GJ Blue, Brian Blue and Adlab – great experience shared on here – wouldn’t change it on this forum albeit an obvious Liverpool Title Win, but for all those stats/facts, we gave it our all against the Best Current English Team on this land.
Congratulations once again – just secure the FA Cup Next Saturday and get us a Wembley Day out for The Community Shield in August π π

12th May 2019 at 4:45 pm #40667Nice one Peggy, walked into that like a ‘striker’ fishing for a penalty… allow me to re-phrase if you will… is the Spuds aren’t involved, I would always cheer for the team with the smaller bank-account…
How about that? π

12th May 2019 at 4:48 pm #40670Are we really going to have three weeks of everybody bar Spuds fans banging on about somehow Liverpool ‘deserve’ it?? Really? Why don’t we just give them the trophy now?

12th May 2019 at 4:48 pm #40671Chucky, yeah I get that mate and I would normally say the same but I just think such a great side deserves some special historical recognition that would come in being the first English team to do the domestic treble.
Also 198 points over two seasons is ridiculous.

12th May 2019 at 4:49 pm #40672Chuckles, as a Chelsea fan, up until lately I was always a big fan of the underdog, and as you, if it doesnβt affect my team I still root for the smaller club, thatβs why Iβd like to see all clubs in the FA Cup at round 1……Pagan

12th May 2019 at 4:51 pm #40675Chucky, not from me mate I think it’s far too close to call but given Liverpool’s season it would be gut wrenching for the Club and Liverpool fans to end up empty handed.
But on their day Spurs are capable of beating anyone inc Liverpool.

12th May 2019 at 5:03 pm #40680Liverpool will push on from this. We are a lot more strong than we’ve ever been but I think we were a lot better when we didn’t have that fake 7 point lead.
John Motson rightfully pointed out earlier today that teams like Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal have a lot of ground to make up.
They will improve and I don’t think 97 points will be repeated again, because of this to a degree, but I’m confident Liverpool will be challenging again compared to previous years when the club regressed.

12th May 2019 at 5:04 pm #40682Chamionees, championees, ole ole ole.
Wonderful feeling – back to back titles. Now to get seriously pissed.
Commiserations to the Liverpool lads, your team were fantastic all season. I’ve said it before, but none of us deserved to be runners-up – but chins up, you’ve still got a CL Final to look forward to._____________________________

12th May 2019 at 5:07 pm #40683What can I say runners up with only one defeat and record points. Genuinly feel for you. But you do have the CL to go for.
What makes me most happy is to shut that Liverpool Echo up…..at least for this season.

12th May 2019 at 5:07 pm #40684Anonymous“Mak, you canβt get better compensation than a CL Final mate”
It’s the only thing from keeping me from despair. I said it a few times before but when we lost to Barca, that felt like the end of our season. It was all “unlikely” then. Against Spurs I’ve say we’ve a slightly more than equal chance. Today we went in with maybe a 20/1 chance. I’m just happy that we won the match. The lads have gained an experience in futility, whilst still keeping to a certain level.
I think that shows amazing character, it’s something this team has that draws me in so much. We’ve come through so many challenges this season. I think Liverpool have really matured and it shows when they jump a different kind of hurdle each week.
It’s hard not to win the league but we were beaten far fewer times than the champions and we’ve got the CL to switch over to. Now that we’ve missed out on the title, I’ll be absolutely mad for the CL and I think Spurs will have to be at their best to get one over on us.
credit to Alisson today and also against Barca. Doubts were rightly cast on him lately but he’s been just ridiculously solid and his instincts when we’re in a pinch , are out of this world good.
He’s my Man of the match for today.

12th May 2019 at 5:10 pm #40686AnonymousI already said it but congrats to the City lads here, I think we’ve competed in the greatest ever title race. Maybe others will disagree with me but I dont think they would have a leg to stand on. The English sides owned the European cups, so it’s not like the league is especially weak. It’s the opposite and still these 2 teams have shined so much brighter.
im not at all bitter about this. Honestly, Im just too full of pride for a side that I adore. I’ve got nothing but admiration for anyone who can best our well oiled machine. When in doubt , know that our incredible challenge has enriched their otherwise boring title win.
Congrats lads.
