Brian I think itβs like utd during the week. One poor result and the world goes silly. Ridiculous

18th September 2021 at 10:50 pm #185367Why is it ‘Catastrophic’ when Manchester City drop a point? Is that not allowed?
The same I saw with Manchester United when they were in dominance.

19th September 2021 at 12:37 am #185370AnonymousNil, I think it’s more the manner of it. I’d agree though that more will always be made of it when it does happen. That’s football. Of course, it isn’t helped by the off the field events. They will always compound a bad result when it comes to media reporting.
In the end of the day, they drew a match. We’ll drop points when we’re expected to win also, it means little but I am glad to see that City aren’t kicking off this season looking totally invulnerable anyway.
The injuries that both Liverpool and City are picking up already are kinda alarming. They have the squad to deal with it though, we really have got to either be luckier, or sign players who have better injury records. You can really only depend on one of those options…

19th September 2021 at 1:01 am #185372I just saw a video of more brawling, this time in the stand at Burnley vs Arsenal and it appears authorities are trying to keep all this violence under wraps, anyway let me get back to fighting my insomnia

19th September 2021 at 9:24 am #185373The opinion on ole is so divided that there is a clear divide between utd fans. Some are waiting for poor results so they can have a go. The media aswell. City drop points and thereβs all kind of talk about pep etc cause what happened during the week. This what managers have to deal with at such high profile clubs.
I think it was well over the top on ole during the week and city yday. They won the league without a centre forward and have scored 17 goals in 6 games so are they really missing a centre forward.

19th September 2021 at 10:52 am #185377Lucky, that is it, comments on issues like that , but a lot of games to go. As far as I am aware Pep has publicly said also that, IF asked, he may stay on longer providing club and players respond to him staying Pep did not pick a fight with fans but stated he would like more fans at next game for team support….from that point, people twisted it how they wanted. Even Lineker put his pennyworth in instead of talking about an entertaining match with Southampton referred to Peps “problem” He needs to concentrate on the match he is reviewing. I have no doubt the “Sundays” will pick up the story. It is not about opinion but how to magnify a non event. Opinion is always a welcome factor based on fact

19th September 2021 at 12:43 pm #185383Quite a few tight games yesterday, even if some of them did end up as 3-0 games. Itβs obviously been said before, but a big difference between the top sides is the quality to finish chances along with the quality at the back and general resilience in the team.
Be a very interesting test for Solksjaer at West Ham today. In Ronaldo, he now has a player who I think can bail him out in a lot of games. But over the course of the season, will it be enough? Still not sure enough is right there.
As for Pep, I donβt doubt theyβre capable of going on another run, but last season they really didnβt have any competition. And whilst they still score goals, players like Aguero are irreparable and make a huge difference in the big games. Still donβt quite get why they didnβt seem to go that bit further for Kane given they clearly wanted him.

19th September 2021 at 12:52 pm #185384AnonymousThe problem with Tottenham is nobody bothered until one Sunday in September when horror of horrored, the team turned up with another possible title in sight
it was too late to weep β it was too late to fight
and then Tottenham men realised what fools they had been
to accept second-best as a club or a team, is there light in the tunnel? Itβs too early to tell
Because Spurs need quality players and a good boss as well._____________________________

19th September 2021 at 1:28 pm #185386Sean, with the sheer volume of fans at these top clubs, there’s always going to be dividea. Look how divided Liverpool fans have been over Henderson over the years and even Klopp last season with some calling for his head despite all he’s done for the club. Fans were even calling for Ferguson to go many times through the years. There’s never going to be agreement in such huge fanbases.
Completely agree re the way we now go overboard after 1 result. Utd, for instance, weren’t suddenly the best team on the planet after we destroyed Leeds nor were we suddenly rubbish after the Young Boys game. We’ll all have blips and good runs this season. The team who wins the league is the one who best handles their blip and recovers from it.
Chelsea looking arguably the most consistent so far but their results haven’t told the whole story either. They were far from convincing against Villa or in their CL opener. Crucially, they got the points but they’ll also need to improve if they’re going to win the league.

19th September 2021 at 1:43 pm #185387Ed, to be honest every 2nd utd fan is divided on ole. The klopp out were from absolutely a minority of idiots. 99% of fans were with klopp last season but I totally get your point
Mikuis, think utd will win easily enough as West Ham have no real threat without Antonio. With Antonio It be a different story. He would give any defence issues

Last week villa didnβt take their chances. Same wolves v utd and last week and roderigo should have put leeds 1-0 up againest us. No idea how we got a clean sheet yday.3-0 really flattered us. That was a very tough game

19th September 2021 at 2:04 pm #185391Rightly so though, Sean. He’s spent a fair bit now and not won anything yet. The main thing is he has the match going fans behind him.

19th September 2021 at 2:37 pm #185396VAR back to its old tricks. The pen against us is absolute bullshit! Vestergaard’s handball was 100% caused by Maupay deliberately fouling him and pulling him to the ground. Unbelievable!
