Sky News are reporting that Roman Abramovich has accepted a Ukrainian request to help negotiate an end to the conflict.

“Ukrainian film director and producer Alexander Rodnyansky confirmed the Chelsea owner’s involvement in attempts to reach a peaceful resolution, but added he is unsure of the impact it will have.

“I can confirm that the Ukrainian side have been trying to find someone in Russia willing to help them in finding a peaceful resolution,” said Rodnyansky.

“They are connected to Roman Abramovich through the Jewish community and reached out to him for help. Abramovich has been trying to mobilize support for a peaceful resolution ever since.

“Although Abramovich’s influence is limited, he is the only one who responded and taken it upon himself to try.

“If this will have an impact or not, I don’t know, but I am in contact with [Ukraine President Volodymyr] Zelensky’s staff myself, and know that they are grateful for his genuine efforts.” BBC News 28/02

Pep Guardiola says that Rodri’s handball against Everton should have been a penalty, if the officials decided there was no offside in the build-up.

The Toffees have submitted a complaint to the Premier League about the VAR decision not to either over-turn referee Paul Tierney’s on-field decision not to give a spot-kick, or at least ask him to view the pitchside monitor to review his decision. Rodri was chasing back into his box when the ball bounced up and struck him on the upper arm, and Everton players, staff and fans were incensed that he was penalised.

Guardiola said after the game that he thought it had not been given as the VAR Chris Kavanagh spotted an offside against Richarlison just before the incident. But the Premier League later clarified that there was no offside, and that Kavanagh had decided there was not enough clear evidence that the ball had struck Rodri above the level of the armpit, which is the border for handball.

Adlab, I did enjoy it. Great game for a final between two excellent sides. Thought Chelsea had the more clear cut chances but mendy eas excellent aswell. Top class keeper

I think we have very special in Diaz and he’s fitted in so well. It was as tough as game as I expected. Chelsea are a top side. We just need to keep going. Really enjoying the season and watching us play. Delighted for kelliher with me being Irish.

I don’t get the fuss over Chelsea bringing on Kepa. It had worked before so why not do it again. Paul Mersin just looking to stir things up. Brilliant pens from both sides and someone was going to miss eventually. Lucky fir us it was Chelsea

If I’m being honest, I thought we got one or two decisions are way aswell. You need a bit of luck to win a cup and we got it Sunday but we were brilliant in spells. Brilliant game
