Indeed Nine. I don’t think anyone could argue with Lampard being described as a legend. What’s slightly more concerning is that Silva wasn’t all that complimentary about Tuchel upon his sacking and suggested it was “predictable”.

25th January 2021 at 3:21 pm #174347True pagan, shows the difference in the clubs of Liverpool, utd, aresnal etc with regards supporting their managers then Chelsea
All be sacked if they were at Chelsea most likely

25th January 2021 at 3:29 pm #174349Sean, didn’t Liverpool sack Rodgers a few months into the season after taking Liverpool in touching distance of their first League title in almost 30 years and didn’t they sack Dalglisn a Club legend after winning silverware.
Like I said if Managets don’t get the right results they’ll be in trouble no matter the Manager or the Club.

25th January 2021 at 3:33 pm #174350Ed, “Thomas Tuchel wanted him to stay. He always wanted to keep Thiago but Leonardo didn’t want to & Leonardo is the one with the power” – Thiago Silva’s agent Tonietto
And 5-months later, they’ll get to work together again”
I don’t think they’ll be too much of a problem and Silva’s comments I think related to Leonardo and his relationship with Tuchel.
But even if there was a problem and I’m not sure there is I’m sure they will both be big enough and sensible enough to sort it out.

25th January 2021 at 3:41 pm #174352No nine they sacked Rodgers 16 months after the title challenge . We finished 6th the season after and were tenth in the October when he was sacked.
They sacked Kenny for finishing 8th and ye good pint. I was disgusted and I never wanted Rodgers sacked either.
If your trying to compare Chelsea to other clubs with regards sacking managers then there is no contest
Reds nevilles article on it
Chelsea are out there on their own for sacking managers nine and it has worked hugely for them.
Some Chelsea fans saying Roman had changed his plucky by giving a young manager a chance but that was untrue and I doubt tuchel will last long either

25th January 2021 at 3:53 pm #174353Whenever a club makes a managerial appointment, both parties should use each other to the same extent and there has to obviously be trust as well. With Chelsea over recent seasons, it was clear the director of football had a lot of the recruitment power and was simply using Lampard to oversee things in the interim. So that was never going to last long. The committee at Liverpool was a similar kind of thing that was deployed because the club didnβt trust the manager. But it was disguised as a βcommitteeβ rather than a DoF.
So you need to find a manager you can trust. But then with Roman, that still may not be enough. He just uses people and then discards them. Itβs cold hearted ruthless business. And it seems to work for him pretty well.

25th January 2021 at 3:55 pm #174355Just seen this news (been watching recorded cricket all day). Really gutted for FL and can’t believe Chelsea have taken this option (or perhaps I can if their ‘hire and fire’ history is anything to go by). To sanction Β£200m of new and in the main, young signings, and then be given only four months to get them to gel, really is beyond comprehension. Despicable action by the club.
I wonder if Pep was in charge there and produced the same results, would the course of action have been the same?
Nike19 @ 11:11, must take issue with your claim that City would have taken the same decision. I will state they would most definitely NOT – if that was the case, Pep would have lost his job in the first year of his tenure.
Whoever gets the job best of luck coz you’re going to need it._____________________________

25th January 2021 at 4:47 pm #174357AnonymousThis will be my only post on here, hate forums, and social media but I have to get this off my chest, but im so absolutely F-ing mad about Lampard going I no longer will support CFC. Im going down the divisions. The CFC fans are a joke… really… the fact they were demanding Lampard’s head is simply what morons do. is it any wonder we’re called plastic fans?
I never want to see that Putin co*k sucking bi*ch Roman at Stamford Bridge again. the man is rotten to the core like the Russian state. I absolutely detest what football has become since Roman arrived. Absolutely gutted… Wasn’t allowed to turn it around… we’ll see our best youth sold off now.

From what Iβve gathered most of Chelsea fans wanted frank to stay and are very disappointed heβs gone
His legendary status is in no way damaged abd he leaves with his head held high.

25th January 2021 at 5:23 pm #17436427, A question, would Frank have still got the sack if he’d only spent Β£25m and not Β£200m+ ???? It’s almost like the money spent is way more important than the club’s results, afterall Chelsea are only 5 points behind 4th place
A sad day for football and I hope he’s soon back in football in whatever capacity he chooses._____________________________

25th January 2021 at 5:26 pm #174365Get it out of your systems lads!π
As long as football’s been played results will always determine the future of Managers no matter the Manager and no matter the Club and yes Sean Chelsea have had more Managers than anyone else but they’ve also won more trophies than anyone else too so whose to say their wrong.
It would have been a fairy story for Frank to return to Chelsea bring through all the Academy players and win loads of trophies sadly there wasn’t to be a happy ending.
Yes Ed I’m well aware that Silva’s tweet calling Frank a legend didn’t relate to him as a Manager but it was a very nice touch particularly at a tough time for Frank which is why I put it up. A worldwide legend praising a legend when they get sacked doesn’t happen very often.
If it’s to be Tuchel I won’t judge him on what he’s achieved elsewhere but on what he might achieve at Chelsea.
As Roman said Frank will always be an icon of the Club and whilst it’s sad to lose him as our Manager he will always remain so.
I can only wish Frank the very best of luck going forwards I’m sure he will be back in football soon somewhere and ultimately have a very successful career.

25th January 2021 at 5:32 pm #174366Shiney, good question mate I guess if the Club spent Β£200m after finishing 4th last season progress was expected. It was a worrying run but I think Frank deserved at least until the end of the season. Cheers 9’s

25th January 2021 at 5:45 pm #174367Nine, I never said they were wrong. I said they did it to huge success. My point was Chelsea sack managers much more quicker then other clubs and their model is totally different to other clubs. It doesnβt matter who they are.
Frank was always going to be sacked if he had a bad run. Itβs the Chelsea way and it had worked for them very well since Roman came in. He was never going to get time unlike some had suggested.

25th January 2021 at 5:50 pm #174368Nine, I wasn’t questioning the context in which Silva was referring to Lampard as a legend, if that’s how it came across. Just saying I agree with him. Without question, a legend of the game.
Tuchel will be an interesting appointment anyway.

25th January 2021 at 5:55 pm #174369Sean, “He was never going to get time unlike some had suggested.” If that was aimed at me I still think Frank would/should have been given more time. But fans don’t run football clubs the owners do.
Done and dusted now buddie the King is dead long live the King!π
