The marking at corners from Leeds v Liverpool looked like schoolboy stuff to me that’s either poor coaching or just poor implementation from the Leeds players or a bit of both either way Bielsa needs to do something about it pretty quick.
Anyway enough of Bielsa what about last night’s debate on Monday night football between Neville and Carragher where Neville was claiming that Ronaldo is the GOAT.

14th September 2021 at 1:24 pm #185031Oh nine don’t go there 😂
Best for me is maradona
He was absolutely kicked around in a very strong defensive league in Italy abd won 2 league titles with a very limited team on absolutely horrendous pitches
He literally won the World Cup on his own
I prefer Messi over Ronaldo as I love watching Messi but Ronaldo is phenomenal
His stats are unreal. He’s been tested in different leagues. No doubt he will get near to 20 pl goals this season

14th September 2021 at 1:25 pm #185032“He’s definately pissed, he thinks Chelski are going to drop points this weekend… 🙂”
More nonsense from Chucky@11:07am the King of Nonsense and the King of the Trolls on FD.
Here what I actually said.
“Derbies are unpredictable at the best of times and Spurs will be looking to bounce back after a suprise defeat v Palace.
The poor performance from Chelsea v Villa was very much influenced by the 6 changes with so many key players missing I think we’ll probably see a stronger Chelsea team v Spurs but it will be a difficult game, Spurs have already beaten City at home.”

14th September 2021 at 1:38 pm #185036Pagan, should Leeds have won more points last season? He clearly shown he can manage a newly promoted side to mid table in prem that means he has shown to be capable at this level. Why do we focus on particular negatives rather than the whole? Nobody is perfect and if they were they wouldn’t agree to manage a championship club would they? 😉
Until he finishes below par he doesn’t deserve this criticism imo he has been nothing but a positive for Leeds and the Premier league.

14th September 2021 at 1:48 pm #185037So did Sean wilder
What about Burnley or Bournemouth etc
All did well playing well some for years doesn’t make any of the managers as good as the top ones which I’d likely why none have a top jobMakes Arteta even more of a piss take 🤣

14th September 2021 at 1:56 pm #185038Interesting take from me here 9. I would have no problem if they overturn the red, as it was clearly so unintentional. I stand by my assessment though, that of you go to ground and cause such an injury, you should be given your marching orders for that match at least. I was releived to see ref watch agrees with me, because the wider internet and even my social consensus seems to be it was a fair challenge.

14th September 2021 at 1:59 pm #185039Lucky, he’s obviously a very good coach, but then so is Jose. In Jose’s case he’s not kept up with the trends and how to negate them and then impose modern tactics yourself. In Bielsa’s case, as I’ve said he hasn’t either updated his tactics, or hasn’t the talent pool to take on subtle new things. I would probably go for the latter.
I will say though being a good coach is different to being a great tactician……..Pagan

14th September 2021 at 1:59 pm #185040Yeah stevo but that comes back to the question “who is saying bielsa is amongst the elite in the first place?”
Why are we expecting more from bielsa than he has given? Why are we expecting more from teams like Bournemouth who merely survive for a few years? These things need to be considered in the context of the resources they have. We are all spoiled on these pages, not so much banjo and stevo anymore but rest of us support elite teams with elite expectations. Can’t be projecting our expectations on teams with far less resource.

If you stopped all the stupid comments Chucky there would be no confusion here’s another one in response to my original post “You can play “nice” all you want, Puppy, but anything less than 3 points for your mob will be points dropped…”

14th September 2021 at 2:10 pm #185043Interestingly in a recent interview with Roy Keane with Gary Neville, I think Keane basically said he set himself too high (and so unrealistic) target when he was manager of Sunderland, and he should have seen survival was a high enough target in terms of where the club were at that time.
From minute 4.00 here onwards quite interesting…

14th September 2021 at 2:53 pm #185045To be fair Bielsa got Leeds up when others have failed to get Leeds up and it’s good to see them back in the PL and finishing half way last season was a good outcome even though they lost almost 40% of their games whether Bielsa can keep Leeds up in the medium to long term and perhaps more importantly bring them on further is open to conjecture Neil Warnock took several Clubs up but struggled to improve on that.
Leeds won’t improve on last season imo if they continue to play so open especially against the teams the ilk of Liverpool and United and remain disorganised defensively those are the two areas Bielsa needs to improve on the most.

14th September 2021 at 5:52 pm #185048Re that debate about the best ever for me Maradona first, Pele 2nd, Messi 3rd, Ronaldo 4th, Puskas 5th. People will always say or vote for the best player in their era of playing or watching but I seen the magic on various channels of the older guys.

15th September 2021 at 11:52 am #185082Leeds appeal against the Struijk red card has been rejected by the FA which prompted this message from Harvey Elliot to Struijk.
Sorry about this Pascal,” he wrote on Instagram. “I think it’s wrong! But It’ll soon blow over brother and you’ll be back in no time smashing it again. Keep positive.”
Top lad is Harvey Elliot. Respect!
