Absolute tragic loss of life at just 58, in battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Italy-Juventus-Sampdoria-Chelsea. A very well know Footballer and a Legend
I was fortune to see him play life at Leicester back in 1998.
Rest In Peace Luca.

6th January 2023 at 10:40 am #202352First time I went to bridge was 99 for league Cup match with Blackburn, we drew 1-1 and went through on pens, Vialli was sent off!
Anyway, next day I am back in school in the valleys in South Wales in D+T class sitting next to the Burge twins who were not in any of my other classes. I couldn’t tell them quick enough about my trip to the Bridge the night before and how the game went, then I said “and Vialli was sent off” and one responded “yeah we know, our dad sent him off”! 😆 Didn’t believe them for a second but looked up to see the teacher listening in and smiling as he said “No it’s true, their dad is Kieth Burge!
Such a surreal moment for me as a 14 year old J will never forget it.
Never forget Luca either I loved him as a player and loved our team under him when he was player/manager too.

6th January 2023 at 11:17 am #202356The passing of Luca made me very emotional forgetting his great attributes as a Player, Coach and Manager he was more importantly a lovely man.
“When the ball hit the back of the Old Trafford net that’s Vialli” RIP Luca and thanks for the memories.

6th January 2023 at 11:37 am #202361Nice read Lucky. Makes you look back and appreciate. It just made me think about Chelsea at one point having Robbie De Matteo, Gianfranco Zola and Gianluca Vialli in their team. One of my all time favourite things about Football is Player Manager and Luca at the time was. They were exciting times back then.

7th January 2023 at 10:46 am #202383I would imagine without doubt Vialli would have been close to lots more of former Italian footballers. There is affinity and brotherhood. That generation in particular of the late 80s going into the 90s. A real shock to the others with the loss of a wonderful human being.
