20th October 2018 at 7:50 pm #27376All that about Mourinho and your answer is Rafa bloody Benitez… There’s my point right there. It’s all well and good saying he’s not good enough but when the best alternative you can come up with is languishing at the foot of the PL table having just lost 1-0 at home, it tells its own story.
Could anyone else get more out of this side? Well it goes back to the previous question again? Like who? Mourinho has made mistakes in his Utd career but I can’t see a manager anywhere that could do much better with this lot? Put it this way Jim, if someone asked you to put together a PL XI, even if you had to pick two XIs. You can pick any players from the league. So, 22 players and can you name anyone apart from DDG from Utd who would be in either of those sides? I can’t.

20th October 2018 at 7:52 pm #27377That was an attacking utd team today. They played well and the 2nd hakf was a good game
It will feel like a defeat for utd and a win for chlsea but plenty of positives to take from the game for utd fans
Very good win for spurs at west ham

20th October 2018 at 7:59 pm #27379Jim, but that’s just it about stats like that. They are vanity stats. Possession stats seem to have become a trend over the last decade. People used to sit in pubs arguing about who the best wingers are. They now sit in trendy wine bars arguing over who has the ball the most of the time and which teams makes the most passes in a game. It’s all completely pointless!
P.S Maybe you’ve misunderstood me re the Ferguson comparisons. Of course we’re a pale shadow of that era. Comparing ourselves to that era is always going to make us look bad. It doesn’t mean it’s time to throw in the towel. We may never reach those heights again. It doesn’t mean we have to constantly be on the manager’s back in search of unattainable heights. It will probably all end in tears but I’ll back him for as long as he’s there.

20th October 2018 at 8:16 pm #27381Ed, I didn’t sugest Benetez should manage United. I said I thought he could get more out of the players you have than Mouriniho. Slight difference? The main stat I questioned was not having a shot on target, you can belittle that stat all you want but for me it tells a story does it not? The 36% just showed that in the first half Mouriniho had you set up to sit back im guessing? unless your telling me you were surging forward and losing the ball alot? Anyway I’m getting bored of this. Have a good evening. Sit back and enjoy MOTD and watch Dyche blame everybody else for his players not playing to the whistle and City scoring a goal. Very funny.

Even with a lot of possession a team can manage to have 0 shots on target. Not sure why first half match stats have become a thing now. Must be on a wind up.

20th October 2018 at 9:00 pm #27385Ye thatβs it nine. Itβs just the final ball and general play up top but great Tim win games when playing badly
Full credit to Huddersfield.they made it very difficult
Huge plus is the defence abd how Shaqiri has performed since signing

20th October 2018 at 9:05 pm #27386I actually thought Utd deserved to win. Chelsea defence were poor when put under pressure.
I couldnt watch City today but it was by all accounts comfortable.
Is there a poorer side at the moment than Huddersfield? They were useless and boring. Too easy for abelow par Liverpool.
Interesting game next for City…Spurs away._____________________________

20th October 2018 at 9:57 pm #27387Adlab, to be honest comfortable is a good assessment of our performance today. Not outstanding, I think once KDB settles again Pep will get quige a bit more out of this side.

20th October 2018 at 10:36 pm #27388Sarri’s reaction after the incident and the way he handled the incident during injury time was class. Just held his hands up and sent the member of the coaching staff to the away dressing room in order for him to apologise. Only for Jose to say he has done similar things throughout his career. All water under the bridge now and hope the FA do not take action. That is the passion of the sport there for you, just impulse reactions after witnessing your side score a last minute equaliser.

20th October 2018 at 10:43 pm #27389Something must have been said to Mouriniho for him to react like he did. Sari is a scruffy git. Clearly doesn’t shop in Matalan more like Sports Direct.

21st October 2018 at 5:17 am #27390AnonymousBoth that coach of Chelsea whoever he is and Maureen were so stupid to react like that. We don’t want embarrassing behaviour like that at Chelsea, leave that to Mourinho his the expert in demented behaviour and giving clubs a bad name. At the end of the day a deserved draw for Chelsea even with that fairy upfront.

21st October 2018 at 6:57 am #27391Jim, watch the video I posted on page 3. That was the cause of Mourinho’s reaction.
Agree with that CM. Dealt with very well by Sarri. Could have easily got out of hand but sending his staff member to apologise to Mourinho showed his class.

21st October 2018 at 7:54 am #27392Ed,I wouldnβt be surprised to see both Coach Ianni and Mourinho charged by the FA Ianni for his inappropriate celebration of the goal and leaving the technical area and Mourinho for his reaction to that celebration and leaving the technical area all of which culminated in the ugly scenes after the equaliser although Ianni was the instigator with his celebration.

21st October 2018 at 8:10 am #27393Morning Ed, I saw the incident on MOTD, your vid has been removed. It seemed like the Chelsea assistant must have said something to me as he came back past Mouriniho. Perhaps the FA need to get their expert lip readers out again?
Couldn’t really see the Kompany tackle during the game yesterday as we sit the other end. But he was very lucky to stay on the pitch.
Not sure the whole ball was out of play for the second City Goal as MOTD deliberately showed the wrong angle when discussing it. But hey ho We had some luck for a change. Normally those things go against us. What comes arround goes arround.
Danny Murphy must be the most biased agenda driven pundit on MOTD, he is truly awful, I don’t know why he just doesn’t sit there in his Liverpool strip!?

21st October 2018 at 8:16 am #27394Mourinho being Mourinho will no doubt mean he gets the book thrown at him regardless. It would have been refreshing if he hadn’t reacted to that provocation but on this occasion I don’t blame him one bit for reacting. I’d have done exactly the same.
