3rd November 2019 at 6:15 pm #51788How is that a red card? Ref pulls out a yellow, sees the severity of the injury and produces a red…..Pagan

3rd November 2019 at 6:30 pm #51795Have to feel for all three involved in the incident and those close up in the crowd. Just have to hope itโs a straight forward break with no undue complications…Pagan

3rd November 2019 at 6:56 pm #51801On the replay it looked like a tackle from behind by Son.
Guessing it might be a broken leg. If so the ref is entitled to change his mind. Dangerous play.
99 times out of 100 the fellow would get up. This was the 1 out of 100.One interesting comment I have often heard but not sure I agree is that if Gomez is out for say 4 months due to such an injury so should Son be banned. Thoughts?
For me its too complex._____________________________

3rd November 2019 at 6:57 pm #51802I can’t believe people are criticising Delle Alli. the last two points has been won by two goals scored by Alli. and he scored 2 of his last 3 games. but still he gets criticised?

3rd November 2019 at 6:59 pm #51803The Premier League have said: “The red card for Son was for endangering the safety of a player which happened as a consequence of his initial challenge.”

3rd November 2019 at 7:04 pm #51804The reports from Sky say that the ref changed the card from yellow to red due to the severity of the injury, VAR didnโt overule the red as due to the severity of the injury then Sonโs tackle was deemed to have endangered the opponent.
Now endangered means to put in danger, or put in a situation that may cause harm or damage. So logically that means all trips have the potential to cause the horrific injury we have seen today, does that mean all trips are now a red? Thatโs what they seem to have just said.
As for Son, no way should he be banned, you see that type of tackle many times in a game….Pagan

3rd November 2019 at 7:05 pm #51806Sons was not a red card. The follow up challenge had to cause the damage.
Son clipped him
If anything.Atkinson is a joke of a ref. Doesnโt matter anyway. Hopefully Gomez recovers quickly

3rd November 2019 at 7:07 pm #51808Sean, they seem to be saying that the damage was done by the players boot getting caught in the ground in between the two challenges….Pagan

3rd November 2019 at 7:19 pm #51811Definitely not his fault, itโs a physical game that allows contact, sometimes it is deemed to be foul play, but that was a tackle you see day in day out, just unfortunate with todayโs outcome. Just hope all involved come through it ok, both physically and mentally….Pagan

3rd November 2019 at 8:38 pm #51814Obviously it’s a red card while we know Son isn’t that type of player and he didn’t expect that to happen it is still a bad trip as such from behind with dire consequences so in this case the officials are justified in changing if to a red.
