The job was too soon for Frank, purely because of his own ‘life experience’ as a Manager. He had practically little on his CV. It’s about developing yourself, progression and building a Profile with Pedigree.
He should really at best been a first team coach and learn the trade with his next move as an Assistant Manager.
The actual schooling is taking place which should come from the FA with an actual accreditation. This should about Tactics, strategies, game management, player management, dealing with player injuries, disappointment, stress, the media, fans and above all, learning and acquiring knowledge.
Anybody wanting to pursue this avenue should really be prepared to learn their trade lower the divisions and build their Credentials through their hard work and achievements.

25th January 2021 at 10:05 pm #174398One guy who I think was a head of the curve for a while was Glenn hoddle.
He was supposed to be a great coach. His ideas were a bit to difficult for some players to understand but Iβm surprised heβs been out of the game for so long
Maybe he could have taken the so called golden generation a bit further. He was doing well with England but came out with all kinds of nonsense which got him sacked
He was done footballer aseell. One of my all time favourites
Shiney, nine…. did you guys see him playing in the flesh at spurs and Chelsea
I think he used to play sweeper for Chelsea. Really loved watching him play
Rodgers is a very good coach I have to say. Still so young aswell

25th January 2021 at 10:08 pm #174399Nil, Lampard is a Chelsea legend abd even without much experience , his appointment gave Chelsea fans a lift. Heβs a hero to all the Chelsea fans and the Chelsea fans were over hours to see him in come in
Be like if Gerrard came to manage us at some stage. He was never going to turn the job down. He gave it a go and leaves with his reputation fully intact.

25th January 2021 at 10:39 pm #174401Sean, we only saw Hoddle at the back end of his playing career at Chelsea where he did play sweeper and was very good at it as Player Manager and he probably started the ball rolling at Chelsea in what was ultimately to happen later thanks to Roman.
But he was a truly great player at Spurs although Shiney is best telling you about that. Cheers 9’s

26th January 2021 at 5:22 am #174402AnonymousThat’s it then many of us will find another club to support, I have now swapped City and Chelsea around, how dare they hurt the clubs biggest legend based on one bad run. Even clubs like Arsenal, United, Barca, the Madrids don’t fire their gaffers on that evidence. I really feel bad.

26th January 2021 at 5:34 am #174404AnonymousThis Tuchel guy had success with 2 teams anyone could succeed with, it’s so ironic that Roman of all people would hire a German who has a strong resemblance to Eichman when he was young. And Marina you had a chance with me now you can go get stuffed.

26th January 2021 at 9:44 am #174412Sean, I get what you mean mate. It’s naturally perceived through a different lens if you’re a Chelsea Supporter and of course, Lampard was highly regarded and did have a good previous season. I still felt he should have had a number 2.
You hit it perfectly on the nail with Hoddle as he would have been perfect. He was a Player Manager back in the 90s and does have knowledge of the game and experience.

26th January 2021 at 9:58 am #174414Nil, what do you mean by, he should have had a number 2?
Second Season?
Assistant? He did have Jody Morris, who by all accounts is a very good coach
Or the obvious lavatorial reference?

βI respect the Chelsea decision, but a huge hug for Frank.β Pep Guardiola.

26th January 2021 at 11:53 am #174418Moose..do not abandon your team Chelsea, You must have a lot of good memories that will carry you through this. As a long standing City fan I have gone through many times when I said , when walking away from a match. “enough is enough”. but I trudged off to the next match, knowing little chance of improvement. City sacked a lot of managers in my timE, in recent years I was sorry to see Mancini and Pelligrini go they both improved the club and brought us to a new era. Frank was always a risk but now it is up to Tuchell to prove his worth in the EPL, no doubt he will bring something different. I think Frank Will become a good manager he just needs to find hs feet somewhere else

26th January 2021 at 12:05 pm #174419Iβm not sure why a City fan is so upset by Chelsea anyway π
Itβs tough for you moos youβve had to swap one billionaire owned club that bought the league snd their place at the top table to another club that has managed to do the same
Lucky your βsecond clubβ wasnβt Burnley or the like π

26th January 2021 at 1:08 pm #174422Moos was originally a Spurs fan, then became a Chelsea fan and he now claims to be a City fan.π
He’s either very confused or a glory hunter!
Of course proper football fans don’t switch Clubs.
Chelsea’s loss is City’s gain though only until his next switch of course.π
