23rd January 2022 at 4:51 pm #193772I bet Viera is cross. Will Klopp, the Ec๐๐ho and the Irish press be moaning about the decisions?

23rd January 2022 at 4:57 pm #193777Agree Sean. We’ve had one or two and been denied two or three but today’s decisions were bad. But no surprise eh!

23rd January 2022 at 4:58 pm #193778Rover you are right. Why are our refs generally so poor?

23rd January 2022 at 5:05 pm #193779Spot on Sean on the previous page, outstanding again for the first half hour, but then we drifted away for much of the rest of the game. Sums up our season – we have elements of our title winning season in us, but also elements of our early Klopp era in us with mistakes. Can’t really understand why? We just can’t seem to concentrate for a full 90 minutes anymore.

23rd January 2022 at 5:38 pm #193782Dodgiest penalty ever! Very iffy last 65 minutes, but c’est la vie, we’ll take it. Keeps the season interesting for a little longer. But Mikus, you’re right. The amount of leads we’ve allowed slip this season suggests a lack of concentration or even complacency. Think they found the first 30 so easy and could almost have scored at will that they started strolling.

23rd January 2022 at 6:02 pm #193785It is frustrating HH. I think we’ve gone a bit too gung-ho at times this season to try and make up for last season. But we’ve been making mistakes because of it. Just signs we are starting to gain control again of games again like vs Araenal and for the first half hour today. Just can’t yet seem to put it together consistently though the way we did in 19/20.
I have a horrible feeling we might just start pulling things together again, but end up losing to City by one point again because it’s too late ๐

23rd January 2022 at 6:32 pm #193786Much improved performance by Chelsea v midweek, hell of a goal by Ziyech and thankfully 3 important points.

23rd January 2022 at 8:15 pm #193788Whatever happens, we need to accept the verdict of VAR, not complain when it’s in favour of Chelsea. earlier in the season, we had a goal disallowed for something like that, not in the first or second phase of the build-up. and that was against Southampton. so everyone here was telling us the VAR was correct. now I don’t know why bring all of these moanings when the shoe is on the other foot? we either need to accept all the verdicts or complain all not selectively.

23rd January 2022 at 10:37 pm #193789Spurs poor again against Chelsea. 3 times now in quick succession they’ve just not shown up in massive games against Chelsea. Big win for Chelsea after a run of poor form. They’re so far behind Liverpool and City bit they should have enough to secure 3rd now.

24th January 2022 at 8:02 am #193790I think the back 4 with Sarr as left back suits Chelsea in the absence on Chilwell and James but once James is fit and if Chelsea maybe find a back up solution to Chilwell in the January transfer window I can see Chelsea returning to their favoured wing back formation.
The loss of Chilwell and James imo are the major reasons for Chelsea’s decline in form wing backs are an integral part of Chelsea’s play if for instance Liverpool lost both TAA and Robertson at the same time it would probably effect them similarly.

24th January 2022 at 1:52 pm #193792You look at spurs team yday Ed. Itโs really poor. Itโs a bang average team and 4th spot would be an absolutely unreal return.
Thatโs the poorest squad out of utd, Arsenal and spurs. I wouldnโt be expecting them to get anything away to Chelsea. Might have been a different game if Kaneโs goal stood.
I get you nine. James I understand as a brilliant wing back. Alonso is decent cover for chilwell in a back 5. Chilwell could t get in the team at the start of the season. Good full back
Chelsea have the best squad along with city by a country mile. Look at some of the players who didnโt come on yday. Excellent team and once they can get lackau going then 2nd is still very achievable
