Surprisingly the Liverpool defence has looked quite open down the middle.
Good goal there 3-2. Time for West Ham to panic!_____________________________

7th November 2021 at 6:21 pm #188593Origi isn’t actually a bad player…so long as he’s played down the middle.

7th November 2021 at 6:30 pm #188601You can’t concede all the goals we’ve been conceding and have a chance to win the league. Klopp has to compromise on this high line in certain games. It’s just too risky, particularly when we can’t keep it as well in midfield.

7th November 2021 at 6:32 pm #18860325 match unbeaten run come to an end and our 10 league games gone.
4 Points off the leaders so not a great deal of a gap, but really a missed opportunity today to close in.
Well done Hammers

Absolute rubbish and disrespectful. Make it sound like we are a one man team. The reason we lost was nothing to do with Salah sparkling or not, the midfield lost the battle and Alisson had a shocker.

7th November 2021 at 6:40 pm #188606AnonymousYa Mikus but I still wont concede the title. I think it’s definitely getting to that point where you want to shore up the problems but Klopp has done it before, I still have some faith that he can do it on time to challenge for the title.
That midfield just isn’t working. Maybe it isn’t helped by teams learning to control our full backs a bit better, although Robertson could have had a field day down there only his touch just wasnt there today. He worked his ass off though, so I’ve no problem with his efforts.
I never understood why Origi was ever used out wide. There isnt even a discussion there for me and he was good when he came on, so he’s a good option off the bench.
Bit depressing to see this after the Brighton match. I came close to calling our title challenge over and I know you all think it is but not quite for me. We have got to stop conceding so many chances. I think we were better today actually than before but still not good enough. I dont agree that Alisson should have saved the 2nd one, i think its mad to expect that. Maybe it’s just that Im sick to death of Carragher, he’s a bit of a twat. Its hard toa gree with someone like that but ya… Alisson should have done better for the first, although he was maybe overly influenced by 2 different players. Perhaps the goal shouldnt have stood. I dont like to see keepers get too much protection though. I think that falls on the line of acceptable , perhaps. Keeper has to be stronger and move on, he’s brilliant for us but he’s not perfect.
Depressing as hell. Salah was marked out of the game. I thought mane played really well but should have scored 2 of those for sure. No complaints against him though, he’s enjoying his football again.

7th November 2021 at 6:42 pm #188607AnonymousThreeps, I felt the same when he said it but I doubt he was actually meaning to say we’re a one man team. Salah is playing to such a high level now that on a day like today, it’d be impossible for any team, even one with a relatively on form Mane and Jota in it, not to notice…
I am only saying that I doubt he meant any disrespect mate π

7th November 2021 at 6:47 pm #188609Yeh Mak, obviously the midfield have been sloppy which doesn’t help. But inevitably teams are going to find how to play you over time and exploit weaknesses. Which means Klopp has to adapt. But will he?

7th November 2021 at 6:47 pm #188610AnonymousNil, great opportunity only in that Chelsea drew. It’s weird to say this given how we beat Atletico both times but I think we’re particularly weak to counter-attackign teams this season. I say this knowing full well that we have played a high line for years now, Im not talking about that. We just seem to leave more space now, we make more msitakes at critical times, in midfield and we are not protecting either the centre or wide areas of defence as well as we used to, from midfield. You’d think it would be one or the other but it’s both and that’s what is alarming.
I think we’ve got to be looking for a new CM. We’ve got to replace Milner and Ox. If we do that with one non-injury prone , top class player then fine. That’ll do.

7th November 2021 at 6:52 pm #188611Spot on Mak. I definitely don’t think Liverpool are a one man team far too many good players to even contemplate that but Salah is the best player in the world and he wasn’t quite at that level today.
“Ya Mikus but I still wont concede the title.” Nor should you Mak I still suspect Liverpool will be in the mix for the title at the end of the season.

7th November 2021 at 6:53 pm #188612AnonymousMikus, it’s that age old question of manager arrogance versus sense. Last seaosn, Klopp let us down by refusing to adapt. In the 2-3 seasons before, he showed that he can adapt.
I havent yet got a sense from Klopp this season that he’s making big mistakes. Last season, I think he lost it a bit and found myself disagreeing with a lot of what he was doing. This is only my own instincts, so they are kinda worthless is a discussion. Without signing a player though, I do wonder what our options could be. I think we’ve got to get into a position where we’re never starting Ox though. I dont want to blame him for everything, as he did get stuck in a bit today. He just drives me mad though. There was a time where he could have laid on a ball to Mane but went for a longshot… drives me absolutely nuts, so Im definitely biased against a player when they choose to try to be a hero, over the interests of the team.
What alternative to be have to him though? I am certain in my own mind that Elliott is the answer. I’ve seen enough to know that he has got it. He’s out for the season though, so what do we do? I think we’ve got to just replace Ox/Milner. Love Milner but he’s too old now to be a main player and Ox isnt good enough. Do that and then when Elliott is fit, let the chips fall as they may.
anyway Im waffling here… its hard to find a solution but if anyone can do it, it’s Klopp.
