4th November 2018 at 8:45 am #27876So right at the top and yday shows why Liverpool won’t win the league. We didn’t play great but we should have seen the game out
After a great start we will still be 3rd.
We had enough chances to win but so did aresnal. Great game. Aresnal have improved significantly as the season has gone and are a serous contender for top 4

4th November 2018 at 9:31 am #27877Regrettably Sean, we’re not as good as I thought. We’ve drawn most of our clashes with the top sides. Milners goal yesterday was the first goal we’ve scored from
midfield from open play this season. We ain’t winning the league with stats like that!_____________________________

4th November 2018 at 9:36 am #27878Mikus, 3 away games againest spurs, aresnal and Chelsea. We have won 1 and drew 2. It’s not bad at all mate but city would have seen that game out yday. That’s the reason we won’t win the league in my opinion
We had plenty of chances yday and yet we still weren’t great. I still think we are doing really well but so are a lot of teams.

4th November 2018 at 9:47 am #27879Don’t know what to think about our season, no pre-season for most of the squad, the stadium nonsense, the Hugo being a bellend nonsense, the lack of signings, the injury list (worst it’s been since Poncho has been there I reckon!), a badly out of form Super Harry, 4 “home” games vs 7 away (8 next weekend!), the injury list… and yet we’ve somehow stumbled to our best ever start to a Prem season… makes about as much sense as Gooseman’s recipe for extra creamy custard.

4th November 2018 at 10:06 am #27880Sean, we still need to winning those games against the top sides though, not drawing them. Thought Arsenal looked more like the Klopp side yesterday. Our team simply isn’t designed for this more conservative approach.
Banjo, bar the top 6, the rest of the premier league is actually rather weak. As I said above, Bournemouth & Everton are supposedly the best of the rest. Yet a supposedly poor Man Utd team has despatched both teams in recent weeks.

4th November 2018 at 10:23 am #27881Ye but Mikus did you really expect a title challenge? I didn’t
Few new players to integrate and up againest one of the best teams the ol has ever seen. We have dropped 6 points from 11 games. That’s a Superb return. Only problem is Chelsea and city are doing the same. Aresnal have only dropped 8.
It’s a very tough top 6 and city will dominate as long as pep is there in my opinion

4th November 2018 at 11:23 am #27883No creativity in midfield is Liverpool’s problem and perhaps no recognised striker once those areas are addressed Liverpool will be the complete package and have every chance of winning the PL. This season whilst it’s still not completely out of the question I think they will still come up just a bit short v City.

4th November 2018 at 11:27 am #27884I thought we might have had a chance Sean, but I think less so now – unless in the second half of the season, Klopp unleashes the pressing and intensity, Keita comes good & we strengthen in January. Thing is, as I’ve pointed out to Banjo, as good a start as we’ve made, so has everybody else, Arsenal just being 4 pts behind now. So in that context, how good a start is it? Or put another way, how strong is the premier league as a whole vs the top 6?

4th November 2018 at 11:33 am #27885Apologies Sean, I did see you already made my latter point. One positive way at looking at it is certainly that no side currently has an edge, though City I accept do seem to, we have been matching their points total up until recently. So my main frustration is that I actually think there’s an opportunity there, no matter how good City may look.

4th November 2018 at 11:43 am #27886I still think the Champions League might have a big say in the title race if Liverpool get eliminated early on in the knock out stages and City go all the way that might give Liverpool a slight edge in the title race over City.

4th November 2018 at 1:28 pm #27887I think, rather obviously, much will depend on depth of the squad. We have lost a top player for another 6 weeks. How would Chelsea do without Hazard or Lpool without Salah for 3 months or Spurs without Kane? Injuries do and will happen.

4th November 2018 at 1:41 pm #27888Adders… Harry has been playing pants (might as well be injured!), along with missing Van The Man, Son, Wee Viking Fella, Ali, Vicky and now the Mooses & Dier… all very regular 1st teamers…
With all due respect (and I don’t follow your mob that closely!), other than KDB, not aware of any injury issues?

4th November 2018 at 1:50 pm #27889That’s true Adlab and Chelsea missed not having Hazard at both the start of the season and over the last two weeks but City have the strongest squad and whilst it’s difficult to compensate for a player like KDB City are in the best position to do so given the greater strength of their squad.
But some massive games in the CL latter stages alongside the PL games and some injuries to key players would test even City.
I hope KDB comes back quickly though he’s a miss to the PL as well as City.
