City chairman spoke brilliantly well and everything he said was true, hypocrisy of the highest order rules in Spain. Not too mention Eufa and Fifa.

27th May 2019 at 8:19 am #41502Very true Rover Al Murbarak did speak very well and made a number of good points and true enough City haven’t broken any transfer records, haven’t signed the most expensive Goalkeeper, defender, midfield player or striker other Clubs have done that.
But that’ss not what City are charged with the charge is that they’ve been manipulating and falsifying their revenues which has allowed them to spend to the levels they have on transfers.
That’s what City have to be found either innocent of guilty of.
If Al Murbarak and City can prove that they haven’t manipulated and falsified their revenues this will all go away if not they will rightfully be punished.
Seemingly they have so far failed to do that as the case against them has been put forward for sanctioning by UEFA.
Even if they are sanctioned this case will run and run as there will be an an appeal to UEFA followed by an appeal to CAS but in the interim you can be assured that City will keep everything above board for sure.

27th May 2019 at 8:34 am #415049 real Madrid get money from the state. Surely that’s not on or even fair?

27th May 2019 at 8:59 am #41506Blaze, no you’re right ” Real Madrid,FC Barcelona and five other Spanish football clubs must repay tens of millions of euros in illegal state subsidies, after the EU executive found they had received unfair financial aid from their government.
Real Madrid, the world’s top-earning football club, will have to repay €18.4m (£15.4m), after the European commission judged that an overpriced land deal with local authorities in the Spanish capital was unfairly tilted in the club’s favour. ”
Seemingly though that one’s been sorted although whether Real and Barca etc should have also been sanctioned by UEFA is open to question.

27th May 2019 at 3:36 pm #41534How about this for a “solution” with regards to transfers and net spend and all that malarky…..
Everybody is allowed a “Net-Spend” of say, 75million a year, so basically 75m plus player sales (agents fee’s INCLUDED, that should annoy them and take away some power!), and if you don’t spend it, it gets rolled over so in effect you can save it up…
This would stop the “big clubs” from getting too far ahead, and allow the “small-clubs” to “save” what they cannot spend until the day if and when they get a bit of a windfall, along with preventing clubs from stockpiling players (I would also have a limit of the number of professionals over the age of 21, perhaps 30 max per club!).
BANJO FOR PRESIDENT!!!

27th May 2019 at 4:24 pm #41543Chucky, you’re a bit like Martin Peters.?
Actually that’s basically the FFP 2 proposal of 100m Euros net.
Be a lot clearer for all and a lot easier for UEFA to Police. Good idea to allow it to be rolled over if not used too.

27th May 2019 at 4:45 pm #41545That’s the thing, keep the rules very, very simple, and then teams can’t cheat the system. Too many rules mean too many loopholes. I’d even have a rule about number of players you can sign in a window too. Say, a max of three… give the clubs something to think about rather than just buying every flavour of the month.
#1: Max Net Spend of 50 mil per window (includes all agents fees), with clubs allowed to “save” what they don’t spend.
#2: Max of 30 over 21 players per club (and a max of 4 players on loan, any age!)
#3: Max of 3 incoming players per transfer window._____________________________

27th May 2019 at 5:35 pm #41557The net spend limit would be sufficient imo I don’t think you need to set rules as to how many players Clubs sign whether it be 10 players or 1 player that’s a bit nanny state imo.
I would only limit the over 21 loans the under 21 loans are about player development although you could limit it to Academy produced only players that have been at the Club since under 10’s.

28th May 2019 at 10:42 pm #41716I think a ban is not enough of a punishment for breaching FFP. Say city get a ban from Europe, all that means is it’ll literally be impossible for anyone to compete with them in the EPL. Should be like Chuckster said or at least 50 mil max spend per season for 5 yrs. It needs to be a deterrent.

29th May 2019 at 5:27 am #41719AnonymousAgreed. There needs to be a points deduction. Now, I know what most are gonna say here, so before you all throw your hands up, I am not talking about this season, regards man city.
Points deduction and a foreign player limitation for serious, future FFP violations.

29th May 2019 at 7:52 am #41722Personally I don’t agree with points deductions the PL is won or lost over 38 games on the field of play and points deductions just falsify the outcome.
