Fabregas & Costa
Bruno & Rashford?Maybe not comparable yet, but a top class midfielder & striker can get you pretty far.

30th December 2020 at 8:18 am #172985Great win for United moves them to 2 points behind Liverpool with an Ole time goal.😊
Ultimately whilst 6 or 7 teams are all challenging for the title it will probably come down to Liverpool and City in the final furlongs but you can’t write off United’s chances of joining them with last minute wins like last night’s and what if they pull off another Fernandez type signing in this January’s window?

Favourites for me but I wouldn’t discount utd either. Utd have had on real injuries yet . Ferndes gets injured and he be a massive missPlayer of the season so far for me

30th December 2020 at 10:41 am #172988I can’t see Liverpool
Sustaining a title challenge with our current centre backsOur 3 most senior centre backs are out for the majority of the season
No
One could compete with that no matter who they have upfront_____________________________

30th December 2020 at 11:06 am #172989Sean, but Liverpool are competing with that and 80% of the time they are attacking not defending and they’ve dropped precious few point since the injuries to VVD and Gomez and haven’t lost since Villa away.
January is here now and if deemed necessary by Klopp he can buy a Centre Back.
They are rightly favourites for the title.

30th December 2020 at 11:20 am #172991Nine we cannot get away with it for much longer mate. Fulham shoujd have beaten us. We are not seeing games out like BRighton and wba. Teans are getting in behind us far to easy.
We are conceding goals and chances constantly. Doesn’t matter what we have up front if we can’t see a game out.
Apart from palace we are not taking our chances.
We can’t be expected to win the league with our our only 3 centre backs playing a midfielder defence and two lads with 6 pl appearances between them
We miss fabhino in midfield. We have to do something in January nine. Not making excuses but we have a major injury crisis at cb and if we don’t act now it’s bizarre
Find the money from somewhere as we can’t go in the last 24 ganes with these centre backs

30th December 2020 at 2:57 pm #172994Sean…the only thing i would say is Liverpool still have a better team system of playing and they will cover the CB situation. City never did that last season because our style demanded the CBs play forward and they where not capable of doing it. I think Liverpool will still do it but a few more pressing them this season other than City, which is the only thing that could help us….and winning games of course.

30th December 2020 at 4:03 pm #172998If I express my doubt as to whether there is game-fixing thing going on with Uniteds games,I wonder if people would think I was mad???Just cant shake it,but its 20202 after all, everything seems strange,to say the least.

30th December 2020 at 5:51 pm #173000Sean, the thing that unites all three games is that Liverpool conceded one goal in each but only scored one goal. That’s as much an offensive one as a defensive one.
Fabinho is a very good Centre Back as well as a very good defensive midfielder Liverpool can get by without him in midfield.
The problem is keeping Matip fit he’s not fit and going forwards you probably can’t you either have to make do with what you’ve got or find a partner for Fabinho but if Klopp is really constrained on cash it will be tough to find a candidate that fits the bill. It’s a difficult one to predict.
City have their own problems they’re not scoring enough goals and they currently can’t get Aguero fit or keep him fit and Jesus is sidelined now too with Covid.

30th December 2020 at 10:01 pm #173016I love watching Robertson play he must be the best attacking full back in the world and he’s got do much energy and is going as well in the 94th minute as the first.
Big performance by Newcastle who rode their luck at times and there were some magnificent saves by Darlow
Despite Liverpool being the much better side Newcastle fought really well and imo deserved a point because of that.

30th December 2020 at 10:27 pm #173021Brian, haha, needed something special tonight. Somebody just to take a long ranger.
No easy ride essentially for any team, though United have been winning and they have a chance now to level on points.
Newcastle to be fair read the situations well when it mattered.
Brian, it’s nothing wrong if it’s not at the expense of your own club. We’re losing too many points and teams now are catching up. Nobody really above all is pulling away and it’s just in unique a very unusual turn of events so far.
