All the guys here of Non-Liverpool Supporters are great. That goes without saying.
We are also here for an aspiration in hope the team we follow will be successful and win silverware so naturally, passion will take place.

13th May 2019 at 7:43 pm #40787Newbalance.
A great and well informed post.
Our overnight success has taken 10 years.
Also dont forget tbe enormous amount put into the facilities but better the development of a derelict area and the jobs and housing that go with it. Plus the substantial rent paid to the local authority which is more help to the City.Result. We get banned from the CL for investing in the club and not having enormous debt and losses. Strange.

Everything is cyclical. Now its our turn but it wont last forever.
Soon it will be another.
Utd had it
Arsenal had it
Chelsea had it
Next it might be Liverpool or another._____________________________

13th May 2019 at 8:13 pm #40789“Even though the moment lasted just 60 seconds, their Supporters were disturbed as soon as they discovered through the airwaves and phone that Sadio Mane put the ball in the back of the net. The fact that Liverpool actually put Man City through that shows they can be rattled.”
Nothing unusual in that Nil it happens every season in these close run ins be it for titles, relegation and promotion the title swung backwards and forwards for a few minutes yesterday and it effected both sets of fans.
Importantly the City players remained unrattled even when 7 points behind as they have done since this 14 match winning run stated.
Personally I thought the title was swinging more towards Liverpool on Monday night until Kompany’s thunderbolt.
It all starts again in August and the fact that very few titles are actually retained tells you things could be entirely different next season and not just for City. Who signs who in the Summer window will play a part as will the contenders retaining their players and then keeping them free of injury.
KDB was a massive miss for City for pretty much the whole of the Season if they can keep him. injury free next season it will be like a new ยฃ200m signing if they can add a couple to him at a higher level than Mahrez they’ll take some catching but Liverpool remain the most likely to catch them followed by Spurs.

13th May 2019 at 8:27 pm #40790Nine, Pep actually credited Liverpool yesterday in his post-match interview for really taking the race all the way. Psychologically, it had an effect on them to be even more determined not to lose their grip on the Title.

13th May 2019 at 8:30 pm #40792We had Oxlaid out for effectively the entirety of our season and he was a midfielder we missed that could drive us forward. It was only when Klopp promoted Henderson to a more advanced role, Liverpool found an alternative winning formula. That spurned the risk-taking from Gini in pulling rabbits out of the hat from nowhere.

13th May 2019 at 8:35 pm #40794Adlab, above all, I like and respect your club, and recognize as far as reality goes, you won’t fall off the Mantle overnight and that it will take some going.
I do have an aspiration to Win Trophies though however. With conviction, I believe Liverpool have progressed over the last 2 seasons. We now want to go that next step further in winning trophies, that’s essentially what I’m sure the club deep down want.

13th May 2019 at 8:35 pm #40795You did Nil and that was very unfortunate but whilst Oxlade Chamberlain is a very good player he’s not at the level as De Bruyne imho and so the impact on City was greater. But as always beauty is in the eye of the beholder.?

13th May 2019 at 8:56 pm #40798“I find it a little patronizing when people mention dreaming.”
That was me Nil I think.
The point I was making was football fans should always dare to dream whether they support Shrewsbury or Spurs, Luton or Liverpool nothing patronising about that buddie it’s what being a football fan is all about.
When I was a kid I dreamt of Chelsea winning the FA Cup and later on in my football supporting life dreamt of winning a League title never thought I would see it though let alone 5 of them and I never dared to dream of winning the Champions League.
April 29th 1970 stood in the Stretford End with my Chelsea supporting mates with all the Chelsea hordes when Chelsea won the FA Cup against all the odds remains the pinnacle of my Chelsea supporting life even though we’ve won the lot most of them multiple times because
Chelsea winning the FA Cup had always been my dream from a kid.Being back at Wembley in 1997 with Dad and both my son’s to see Chelsea reclaim the Cup again was the thing that dreams are made of and something I will never forget with three generations of us there unfortunately Dad never got to see Chelsea win a League title sadly he left us half way through that first PL title winning season but Dad never stopped dreaming.
When football fans stop dreaming no matter who they support it’s time for them to pack the game in mate never stop dreaming I certainly never will.?

13th May 2019 at 9:45 pm #40800If KDB is fully fit for next season it will be like signing a world class player.
David Silva was just beginning to be less effective this season and I feel age is catching up.
Also Aguero is soon 31 (next month). I noticed he too has lost a yard of pace. So there is much to think about.
We also need
A left back
A replacement for Fernandinho
A replacement for Otemendi (likely)
A replacement for Gundogan (possible)
And so on. You cant stand still._____________________________

13th May 2019 at 10:43 pm #40802Nil I wonโt mention this subject again & Iโm not repeating my opinions but you keep saying cityโs success didnโt happen overnight & took years of building. It did indeed but weโre not talking about 50mil here & there, it was massive money season after season. All they needed then was a good manager to gel them & now theyโve got that. Did u see the spendings of each club someone put up not so long ago. From memory city had spent around a billion on players with everyone else way behind.
Anyway we are going around in circles, Basically I believe money is easily the most important thing these days & a lot of others donโt. As you say agree to disagree._____________________________

13th May 2019 at 11:20 pm #40803Oz, no worries mate all good.
This isn’t directed towards you, but speaking aloud in general, although of course financial power plays it’s part, it most certainly isn’t a barrier by a long chalk.
I’d take a guess that City have been a bit savvy in how they operate with Transfers and Wages against FFP. I don’t know if they could be up for investigation, but that’s a separate matter.
There is plenty of money in circulation now for Premier League Clubs. I know Leicester for example have a fair bit themselves. You are right though that some clubs have it greater than others and can manipulate a players future in the example of being able to offer him more money or a lucrative deal (Perks).
What I have seen is that we are developing good players into Top Quality Players. How good is Sadio Mane now? For me, World Class meaning he would attract any of those Stella European Clubs. Gini Wynaldum too would get in any of those teams in my view, too.
We have added ourselves by proving to be clever in selling Coutinho and buying Allison and Van Dijk. Look at the money spent too Keita and Fabinho who has been immense for us. We have young players coming through in Gomez and Trent. I’m sure we will buy.
30+ years ago we were this creation of being dominant in spending power, though in a league a lot less commercial. I know it’s gone progressively mad since and I’m with you generally on how Sport is a business. The difference now is that we finally have a settled Manager who has made progress with the club and our Owners giving him the financial backing he needs to turn us into trophy winners. I’m sure it’ll happen sooner than later.
Cheers

13th May 2019 at 11:37 pm #40804There’s a lot of mention about KDB, but personally from having watched City, for me, there’s just an array of individuals that could be mixed in.
I think though the beauty of this in what Pep stuck with is a cluster of regular starters. This could be perceived as a fulcrum or the spine of the first 11.
Kyle Walker one of the standouts; how many games has he started? Aymeric LaPorte?
Bernardo Silva? Ilkay Gundogan?.
It’s incredible just to think the mix: Fabian Delph, Danilo, Riyad Mahrez, Zinchenko, even young Phil Foden. The tweaks made injected something that little extra in conjunction with the experience older heads in Augero, Silva and recent appearances from Captain Vinny.
This Mix of individuals in my view makes up one of the Best Squads in Europe.

14th May 2019 at 10:09 am #40815Anonymous“Sean if we donโt spend we will fall behind. You canโt compete with city without spending”
Oz, I think it’s more important for City to spend. We have a young team, they have some players who will need to be replaced over the next 2 years. They might be more complete now but if both teams were hit with a 3 year transfer ban, we’d definitely fair better over time. Looking at our side, we don’t need to go and buy a whole host of talent. I think we’re at a stage now where you would be hard pressed to find a weakness in our first 11. You can always improve and I’m sure we’ll add 1 or 2 but there’s no major overhaul required.

14th May 2019 at 6:28 pm #40839Sean, I think things like this are probably best left off here.
I don’t condone what the City players were singing but I honestly don’t think it was about Sean Cox or that anyone would sink that low.
There’s not a lot of love lost between both Club’s given what happened last season but this is a step too far imo despite perhaps the understandable delight in securing the title and a few too many beers an apology and withdrawal would be good from City.
