28th October 2018 at 4:43 pm #27621AnonymousSaudis government does not sponsor terrorism like other Arab countries governments do. Obviously in every country you have evil individuals or evil groups that commit atrocities like in the USA yesterday. They unfortunately everywhere.

28th October 2018 at 4:49 pm #27623Only just back on the site after being busy with my daughter’s birthday this weekend. Thanks to 999 for trying to calm things down. Looks to me like there were a few petty digs on both sides. Let’s not let this site become like so many others. You’re all better than that.
As for the Utd game, definite pen on Martial but he certainly made a meal of the fall. Could have easily been another from the handball on Keane. Other than that Utd been as terrible as they have been for a while

28th October 2018 at 4:58 pm #27625Where was the pen, Steady Eddy? The bit where the Toffee player gets the ball first or the bit where SuperMartail put his cape on? Either way, the pen should have given to a free-kick to Toffee’s when PratMan does that pathetic run-up, isn’t there a rule about bringing the game into “disrepute” or something?

28th October 2018 at 4:59 pm #27626On closer inspection, probably an undeserved pen but easy to see why the ref gave it. Not easy for the refs to make these calls in real time. Everton got away with the handball though

28th October 2018 at 5:53 pm #27629AnonymousWould say decisions have definitely favoured United today. Penalty shouldn’t have been and smalling should have received a second yellow for his challenge when conceding the penalty. Both teams been poor. Lukaku done himself no favours since being on the pitch.

28th October 2018 at 7:08 pm #27630Not a pen imo but like the Ed said you can see why the Ref gave it given his view Martial went down like he had been shot but they all do it no matter who they play for.
Barca 5 Real 1 without Messi surely means the end for Lopetegui.

28th October 2018 at 8:00 pm #27633Conte to Real would be great news for Chelsea fans as that all but guarantees Hazard stays put. By all accounts, Hazard was ready to leave Chelsea if Conte stayed on and Hazard was probably hoping Mourinho would take the Real job

28th October 2018 at 8:53 pm #27635How good is Ross Barkley? I remember when he joined Chelsea most were writting him off even before he has kicked a ball. And here we are with 3 goals and 3 assists in his last 3 PL games. And on top of that had a wonderful game with England. Amazingly he only costs £15m. He is on course to reach double figures in goals.
Meanwhile i was delighted to see Morata score early. Also RLC came on and did fantastic. I was reading that some so called pundits were advising him to ditch Chelsea. I think he should learn from Barkley. Because Barkley has put down his head and worked hard. And you can see he is reaping the rewards. Also pleased for Willian who i’m a massive fan. He has scored, but was awful in diving. He should have stayed on his feet. Very sorry for Pedro, just returned from injury and another injury at a time when competition is fierce in the team? Not good for him. But he is not one who complains always. Also happy for Fabregas, i feel he will have a massive part to play in our season.

28th October 2018 at 9:48 pm #27636Chelseaman, on Pedro according to Sarri “I spoke with the doctor for a few seconds. He said it was a very strong stomach ache.” So hopefully he will be back shortly.
Agree with you on Barkley lots on our site wrote Barkley off as a waste of money and said he would never play two consecutive games for Chelsea now at just £15m he looks a bargain. The first English player to score a goal in 3 consecutive games since Frank Lampard in 2013.
Same story as above on Morata but there’s a player in there somewhere and if anyone can get that player out its Sarri. Fingers crossed.?
Today’s game was potentially a banana skin because Burnley can be a very tough place to go especially with no Hazard so 4 nil is a super result for us and keeps us on track for a top 4 place. Cheers 999

29th October 2018 at 8:59 am #27638Anonymouschelseaman – the fact that barkley only played 130 minutes last season shows that even chelsea had no faith in him. beginning of this season no one saw him coming in. but for injuries he wouldnt have been given a chance but he has done a brilliant job of making the most of it. people, including myself said he would be a benchwarmer and were proven right. i was bitter because i wanted him at spurs because i knew he was a very good footballer and he very nearly wasted that talent by spending half a season following serious injury sat on the bench. people knew before barkley signed for chelsea that he was an imoressive talent – this isnt something chelsea have discovered. they were however critical of his decision to move for money.

29th October 2018 at 10:29 am #27639I think Barkley has always been very good in patches. If Chelsea and Sarri have him playing like this consistently over the course of a season then they deserve all the credit they’ll get. He could be a huge player for both club and country if he is able to maintain his current level.

29th October 2018 at 1:41 pm #27641Ed, it was a tough move for Barkley recovering from a very bad injury the previous season and then pulling the transfer to Chelsea at the end of the Summer 2017 window because he didn’t feel ready fitness wise etc.
Signing in the January window is always a tough time to sign for anyone made even more tough for Barkley because of his continued fight for fitness and the festering problems within the club with Conte.
He joined Chelsea to win things and hopefully he gets to do that Sarri coming was a breath of fresh air for him and he worked really hard throughout the Summer to get himself in probably the best condition he’s ever been in those two things coming together has got Barkley to where he currently is now from where he was last season.
The credit will belong to Barkley and Sarri imo if he continues to develop as he is.
