Completely agree Mighty.
It’s crazy with this ‘snowball’ effect.
I understand the stakes from a Revenue point of view, but surely the industry needs to do more to protect Club Managers.
It’s poor too in terms of the set-up – not doing enough in my view from a training and development perspective and enticing a new breed.

7th November 2021 at 2:29 pm #18850425 mins into a very niggly game at Goodison, plenty of fouls from both sides, a few yellows already, neither goalie really tested yet… Spuds probably have the majority of the possession, Everton very obviously set up for the counter…

7th November 2021 at 2:37 pm #188505So 2 managers sacked so far over the weekend. But neither of them Ole.

7th November 2021 at 2:45 pm #188507“This year we have not seen the continuous improvement in results, performances and league position which we have all been looking for,” said Villa chief Christian Purslow.
He added: “For this reason we have decided to make a change now to allow time for a new head coach to make an impact.”
Not surprised if you lose 5 games on the trot at any Club you’re going to be in trouble.

7th November 2021 at 2:49 pm #188509HT here, 0-0 probably a decent reflection, a peno shout for Everton I’d lke to see again, and Reggie just missed possibly the best chance of the game, not the easiest, but there really hasn’t been much of a threat from either side.
Still completely convinced Skippy is not good enough as a CM in this 3-4-3… rabbit and headlights spring to mind…

7th November 2021 at 3:04 pm #188510Not sure about that Lucky I can see Frank maybe popping up at Norwich be suprised if Villa went for JT though I think they will want an experienced Manager.
The November international break is always a potentially vulnerable time for struggling Managers it’s the obvious time to make a change with the 2 week break and gives the new Manager a chance perhaps to bring one or two in January to try and turn things around.

7th November 2021 at 3:05 pm #188511Yeah banjo the delivery from kane for the chance just before half time was very good but difficult for reguilon to keep that volley on target. Exactly the type of position conte will want his wing backs getting into though he be happy with that

7th November 2021 at 3:10 pm #188513Nil,
β I understand the stakes from a Revenue point of view, but surely the industry needs to do more to protect Club ManagersβThis is high level competitive sport, itβs not a managers job to put out a team, itβs his job to manage a successful team, itβs each teams right to set the level they deem as successful, but I can guarantee not one team will set relegation as the threshold.
As for the industry protecting them, how does that work, you canβt force a team to keep a manager that isnβt hitting the targets set.
βItβs poor too in terms of the set-up β not doing enough in my view from a training and development perspective and enticing a new breedβ
I think thereβs probably plenty of opportunities to train and learn, but like an apprenticeship you have to start at the bottom on little money, not many of the superstars want to do that, they want a high profile job on mega money as a first rung on the ladder

7th November 2021 at 3:10 pm #188514“Speaking on Sky Sports after Saturday’s clash, Neville appeared to admit for the first time that Solskjaer’s position is almost becoming untenable.
“I don’t think there’s any chance they’ll make a decision during this season unless it gets so bad, but itβs getting to that stage where itβs so bad,” Neville said.
“Ole is under massive pressure and they have no courage. I know the Liverpool game stands out because it was 5-0 but that was 5-0 in everything but the scoreline.
“(Today) they looked frightened to death in and out of possession as if they were crumpled into a little ball waiting to get beat.”

7th November 2021 at 3:12 pm #188515Coming with pace and at full stretch, I think most would have struggled, but if he got it on target don’t think Pickford was stopping it..
