Thatβs it lucky mate. Spurs were probably playing at their absolute maximum in the 2st half yet didnβt really trouble chelsea
You knew chelsea had another few gears and absolutely bosses the 2nd half. Chelsea look the most solid team in the league. Very impressive

19th September 2021 at 7:25 pm #185447Chelsea are going to take some beating on that showing. I know it’s ridiculously early in Nuno’s reign but I can’t see him being around for long at Spurs. Bar that first City game, they’ve been very ordinary. I thought they’d get a point today but they look a bit lost.
As for Utd, it’s yet another comeback and yet another away win to keep that record breaking run going against a strong West Ham side.

19th September 2021 at 7:44 pm #185448Nuno unfortunately outdone tactically and for him only has a certain deck of cards to deal with. The first Tottenham caller on 606 made valid points about Levy. On the pitch, he’s the one holding them back.
Touchel meanwhile is Steel, Real Steel. I’ll call Next Weekend’s result in being a Bankers Draw or at the very best, at 1-1 Score Draw.
He has astute capabilities to not only select an alternative formation, but one of which that’s a Best Fit.
Honestly Title Contenders.
There’s 3 other teams competing alongside Liverpool. I think it’ll be a case of Endurance and the Survival of the Fittest.
Kovacic, Christensen, Alonso under the Radar.

19th September 2021 at 7:45 pm #185449Utds come backs from a goal down record is unreal Ed.35 points from losing positions is outstanding
They deserved to win today. One maybe two stonewall pens turned down.
Moyes has done a great job at West Ham but what an absolutely laughable decision to bring noble on. You knew he would miss it. Really silly stuff

19th September 2021 at 8:10 pm #185452Well, delighted with the result. it has been an even first half with neither team creating clear cut chances, although, Spurs edged be controlling the midfield battle. in the second half, Chelsea was the better team and deserved the points on the basis of our second-half performance. we could have scored more than 3 had we been clinical enough.
Next week could be our biggest game of the season. I hope we don’t lose that game. it will be interesting to see who Tuchel goes for. will he play 2 up top and use Werner’s pace to hit City on the break? or will he go toe to toe with City? I think the former makes sense, going toe to toe with City carries its risks.
I have to say, Silva surprised me today, his performance has been unreal. and for him to score and keep a clean sheet against the division’s deadliest duo in Kane and Son shows the level he is playing at currently. Jorginho has also highlighted his importance to our team. Even Alonso is playing a level above his usual displays. and I also have to give credit to Kepa, I was feeling jitters when I saw him in our lineup. but fair enough he rose to the occasion.
The injury to Mount is a bit worrying given he is important to our set-up. but at least that is one area that we have plenty of options. next week midfield trio of Kante, Jorginho and Kovacic is the best for me.

19th September 2021 at 8:39 pm #185457Certainly looks silly in hindsight Sean. De Gea hasn’t saved his last 40 or so pens so I was convinced he’d score anyway but he was fortunate it was such a poor strike.

19th September 2021 at 8:47 pm #185459What a stunning 2nd half performance by Chelsea, I did expect them to be the stronger team but not so convincingly. I don’t think Nuno could have done much more with what he has.

19th September 2021 at 9:20 pm #185461Going to be some competition for Haaland you’d think next summer. 11 in 8 so far this season. Great goal at the end today…

20th September 2021 at 5:11 am #185463You’d think so wouldn’t you Mikus but are there really that many sides who could bring him in? I’d rule City out because of Pep’s refusal to work with Raiola. Utd I rule out simply because of his Dad’s history with our club and the clubs he played for. Chelsea have Lukaku. Barca and Madrid are skint and any money Madrid have will go towards Mbappe.
Looking at sides who have money, I believe his only options are Bayern, Liverpool and PSG. I still think he’ll be Lewandowski’s replacement at Bayern and I think City might bring Lewandowski in for a season. Failing that, he’ll be PSG’s statement signing if Mbappe goes to Real next summer.

20th September 2021 at 7:17 am #185465Some of the decisions these managers make border on insanity, On the other hand the Chelsea game was well handled, I also believe that was Nunos best possible starting 11 and they were OK in an even first half but couldn’t last the technical pace of the game. Mount has not come alight this season and Kante will always make a difference, 2nd half could have been easily 6 goals, Chelsea completely outplayed Spurs. Even Chucky predicted the score correctly.

20th September 2021 at 9:28 am #185467AnonymousApparently Klopp wants Lewandowski and ya, Halland to Bayern, as usual. That last goal there had elements of Ibrahimovich to it.
I don’t know why Dortmund don’t just refuse to do business with Bayern. They make money but they are only ever shooting themselves in the foot. Sell abroad, outright refuse to deal with Bayern. tell any players that want to go there that they can go abroad instead.

20th September 2021 at 9:43 am #185469I agree mak but most of the big ones have been free transfers I think where dortmund didn’t have a say. Think gotze was free and haaland will have release clause so nothing dortmund can do about that either.
I know bundesliga get a lot of credit fir how fans are not financially expoited but at least here there is a bit of competition.

20th September 2021 at 1:07 pm #185472I’m no expert on German culture in football, but I suspect a lot of it is simply that Bayern are better operators than their competitors and now have their very effective modus operandi down to a fine art. Yet for all their dominance, the other clubs seem to have no problem filling their stadia. I think football is seen more of an experience than one based on hell bent on winning. And perhaps because of that, it’s easier for a club who do want to dominate, to take advantage.
