Adlab, as 999 said, I think City’s squad is probably strong enough to cope without even their best player. After all being without KDB didn’t seem to affect you too much so far. A midfield of 2 Silvas and Fernandinho, and still having Gundogan in reserve is not too bad a position to be in. Of course if there was another injury…
As for Liverpool coping without Salah, a bit like Chucky says about Kane, I’m not sure we would currently miss him too badly as he’s not really contributing much at the moment. Arguably Shaquiri could offer just as much at the moment. I think Chelsea would definitely miss Hazard having said all that.

4th November 2018 at 3:14 pm #27893What terrible way to start your toughest fixture of the season. Only to score an own goal?

4th November 2018 at 3:27 pm #27894AnonymousAdlab – spurs current injury list is the equivalent of city being without Laporte, Mendy, Fernandinho, his back up, David silva, KDB. Add to that losing ederson, aguero, sterling at other points of the season. I will add as well that our record without Kane is actually very good.

4th November 2018 at 3:49 pm #27895“The outcome may well depend on the strongest bench” Very true that’s why everyone makes City favourites for the title Adlab.?

4th November 2018 at 7:15 pm #27897I was at the City match to day, difficult to pick a man of the match but Augerro’s work was impressive. Despite the score, and it could have been more, Southampton really tried and you have to give them credit for that but were overwhelmed by city as a team, they just did not know where the next threat was coming from. City are beginning to settle and pleased youngsters beginning to get game time

4th November 2018 at 7:23 pm #27898paxton….the answer to your point about squad difference and injuries, well, you should have invested in players to strengthen your squad in the summer. Our problem, if it was one, is makeing sure the changes are effective to keep the pattern of play the same, but Pep is better at it than I am so I will leave it to him!!!!

4th November 2018 at 7:26 pm #27899I’ve got to say some of the stuff that’s been thrown at Morata on the Chelsea site by some over the past 12 months has been pretty awful albeit Morata has struggled for form there’s always been a player in there .
I’m not saying Morata is completely out of the woods yet but the injury plus the goal drought drained him and football is all about fitness and confidence.
Congrats to him on not throwing in the towel and I hope he can build on this run of goals.
Tough game and we weren’t at our best and Palace were as dogged as they always are when they play Chelsea but Hazard swung the game back our way when he came on and both goals were brilliant takes by Morata as was Pedro’s.
Well done to Sarri in equaling the PL unbeaten record for a new Manager typically of him he said it was nothing to do with him it was all down to his players.
Another 3 very important points towards hopefully a top 4 place and getting back into the Champions League!?

4th November 2018 at 7:31 pm #27900Very impressive win by City sets up the Manchester Derby nicely. Tough week for United away to Juve and away to City across just 5 days.

4th November 2018 at 8:28 pm #27902AnonymousBrian – I’m not looking for answers. We’re performing (points wise) brilliantly. Continuing to punch well above our weight. However I agree spending would’ve made a difference. What I was responding to was adlab saying KDB is out again, how would spurs cope without Kane? We’ve had many matches without Kane and also more than half of our first team so I extended the question to how would city cope without all those players, not just KDB.

4th November 2018 at 8:53 pm #27903Paxton…I guess it is one of those “what if” question that has no answer to it, we fans like to dream up these points I have been guilty myself in the past and I try and keep to reality now. History, I forget player / team comparison I can never understand. The one thing I sometimes think about is if a player like say Kane,or Augerro or Hazard would be any better in another team or you could say. What player would you like to see in your current team that would make a difference. All interesting stuff Paxton, like your post

4th November 2018 at 9:02 pm #27905Spurs have played a lot without Kane overvlast two seasons with son staring upfront. They haven’t lost many games from what I can remember
You see today what a difference hazard makes to Chelsea. Few seasons ago Liverpool lost mane for a while and we drastically went down hill
I think the point is city can bring in top top quality to replace kdb in Bernardo Silva. Liverpool would find difficult to replace any of the top 3 even though Shaqiri is an option now

5th November 2018 at 6:33 am #27909Sean @8:02pm haha, we’ve literally got probably the two hardest fixtures in world football in our next two games! I’ve no idea where you get all your faith in Utd winning. We’re scraping past teams at the moment. These two are on another level

5th November 2018 at 6:45 am #27910All I’m going to say is if “Lad’s, it’s only Tottenham!” can go to Maureen’s house and spank his bottom I only fear for his ability to sit-down after visits to Turin and Manchester… 🙂

5th November 2018 at 10:20 am #27911Sean, you now predict a United win no matter who the opponent. 🙂
If United play like they did in the first half v Bournemouth they will get well and truly stuffed in both games but I wouldn’t put it beyond Mourinho being able to dig a result out in those games but it won’t be pretty. 🙂

5th November 2018 at 1:58 pm #27912999…well after every Chelsea win, and there have been a lot of them, you have said ‘Another 3 very important points towards hopefully a top 4 place and getting back into the Champions League!’
With the start you’ve had this season a top 4 place ought to be the very least of your ambitions. While I accept finishing higher than City might be taking optimism a touch too far, you are currently the 2nd best side in the country, so stop trying to kid us that 4th place is all you’re after! ??

5th November 2018 at 3:18 pm #27915Hightown, bit different mate and to be fair I’m speaking honestly about my own team.
The Chelsea objective this season is to get back into the CL by finishing in the top 4 or by winning the EL.
Tbh I’ve been suprised how well we’ve started especially as we are playing a different style of football under a new Manager who has been at the club less than 4 months versus his counterparts who now with the exception of Emery know the PL over 2/3 years plus.
Chelsea are still short of a reliable striker if Morata can be that player I wouldn’t rule Chelsea out of finishing in 2nd place but I just don’t think Chelsea or anyone else will be good enough to catch this City team just yet and even should Chelsea ultimately be proven good enough to finish 2nd it’s still only a place in the top 4 which is the original objective. Which is why I honestly say another 3 points towards finishing in the top 4 and even with the good start Chelsea are still only 4 points above Arsenal so even reclaiming a top 4 spot won’t be easy with so many points still to play for. Also a top 4 place doesn’t mean 4th place but I would settle for 4th place now if it was on offer.?
