Nil, Mourinho has said in the last few days he wants to stay on at United past his existing 3 year contract. Klopp is on record as saying whatever happens at Liverpool he won’t stay more than 7 years at Liverpool which to be fair is a long time by PL standards.

7th January 2018 at 1:59 pm #11444This is just my viewpoint and I see this as a slight similarity to my own club, but United need somebody to build a team and who’s going to be in it for the long haul.
I know in the modern day trends have changed because of the way expectations are with owners, but a more healthier blueprint would be an inset of somebody to serve at least 10 years.
Moyes came in, he needed players, then they had Van Gaal, same thing, needing players, and now Jose. Have United drastically improved?
No skin off my nose in obvious ways but if this really is the beginning of an end, then yet another Managerial change after Ferguson which is just uncharacteristic.
Never liked it when my club went through, Hodgson, Dalglish, and Rodgers in the space of 7 or so years.

7th January 2018 at 2:05 pm #11446Nil, United is a poisoned chalice since SAF retired and it takes a big big Manager to be able to take it on it was too big for Moyes and I think LVG might have been to old school .
After SAF and Wenger I doubt we’ll ever see a PL Manager going 10 years plus again anywhere.

7th January 2018 at 2:12 pm #11448” If Pep was in charge at United they will be winnig the league, its simple as that”
Jamie Carragher said that. which means that big big manager is at the other side of Manchester. but also Klopp could go and win the league with United, Conte can go and win with them. the little man has run out of excuses._____________________________

7th January 2018 at 2:21 pm #11450I think they will do. with the resources that United has, they can buy their preferred players. Klopp is working his magic at Liverpool. imagine if he can spend Β£300m every summer? or Conte can spend Β£300m every summer? United’s financial are bigger than that of City. but Pep is bigger manager than the little man. and that is what is making the difference.

7th January 2018 at 2:21 pm #11451Maverick, spot on mate.
Wise fan it would be much better if you didn’t start up all of the same campaigns on here that drove everyone mad on both the Chelsea site and the main Teamtalk site which eventually led to your ban on Teamtalk.
You start with a clean slate on here you often made interesting points on the Chelsea site which unfortunately often got lost in all the nonsense of your anti Mourinho campaign and your various other anti campaigns be a shame to see you go the same way on here.
Just saying mate. Cheers 999

I think United is the world’s richest club. which means they can compete for any player in the world. unfortunately both Liverpool and Chelsea to some extent are not in that league. City spend wisely, United didn’t spend wisely. who is to blame? the person who have the final say in the transfers. the reason as to why City is ahead of everybody is because their manager is head and shoulders above the rest. but if United get a better manager they can overtake City. they have massive following, and massive resource.

Am i driving a campaign? i don’t think so. i think i have a right to point the reality. you may not agree with me. but both Klopp and Conte are better managers but with tight budgets at their respective clubs. that was my point. i’m not anti Mourinho but i dislike his antics. United a the biggest club in England deserve better than they are getting for their investment. when was the last time United winnig the Europa league or league cup was considered a success?

you are right. but you are also moaning. the only point here is. how is City ahead of United? United is the biggest club in England. and in the top 5 biggest club in the world. but the need a change of strategy, and that has to start from the top. Ferguson was annoying but not that crap. he knew when to start a fight and when to concentrate when to destabilize an opponent or not. my only dislike for Ferguson was that he putting too much pressure on the referees and match officials. but other that he was a world class manager. but the current manager isn’t half of what Ferguson was.

They always say beauty is in the beholder’s eye. or you can correct me if i said it wrongly. anyway if we ask the Editor to put a poll on that matter i don’t he will get more-than a few votes. Chelsea under Conte is improving. but i think United under Mourinho isn’t improving. but that is my individual opinion. although there are those that share with me. the only problem i have with Conte is that he falls with his players too easily. but other that he is world-class. Klopp is also world-class. Pochetino is on his way to join that league. then there are the chasing pack, like Eddie Howe, the Huddersfield manage. who are lacking resources but are good enough. i’m a fan of Eddie Howe, he plays enjoyable football.

7th January 2018 at 3:20 pm #11469Wise fan, those of us who know you on here know you’ve been on an anti Mourinho campaign for four or more years even during the title winning Season along with all of your other negative agendas which also included an anti Conte agenda too.
Nothing wrong with you stating your pov providing it doesn’t become an obsession.
Mourinho is an easy target at the moment and fair game but it’s not in anyone’s best interests for you to bring your Teamtalk agendas of which there were many to this site.
Your obsessions, negativity and your interface with other posters were part of your downfall on Teamtalk be a shame if they manifested themselves on here.
I’m only trying to point you in the right direction mate for your benefit take it on board or bin it as you see fit.

7th January 2018 at 3:20 pm #11470As good as Pep is, he struggled to win the league last season with arguably the best squad in the league. I doubt he would have won the league with this United squad. Jose has purchased well, but he also inherited a lot of deadwood.

United last season scored 49 league goals, this season they have scored 45 league goals so far. That is a improvement. The problem with fans like wise fan is, they are comparing United to this City side, if this City side performed like they have done this season in any other season in history, then they would have blown every title winning side away.
