Eamonn Sweeney Manchester City – A classless man in charge of a classless club run by classless people.
Why is the Irish press so obnoxious. This is from the Irish Independent
The Daily Mail is bad but this insults our club and its supporters. Very bad form and who the he’ll is Eamonn Sweeney_____________________________

23rd May 2022 at 10:25 am #196280Paul Merson on Klopp:
“If he doesn’t win the league he isn’t manager of the year for me. The EPL is world wide much bigger than the CL.
In addition “Don’t forget Liverpool were put in a Champions League group they could have walked through, and they’ve won both domestic cups on penalties. They didn’t win the games.”👀

23rd May 2022 at 11:00 am #196285Paul Merson is a prat that shouldn’t be paid for his opinion.

23rd May 2022 at 11:13 am #196286I’ve seen and read about this elsewhere online a few days ago Blueson.
It doesn’t alter the fact that Liverpool have won this season 2 trophies. They factually are listed as honours and yes, won on Penalties.
Penalties is not a new Phenomena. England have lost on Penalties in the World Cup and The Euros, Semi Finals. What would Merson be saying then?

23rd May 2022 at 11:38 am #196287For context he said we were put in a CL group we should walk, though most called it the group of death at the point of the draw. He also gives City more credit for going deep into all competitions, than he does Liverpool for actually winning said competitions. He is thick as shit.

23rd May 2022 at 12:34 pm #196289Ah I wouldn’t take any notice of Merson. Two cups in the bag and on the anfiejd wall
Astounding we are even competing with city when it’s no were near on a level playing field
Amazing season but Saturday is huge. City should be winning everything in sight

23rd May 2022 at 1:24 pm #196290Ten Hag. Been there 5 minutes and already “sending messages ” to Pep and Klopp. Not the way to start? Need to get your own house in order first I think 🤔

23rd May 2022 at 1:50 pm #196291Massive congrats to the City fans for yesterday. Unlucky to the Liverpool fans. Massive achievement for anyone to keep up with this City side.
Give over Adlab 😄. This si what he said:
“In this moment, I admire them both,” Ten Hag said. “They play really fantastic football, both Liverpool and Man City. But you always see an era can come to an end and I’m looking forward to battling with them.
“And I am sure all the other clubs in the Premier League want to do that.”
When asked if Guardiola and Klopp’s dominance could end with them in situ , he replied: “I think, yeah.”
He’s hardly going to answer “No, we’ve absolutely no chance of catching them”
Silly to write him off at this stage or to hail him as the messiah, both of which has been done aplenty by various media outlets. He has a massive task on his hands. He, the fans and the club are all very aware of that.

23rd May 2022 at 2:35 pm #196293Ed. Perhaps something on the lines that if I have five new players then maybe…Only joking!
On a serious note how many signings do you think you need?
A fullback, CB, defensive midfield possible striker(assuming one will not play again, like Mendy). Then there are the finances
Do you anticipate any decent sales. We paid approximately £55000 for Haarland and will probably sell Jesus for about £40m,
Thoughts?_____________________________

23rd May 2022 at 3:10 pm #196294Yeah I know Sean, but he’s either being paid to troll, which wouldn’t surprise me, or is just as thick as I say he is. Gives City credit for going deep into cup comps, but none for liverpool for losing the title by a point or winning said cup comps, and completely down plays the significance of the CL. He is paid to give an opinion on football, and it frustrates the life out of me. Absolutely stealing a living.

23rd May 2022 at 3:40 pm #196295Adlab, how much do we need? Much more than we could get in one window, that’s for sure. Eventually, we’ll need a new keeper as I don’t think he’ll be satisfied with De Gea’s distribution considering his preferred way of playing. Priorities will be as you say, a striker, a midfielder, a RB. We don’t have much worth selling to be honest. Maybe get a bit for Wan-Bissaka but it will be a massive loss either way. Martial possibly. Other than that, where we’ll be saving is on wages with all the contracts coming to an end. Estimates have us saving around £50mil a year with all the likely departures of high earners.

Blimey, Adlab, £55000 for Haaland…now that is a bargain. Joking aside though, while £55m is a bargain of a transfer fee for Haaland, £500k a week wages bumps up the cost considerably. Cracking player though, and should make you even stronger.
So congratulations to City and their fans on here, especially gjblues, who I’ve not heard from for a while. How are you, Gary? Proud of my team, and nearly proud of Gerrard’s team yesterday, but over the season there was a cigarette paper between the two teams, and if we can win on Saturday, I’ll happily take our season. Not got a good feeling about it though, as a potential midfield of Hendo, Keita and Milner does not look strong enough to me.

23rd May 2022 at 5:26 pm #196298That’s it Harry. Merson is a terrible pundit. Constantly changes his opinion and thinks he’s ray winestone
Ah hightown, thisgo is a huge blow. Chap has been unreal and really shows sone of the ridiculous opinions last season were complete rubbish. Truly world class
We missed him badly when he went off yday. Hopefully fabhino starts training with the team this week. Always Massine injury worries coming to a final. I think fabhino will make it but not Thiago

23rd May 2022 at 5:35 pm #196300Amazing how much confidence City supporters have in the team, if you look around the staduim the when they scored their first goal they knew they would go on to win.

23rd May 2022 at 7:13 pm #196302Blueson…not for me, if I am honest….First Villa goal..bad defensive play, same for second, at that moment and into the second half my head dropped, Gundogan came on, who I thought should have been on from the start, changed the game and as soon as we scored the first, then, I knew we would win. Villa not great at the back , took us too long to work it out though. happy days!!!!!

23rd May 2022 at 7:20 pm #196303Pundits….it is necessary for them to be idiots to make a headline for whoever is paying them
That is my description, 3/4 of them around a table for a game I am watching, why do we need so many? They get paid a lot of money for an opinion and that is all it is and generally without value
The media just write a headline that will shock…..somebody…they hope, enough of them, to buy the chip paper

23rd May 2022 at 7:35 pm #196305The best one of these final days to this day as a fan is still the Blackburn-United race and Kenny was Blackburn manager. No Mobile Phones as such that time let alone any whatsapp messages. It was pocket radios. What a wonderful world to live in back then.
Somebody either got it wrong or trolled a gag that Villa had found the 3rd. Liverpool left it too late to get the second and we should have gone gung-ho 4-2-4. I think we lack a dimension in midfield drive through the center channel of the pitch and be able to fire shots – where is that guy?
I’m sure there would have been some quarters in the Ethiad nervous, especially at 2-0 down. Villa played a blinder up until the 75 after the subs were made. This combined with City’s subs turned the scoreline on its head. Villa capitulated. Tyrone Mings is one of the worst defenders.
Suddenly, those nerves were restored. We were never Top surprisingly on the Live Table yesterday; once again we conceded. May have been a different set of dynamics that would have transmitted had we be leading comfortably. Fair play to be fair to both Wolves and Villa who had nothing to play for but made a game of it and were professional.

24th May 2022 at 12:03 am #196306I’m not sure why there is even an argument about Manager of the Year. Pretty sure that award is a Premier League award, right? How many cups or European games/comps Klopp has won is completely irrelevant, it’s based solely and purely on the league. Klopp finished 2nd in that comp. For me, it is between Pep, Conte and Howe. I’d go Howe.

24th May 2022 at 8:11 am #196307If we are discussing M O T Y, then what does that say about a Manager guiding his team to 3 finals with 2 trophies already won?
Bring into this the subject of Europe, I read and hear about this all the time that League comes first, bread and butter and all the rest of it which is true, yet throughout the season, teams are aspiring to finish in the champions league or europa/conference etc.
The next quest to conquer beyond domestic has always been europe. Incidentally, Klopp’s achieved the ‘full set’. From our point of view, teams outside Liverpool know about our history and know how much we want the League Title in the current climate to match United’s record.
