. Some of the globe’s biggest emitters – the US and Russia – have either left or not yet ratified the treaty.”

Anyway despite a touch of Mourinhoitis and the disappointing loss of Harry and Sissoko you need to get yourself back on the football threads where your wisdom and input is sorely missed.?

i think Nancy is a big old crie baby (rightly so over liv) and needs to put those toys back in his pram and just go with the flow that his beloved spuds in their shiney new stadium is now being led by the anti footballing anti christ…..tho im guessing if they somehow beat liverpool we may hear just a wee bit more from him 😉
