Think Gerrard is probably done. His post match interview was basically decrying the players for not listening to his messages when coaching defending that he’s “repeated and repeated” and so will have to keep “repeating”. So if the players aren’t listening or performing to his instructions, is that not pretty much game over for you as manager?

1st September 2022 at 11:30 am #198476You’d expect so Mikus. Where does he go from there if he does lose his job? He won’t get another PL job I’d imagine. Not without first dropping down a league and proving himself again.

1st September 2022 at 12:53 pm #198481Fully agree Ed. Best to be taken on the chin as a learning curve, take some time out and then return by joining a lower league.

1st September 2022 at 8:35 pm #198486So easy for United. Very sadly but Leicester are really very poor. What had happened to them?
Will Rogers survive?_____________________________

1st September 2022 at 9:00 pm #198487Just realized I prefer BT Sport’s coverage to Sky. They don’t spend too much time discussing the first half. Get tired of Carragher and Redknapp. Rio spoke as a former defender and explained leicester’s defensive error well.
Could be the end for Rodgers if this doesn’t turn around.

1st September 2022 at 9:23 pm #198488Before another player intervenes or interrupts, why don’t Madisson be allowed to speak and finish his conversation with the Referee properly?!

1st September 2022 at 9:53 pm #198490I actually think Steve ‘mineral water’ McClaren as part of that backroom staff is making a difference with the coaching changing attitudes and instilling discipline.

1st September 2022 at 10:05 pm #198491Maybe nil. Not able to see the game but Utd seem back to a bit more “stability” of where they were last season of being able to edge out results unspectacularly. What happened in those first few games? Ten Hag try too much too soon?

1st September 2022 at 10:10 pm #198492Happy with that. Just grinding out wins for now. Keeping things tight at the back. Leicester look so poor.

1st September 2022 at 10:18 pm #198493Expected the loss but not through being so poor. Man U really weren’t that good but we showed no desire. Thought Rodgers set us up way too defensively and then waited until 70 mins to change it. Why you would play one of the best defensive mids in the league at CB when you have Soyoncu on the bench is beyond me.
The formation was so negative, Vardy completely isolated, growing very impatient with Rodgers now._____________________________

1st September 2022 at 10:28 pm #198494True Mikus. Resembles to previous management in charge in Van Gaal and Jose being able to grind out 1-0 victories. I do want to see though how they fair against the big-boys.

1st September 2022 at 10:30 pm #198495Leicester been shite for a while now but utd looking a lot better. Some of the passing out from the back today was fantastic with martinez at the heart of it.
Be interesting to see how that midfield shapes up with casemiro coming in but if you look at the starting 11 ten haag put together and how they are much better suited to his style than the others in the squad he inherited, he has made a good start to a big job.
De gea
Dalot
Varane
Martinez
MalaciaCasemiro
Eriksson
FernandesAntony
Rashford
SanchoThat is a good starting 11. The only reason I will bet against top 4 is that only half his squad can really play the way ETH wants so would need a lot of luck with injuries for top 4 imo but still it’s a good start for him. Sancho looks like a player all of a sudden!

1st September 2022 at 10:31 pm #198497Well, could be the crunch game on the 10th of Sept for both managers unless one goes sooner; Leicester v Villa at the King Power. And before that, Leicester are away to Brighton and Villa entertain Man City.

1st September 2022 at 10:34 pm #198500Completely agree Lucky. I think it will take him another couple of windows and a lot of coaching before we can really see Utd playing how he wants.

1st September 2022 at 11:20 pm #198501Rodgers calling out lack of players brought in following 4th defeat in a row.
Is he taking parkers lead and tempting the owners to put him out of his misery?

1st September 2022 at 11:23 pm #198502Ed, Ronaldo to start vs arsenal?
Now the window is done you know all ronaldo wants to do is score goals and he will be a pro for sure imo. That eleven I listed with ronaldo in for rashford could be even better?

1st September 2022 at 11:43 pm #198503Could be crazy year for managers getting sacked.
Parker already gone, gerrard, lamps and Rodgers all on thin ice.
Then we have tuchel who despite talks of a new contract will find himself under severe pressure should chelsea not start playing consistently before break for world Cup.
Who else? Almost always a surprise too.
Conte? Only 8 months left on contract, he is talking about kane signing an extension well he could lead by example. Maybe if results turn, he starts blaming the players, things turn sour and poch still unemployed? 😆
