5th November 2018 at 5:29 pm #27919City boy, good point about derbies and I think that’s a problem for the London club’s there are just too many London derbies.

5th November 2018 at 7:25 pm #27921Wasplicker-While United have the ability and quality to beat anybody on their day, like 27 says,if United play like they have been playing so far, especially in the 1st half,we will get spanked.

6th November 2018 at 1:50 pm #27937Can you believe it…. Anthony Taylor to referee the derby! He’s a Utd supporter. Mind you I do believe it. Not me being paranoid either. Check him out if you dont believe it

6th November 2018 at 3:46 pm #27945Is Taylor really a United fan? I thought Refs had to name the team they support. Been better to have avoided a local man though.

6th November 2018 at 3:57 pm #27947He says he supports Altrincham. All his family support Utd.
I would say exactly the same if he supported City.
You could have put your money on this. We always have problems with him.
We really will be playing 12 men._____________________________

6th November 2018 at 4:07 pm #27948Don’t trust Taylor lol
Michael Oliver is hands down the best ref in the league
Mariner isn’t bad but Pawson, friend , moss and Atkinson are dreadful in my opinion
Refs have a tough job but the amount of clear cut stuff they miss is poor

6th November 2018 at 5:30 pm #27952Definitely would have been better to avoid a local man. He could easily support either of the Manchester clubs. None of us know. Certainly never known him to be overly lenient to us. If anything, I think this will work against us as he’ll be aware of all the City fans’ complaints and could easily be more on the side of City as he would be terrified of having his integrity questioned. Either way, silly decision.

6th November 2018 at 5:40 pm #27953If i was a City fan, would just sit and enjoy the season. On current form City should be running away with the game. But you can’t rule out an upset. But the way City is playing now. I wouldn’t be too keen to face them. This game will be attack vs defense. And chances will be few and far. Mourinho will not be stupid to open up away to City. The referee will have little impact on this game. The onus will be on City to break them down.

6th November 2018 at 5:47 pm #27954Mourinho could be the ref and City should still hammer this Utd team. There’s just so much between the sides at the moment. These next two games will be painful I think. De Gea probably the only player that would get in either City or Juventus side so I would be amazed if Mourinho pulls out a point from either match

It is known who he and his family support.
My issue is why not another ref.

The CL, United will progress comfortably as they will have enough to beat Valencia and Young boys which will guarantee their qualification. But the PL is a different story.

6th November 2018 at 7:23 pm #27963Adlab, all that article says is that City fans say he supports Utd. Do you have any decent source that is not a City fan on twitter or a City fan site that says he supports Utd? Like I said, either way, I think that can only help you more than it can help us as all this fuss will have him scared of having his integrity questioned and will probably subconsciously be harsher towards us.

6th November 2018 at 7:55 pm #27968AnonymousGroundhog Day! Lol.
If it helps, Ed, one of the broadsheets investigated this a couple of years ago and wrote this:
This isn’t the first time Taylor allegiances have been questioned but I did speak to the Altrincham chairman, Grahame Rowley, on Friday and hopefully it might convince a few people to see the latest controversy for what it is. “Anthony has always been an Altrincham fan,” he told me. “Even now, he gets a season ticket every year to support the club, despite the fact he can’t go to all the matches. He has helped with refereeing schools at the club and he is often at the ground. People around here always ask if you’re a Red or a Blue. He’s actually a great advocate for non-League football and he should be praised not criticised.”

Each to their own.
