Ah jesus. Well thanks LD, Nil.
So it was like that Arsenal kid years ago, or I think that Leicester lad?
Neville said the red was more about the result than the input.. I guess the 3 match ban might not be great but a season and potential career ending tackle…
That’s a whole year of key development down the toilet.
Poor guy.

12th September 2021 at 9:07 pm #184916“Hope this is not as serious an injury to Harvey Elliott as it appears. Didnβt look a bad challenge or a red card in normal speed, but without replays itβs hard to be sure. Just a freak accident, I reckon.” Garry Linker.

12th September 2021 at 9:12 pm #184917Luckily it looks like it might just be a dislocation. Stone wall red card all day. Gary Neville harping on about it ruining the game. Elliots career could have been ended unintentional or not. The lad slid in, lost control, caused a very serious injury. If thats not a red card, then I’ll hear no more of how soft the game is these days.

12th September 2021 at 9:30 pm #184920The main priority now is treatment and rehabilitation.
The game is or at least today’s game in particular was played at such drive and speed, it can take just a whisker of infringement. There wasn’t malice, but dangerous play.
I think over the course of the game after the incident, there was counsel between both sets of clubs and supporters.

12th September 2021 at 9:50 pm #184921AnonymousGood to see everyone’s opinion on it. I’m away from home til tomorrow but might be able see the incident anyway.
On the positives, I made my bet and cashed out 200 euro, my FPL lads hit and Liverpool won.
Really hope what you’ve heard about it being a dislocation is correct. A lad like Elliott has a great chance here this season.
This opens up an uncomfortable discussion for us reds though. With Elliott, I was just content to go into this season but here we are, game 4 and our options are already looking thin.

12th September 2021 at 10:18 pm #184922Mak, Congrats mate π π
I needed anybody from the Southampton game to score yesterday to win a couple of quid, nearly π
I seen a Tweet from the Official LFC Feed about Elliot being discharged from Hospital. That in itself is a Plus.
He played well mate today and happy-go-lucky. At the moment, I’ve been into the thought of how fast our game is being played.

12th September 2021 at 10:29 pm #184924Was out today so missed the game. Good result obviously and as we know our first XI is very strong. Elliot injury horrible and hopefully he can recover soon, though will probably be out for some time. As for the tackle, I think that whilst there was no deliberate intent to hurt there, it was clumsy coming from behind and with the ball being so close to Elliots and the tackler seems to get his other leg wrapped around Elliot which stops him quickly hence causing injury, so I think it was dangerous.
Just goes to show how vulnerable we are now. Another injury up top, and we just donβt really have the quality to come in.

12th September 2021 at 10:39 pm #184925Mikuis, origi wasnβt even included on the bench and ox came on to replace jota in the Bobby role. Shows you origi is completely done and the severe limited options we have top.
Ox was dreadful when he came on aswell

12th September 2021 at 11:06 pm #184926You seen this interview Sean? Quite interesting from 6:30 onwards. Although Klopp says heβs happy, when he says βMaybe that will happen at Liverpool as well [spending a lot of money]β canβt help think he was a bit frustrated.

12th September 2021 at 11:07 pm #184927Sean, I was thinking the same too about Ox.
What does he offer us now? There was just one moment where he dribbled but nothing extra?
He needs to be sold. That’s it.
We still don’t have a Coutinho filled in my view I have to say. There’s individuals, but then there’s individuals just passing by not really making a difference in real time.
Cheers

13th September 2021 at 12:18 am #184929On Bielsa, I like him but I liken him a bit to Keegan. Throw caution to the wind and attack at all costs. I think Bielsa is a bit more measured than Keegan but not a huge amount. Bielsa, I think has taken Leeds as far as he can with those tactics. He might jag a top 6 spot, who knows, but I do doubt it.

13th September 2021 at 6:26 am #184930That’s it Foxy. Bielsa has always been a bit of a favourite amongst the football hipster communities. One of those “philosophy” managers. He’s won very little of note over 3 decades of football management, though.
I’m sure it’s exciting to be a Leeds fan with him at the helm but it must also be incredibly frustrating at times. They’re the most naive team I’ve seen come to Old Trafford for a long, long time.
I wouldn’t want him anywhere near my club but he’s great for the entertainment factor of the league.

13th September 2021 at 7:53 am #184932If I was a Leeds fan I would be really concerned for my Club under Bielsa I don’t think Leeds will get relegated but they are a long way currently from being a top 6 team.
8 goals conceded in 2 games v United and Liverpool and they got away with 3 nil yesterday tells its own story. Defensively they are beyond naieve.

creamcheckbook clubs have risen to the top as expected… does anybody outside the Top 4 have any interest anymore? π_____________________________

13th September 2021 at 8:18 am #184936To be fair Chucky, your lot would have been top had you not been hammered by a poor Palace side who have spent peanuts compared to Spurs. Not sure you can blame everything on the money clubs π. Compared to the likes of Palace, Spurs are one of “them”

13th September 2021 at 8:22 am #184937Bloody hell lads Leeds been out of prem for 20 years and the man who got them back not good enough?
Ed, Leeds would never have been promoted under ole, not just saying that to be hip either π
Nine against the top 4 it does seem suicidal to play that way but competing with top 4 is not in his remit mate.

13th September 2021 at 8:27 am #184938Lucky, what’s Ole got to do with anything? He probably wouldn’t, I agree. By the same token, I doubt Bielsa would have finished 2nd last season with this Utd side. There isn’t a single top side on his CV. There’s obviously a reason for that.

13th September 2021 at 8:45 am #184939Sweedy, it didn’t help our cause when half our team buggered off (we should have invoked the same ego-rules as the other clubs! π ) and are on holiday in Croatia, apart from all the ones who got injured… π
Shitty performance no matter though, turned it off the minute the peno was awarded, fancied us to sneak it out for an undesrved point until then… despite all their huffing and puffing, Palace didn’t really threaten Hugo a great deal.
