Magnificent efforts from both sides in the run in. That City win was their 18th in 19 games. Ridiculous. Itβs hard to be critical of Liverpool this season all things considered. I said at the time the game at the Etihad was huge at the time and that was the biggest moment in the race this season, psychologically speaking that is. We should have gone for it more in that game but Klopp has been trying to find the balance this season between stopping us being too gung go and being more patient. Cest la vie and to have pushed City all the way in the run is an incredible achievement and bodes extremely well for the future.
Until the European finals…
Have a good summer all…

12th May 2019 at 5:15 pm #40688Yeah, we hope to win the Champions League to make up for this, but I would say that would be more alluded to that horrible night last year. We have the chance to put that right on June 1st. Only then when that’s done, there’d be room for double celebrations with Man City fans.

12th May 2019 at 5:19 pm #40690Mikus, I was thinking about those meetings with City.
Pep played conservatively to get a point. They got lucky with a penalty only for it to be missed so maybe that itself was actually lucky for us.
People point out Leicester, but we were leading at Arsenal only to allow a near post Lacazete effort turned in.
We’ve had our fair share of luck so we can’t really complain, but equally, we’ve won our other share of games on merit and nobody can begrudge us for that.

Can’t believe that. Man they better start getting on the coach now. Those players though I’m sure won’t feel the tiredness π

12th May 2019 at 5:47 pm #40696Cheers for relaying that message from Alfie, Nine.
Can’t be easy understandably for him given todays miserable defeat.
Just a special shout out to take this opportunity to Adlab, GJ and Brian for their contributions here throughout this season. This is a journey, part of life and a shared experience for the game we love and you guys have played your part, win lose, or draw.

12th May 2019 at 6:35 pm #40702Nine, it would be great it the big ‘O’ reformed. Even a cameo at Glastonbury this year, but for that to happen, the brothers need to bury the hatchet once and for all.
Gallagher is one of the best songwriters I’ve ever come across and actually, his original ‘sketch’ of Cigarettes and Alcohol was fetching bids for around 2 grand after it was advertised.

12th May 2019 at 7:02 pm #40704GJ, I truly hope so mate and the pair can sort out their differences. If not for the millions of their die-hard lifelong fans, their children collectively.
I’ve just bought nearly all their Albums from Definitely Maybe to Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants. My regret was that I was a bit young to go to their Gigs in the early and middle 90s, so missed out. Plus that time was organic without any Mobile Phones, Internet and Social Media.
It would just be Incredible if they could reform, and play out all those Golden Oldies even if it was just a pure one-off.

12th May 2019 at 7:40 pm #40706Nil, Great band mate but ego’s get in the way in Bands and then there’s the brotherly competitiveness and some silly things said too.
But the Eagles for instance have got back together more than once as have others and also there would be a lot of money in it too so you can never say never.
One of my favourite bands but sadly one of the few I’ve never managed to see live.
Yet.?

Saw Liam solo last year and am going to see Noel on the 17th of June
Great band but will never eclipse the stone roses in my view.
