Would love Klopp to just come out and say they weren’t good enough tonight. He’s a brilliant manager but his excuses are starting to get silly.

22nd August 2022 at 9:54 pm #198142Yeah, Gary Neville, so everything’s alright and it’s the your favourite buzz word used by everyone else: Recruitment!

22nd August 2022 at 9:54 pm #198143Commiserations lads. Wasn’t your night at all tonight. That’s a different game with Nunez and Thiago. We were very good, for once.

22nd August 2022 at 9:59 pm #198145Not unhappy with the result. Won’t the media love this…a resurgent United and Liverpool in crisis…
In fact if I’m not mistaken that’s just three games..just 35 to go with a World Cup in the middle!_____________________________

22nd August 2022 at 10:00 pm #198146Can’t get results with too many areas not functioning at Liverpool. We’ll pick up at some point, but we might slip lower than the 3rd I predicted.

22nd August 2022 at 10:00 pm #198147First league game we lost in 2022 since Leicester I think. 4 In all comps, so almost impeccable, but like that nightmare of a season during covid, the level of injuries really already have affected us.

22nd August 2022 at 10:00 pm #198148Nike. Not a shambles but a weak midfield but you really miss Mane.

22nd August 2022 at 10:03 pm #198149Not sure how you can justify that Mikus. With Nunez we could possibly have lost by more goals but we’ll never now because he stupidly got schooled and sent off in his last game. The whole team was once again very poor. Elliot our best with a 6, the rest 4s and 5s. Virgil maybe a 3.

22nd August 2022 at 10:07 pm #198151Threeps, just think Nunez would have given Utd a bit more to think about and so worried them more. He’s a goalscorer and we saw the effect Haaland had for City yesterday. No guarantee though and as I say, so many areas not functioning properly.

22nd August 2022 at 10:18 pm #198153Adlab, fully agree. What I would do for a player like Rodri.
We need somebody like Traore or St Maximum. Mane is a huge loss. Gini is still a huge loss. I’m sorry to say Tiago and Keita just have too many injury problems between them.
I don’t what exactly they are doing in training, but 10 players………I’m at a loss.

22nd August 2022 at 10:30 pm #198154It happened to us a couple of seasons ago. Injuries after Injuries.

22nd August 2022 at 11:55 pm #198155Gotta say, that is the most hearty performance from a Utd team in two seasons for me. They all worked hard as a unit for once, which was rarely ever seen under Ole and certainly was not present under RR.
Could this be a turning point? It certainly sets a blueprint to the players to prove that working hard together pays off. They’ve just outworked the hardest working team in the prem!_____________________________

23rd August 2022 at 12:08 am #198156Trent and The Highline has taken some criticism tonight from Callers. I know people will point out the point of the amount of games won and the very least amount of games lost, but an ageing midfield, an inexperienced youngster in that make up and the amount of different center half partners Van Dijk has so far played with…….
Mane a huge loss too for us.

23rd August 2022 at 12:10 am #198157Absolutely Foxy. Teams so far have gone for it which is refreshing and shows no fear. The Top teams so far have been exposed defensively.
I can’t see just a 2 horse race, and no 90 point mark, certainly not for Liverpool.

23rd August 2022 at 12:41 am #198158I still think Liverpool will finish second, they are easily still the second best squad in the league and should finish comfortably ahead of 3rd IMO. I think you are right though, I can’t see this being a two horse race. I suspect City will have a very comfortable lead by Jan/Feb. I do think there are far more dangerous teams than there ever have been this season. So many teams can and will push those traditional top 4 teams I think. Arsenal are playing well and finally have a squad to put away some of those top contenders, same for Newcastle, who I expect will keep building their squad throughout the season.

23rd August 2022 at 5:06 am #198159“amount of different center half partners Van Dijk has so far played withβ¦β¦.”
And all of them are out performing Van Dijk at the moment. He looks like he think he doesn’t need to work hard anymore.

23rd August 2022 at 5:26 am #198160I said Ten Hague is a very good manager, he also looks intelligent as opposed to the 2 previous managers. He selected the best available team while Klopp still puts his faith into old over the hill players like Henderson and Milner. Van Dyke should not always be a certain starter either . If you assured of your place complacency creeps in. I think multiple injuries also played a part.

23rd August 2022 at 6:16 am #198161To all posters…
One game…… there are 35 to go. It will all change again at the weekend.
Liverpool will improve and normal service will be resumed.
We drew at Newcastle and according to some media reports on Monday we had all sorts of problems.
Nothing can be summaized until at least ten games._____________________________
