20th January 2020 at 5:20 pm #61084Waspy-You have waited & suffered for far too long, matey.Ill join in the celebration if there is Irish whiskey on offer.Klopp deserves to be the one to deliver it,the man is a joy to behold, has charisma,is humble, down to earth, improves players, and doesnt waste billions on players, then getting sacked every 18 months or so.
ps;not just any whiskey mind,Jameson or Redbreast 15.

21st January 2020 at 8:25 am #61104AnonymousNine, I honestly don’t think Liverpool could have recruited much better. For FSG to know enough to get Klopp in, then to promote Edwards to Sporting Director. Klopp then falling out with his long term partner in crime made me pretty nervous. I was wondering how much of the football we saw from Liverpool was Busan’s and how much was Klopp’s. At this time we were learning how to defend 😛 but they went and got Ljinders back and hot-damn! as the Americans would say, we’re a much much better team now.
It’s a bit unreal. We’re all sitting around wondering when we’re going to wake up. Liverpool fans need to remind themselves that the club’s running will never be this smooth/efficient/amazing as it is now, from top to bottom. From the board to the pitch…
Ed, what you’ve said is dead in line with me regards to Utd. They are huge making mistake after huge mistake with their appointments, new contracts, firings etc… At least one of the Glaciers was apparently a football fan BEFORE they acquired Utd. I think I remember that it was himself who convinced his dad that it was a good market to get into. I don’t know if he’s running the club now but he’s going to be watching and you’d expect a fan to have that extra bit of knowledge that might lead to successful problem solving within the club.
I’d love to be a fly on the wall when they talk about the running of the club.

21st January 2020 at 8:30 am #61106AnonymousSteveo, you might well be right! I’ve at least moved my position up to “Ok lads, it’s pretty much over”. This was a big step for me!

21st January 2020 at 8:33 am #61107to be fair Mak thats a BIG step for youy, TOTALLY understand pool fans ethos tho, so many false dawns and a lot of ribbing because of it, this is totally different, there is no “race” your team are setting new records every game and are so far clear its not fair on the rest of us 😉
be proper good for you all once its done and dusted and all those years of hurt are washed away
at the other end tho…we are still crap! 😉 🙂

21st January 2020 at 8:53 am #61113AnonymousYa, it does feel different alright, I’ll admit that. That feeling might dissipate after the Wolves match but I tell you, if we win that you’ll see the last squeaks from peoples bums, as they sit back in their chairs, especially if City drop points, which they may well do.
As for Arsenal, it’s alarming to see how close you lads are to the bottom 3. There are however loads of other teams in between you. I’ll be honest, I’ve not watched Arsenal since Arteta took over but it doesn’t look good so far. He’ll need serious backing though and time. Unlike Ole, he’s got some experience as the right hand man for one of the best managers in current world football. Pep wouldn’t hire a fool for this job and he’ll definitely have soaked up some knowledge. It is of course down to his communication skills and how well he can get that information out to his players.
Aubameyangs sending off and suspension hasn’t helped things but when he comes back, if Arteta is smart enough to play him through the middle and focus all his efforts on getting goals out of him then he’s at least making best use of his best asset. After that ye’ve just got to get to summer and back the hell out of Arteta in the market. This is no time to penny pinch.

21st January 2020 at 1:34 pm #61144It was actually 15m loan with the option to but for 40, structured in such fashion to screw PSG who were due a % of the profits of anything over 30…. or I think it was 30… not 100% sure about that part.

21st January 2020 at 2:01 pm #61148It was/is indeed.with the aim of preventing PSG from receiving a % of sale to Spuds,so £55m indeed.
