Gonna run out of luck at some stage… π
But what about Pool? Kinda thought they deserved a point… almost… but their bubble really seems to have burst… Salah, VVD, TAA… all shadows of players they used to be… is it age (maybe not for TAA!), fatigue? Going to be a long season!

9th October 2022 at 6:35 pm #199643Mikus, I think it’s a combination of us perhaps now on a decline versus teams improving and moving up a level or two.
We’ve not invested in our midfield, the way Man City have and in all honesty, Nunez hasn’t really been on fire and Salah ever since the contract has not been himself (probably before the contract too).
We miss Mane a hell of a lot.

9th October 2022 at 6:40 pm #199644Forgot we have another one….
Nil, no denying you miss Mane, but I think it runs deeper than that…

9th October 2022 at 6:43 pm #199645Several things Banjo. The attack has had to adjust to Nunez but isn’t actually performing that badly though Salah won’t get the same goals he did before. The midfield is aging and is in decline, and our emergency signing is now out apparently for 3 months. And the defence is performing poorly to boot. We look like a mid table side, albeit an exciting one.

9th October 2022 at 6:50 pm #199646Salah and Mane were always pools best players and biggest threats. Mane sold and salah nowhere near his best it’s like pool lost both.
Shouldn’t read too much in change of system but klopp has been so consistent with 433 this switch to 424 is a sign pool are broken right now and he is struggling to find a fix.

9th October 2022 at 6:53 pm #199647Huge win
Big test that and above all else shows we have a little more steel than we used to and thatβs the biggest takeaway for me_____________________________

9th October 2022 at 6:57 pm #199648Definitely a stronger more confident team stevo, pool equalising twice didn’t phase them they just kept going. That front 3 of martinelli, Jesus and Saka looks electric π

9th October 2022 at 6:59 pm #199649Really don’t know if 4-2-4 is a great idea with an aging midfield… and certainly not with no Robertson/and a badly out of form TAA…

9th October 2022 at 7:08 pm #199652I mean I will concede to klopps vastly superior football brain of course. He obviously believes he has better chance of winning the game with 4 forwards, but I can only focus on the downsides, especially given today’s performance.

9th October 2022 at 7:16 pm #199655I think that penalty was very harsh, looked like Jesus dived, we all know Brazilians are experts at that, but Arsenal were the better side.

9th October 2022 at 7:18 pm #199656Lucky, wouldn’t surprise me to see Lampard last the season now. The Everton fans have really bonded to him.

9th October 2022 at 8:22 pm #199658Stevo enjoy that mate. Well deserved in the 2nd half. We were in control when we got to 1-1. We moved nunez left to accommodate bobby fir Diaz. Jesus we only knew they would target the right with martinelli. FairPlay to Arsenal. Fully deserved win. No excuses mate

9th October 2022 at 8:27 pm #199659Great result for Arsenal they’re strong in forward mode. There were glimpses of Liverpool of old but they remain vunerable defensively. City next week I can’t see a repeat of the 4/2/4 from Liverpool then.

9th October 2022 at 8:33 pm #199660Rover, that’s ultimately down to VAR. The person monitoring it makes the call. I wonder sometimes whether there should be a second person in place.
It is what it is and we had ample opportunity to clear the ball in Row Z. Old fashion ways in working seem to have been lost and we’re trying to play our way out against a team with players of electric pace and energy.
I thought we’d be good for a 2-2 draw and I would have taken that against the team that’s occupied the League Leaders position (certainly not in vain).
It’s those fine margins. It blatantly clear where all our deficiencies lie and it’s not solely Trent, or Mane leaving or Salah not performing, or are Ageing midfield. It’s a combination. I feel for our Manager who’s giving everything to the club.

9th October 2022 at 8:45 pm #199662Sean that’s it mate. I’m sort of past caring on referees and barely bat an eye lid these days. The reason why from our point of view is because we have essentially been in decline. That’s understandable because we’ve been spoiled for years. Shame we didn’t add another PL Title (That would have been perfect).
We can’t deny, we’ve had the time of our lives with Klopp.
