Extremely unfair expecting this Chelsea side to challenge for major trophies in the near future-need to give them time.

4th January 2021 at 6:02 pm #173286Yeah maybe I’m just being harsh. If he doesn’t win anything and misses top 4 and he’s still there next season, I’ll happily admit I’ve got it very wrong and that Roman is indeed mellowing 😊

4th January 2021 at 6:56 pm #17328727, I was talking to a lifelong Chelsea supporter over the New Year, and he suggested Frank should make a call to Glenn Hoddle , he’s been a manager of club and country and only left that job because he expressed his beliefs rightly or wrongly.
What’s your thoughts on someone like him alongside Frank as like a lot on here I feel he needs at least a season maybe two to get the new players at their best?_____________________________

4th January 2021 at 7:06 pm #173288Jesus Henderson at centre back now.
It will be absolute maddness if we don’t sign a centre back or do something considering he doesn’t trust Williams or Philips

4th January 2021 at 8:05 pm #173291Shiney, the Club’s changed a bit since Glenn was there but Glenn knows his way around it.
I really enjoyed him at Chelsea when he was Player Manager good call imo Shiney . He always make a lot of sense when I hear him analyse the game too.

4th January 2021 at 8:54 pm #173294Ah nine I think those days are gone
That was awful from us. Like we saw at BRighton, wba and Fulham.
We have seen it a lot this season. Really sluggish. Sloppy and second to every ball
Very poor and I think the belief is disappearing as I reakky don’t think we will come back and win tvis

4th January 2021 at 10:07 pm #173300AnonymousEd… Among all the BS I post I did write this on 9th December to you… United are 5 points off top spot and starting to hit some kind of form. Tighten up the first half and a run as seen at the end of last season is a real possibility. Fernandes in midfield, Cavani, Rashford to hit form, Martial scrubbing around the mud for any kind of form… Lots of players yet to hit top form.
The top four will be a crowded competition this season. there was some gibberish that followed. but United in a good spot and pogo all of a sudden looks interested.
Win that game in hand… cough cough… Still think City are looking ominous but, given how stupidly close this league is, not sure any m.

4th January 2021 at 10:10 pm #173301That was like Rorkes Drift in the second half and a mix of heroic defending and luck kept Liverpool out who aren’t themselves up front lately.
It has further opened up the title race though.
I was sure that Liverpool would win tonight after two disappointing results playing against an injury hit Southampton.
Southampton only 4 points off Liverpool now.
What a great job Ralph Hasenhüttl has done at Southampton and credit to the Southampton Board for not sacking him following that 9 nil Leicester defeat.

4th January 2021 at 10:14 pm #173302AnonymousSean… It’s happening to everyone. Those wont be the last points Southampton take of the big boys… That Ings when fit is an absolute game winner. I thought he was talking trash when he said he’d score as many as Mo Salah when he left. Obvs got injured last season but not many more strikers in Europe showing his form.

4th January 2021 at 10:24 pm #173303Good to see ings doing well 442 mate
Such a pity what happened at Liverpool. I think him and salah got equal goals last season?
Whatever we had is gone at the minute. We are playing far to slow.
Klopp got it wrong tonight. Taking Henderson out of midfield. Setting ox and Thiago together when both are not fit
We need to find the money or do something to buy a centre back. Maddness we are playing two midfielders at the back
That’s one problem. The other is we look toothless up top at times.
Still long way to go and hopefully we can bounce back
Something is not right at all though

4th January 2021 at 10:31 pm #173304Southampton deserved their win tonight. They defended out of their skin, especially the second half. They just seemed genuine in work ethic and attitude and you could see how much it meant to their Manager.
When you’re going through a bit of a slump, this gives opposition teams going into the game more confidence. Who’d want to play Newcastle and Southampton back to back?
Instead of pushing further as I’d hope, we’ve allowed our opposition to close the gap. Man United only need a point from their game in hand and I believe Man City can overtake us if they win all their games too and these teams are in form.
Trent I am fed up with. Lazy and casual when it comes to defending. We need a new Right-back. He’s not shown any responsibility in leading a threadbare defense unit. Robertson is the only consistent party. Our defensive woes are being exposed and capitalized on because of our lack of not being able to find the net, teams have found a way to thwart us if we either don’t score or not 2 goals in front.
Our midfielders are used as defenders. Fabinho’s a midfielder. Tiago needs more game time. Ox is lost and what on earth is Shaqiri?
We’re missing Jota and we’re missing an alternative dimension of play such as taking shots outside the “D” Who does this? Henderson? Oxlaid? We’ve got some tough games coming up.
I’m glad there is a cup tie this Friday. The way things have been I expect us to be really fired up and Win.

4th January 2021 at 11:45 pm #173306Sean, we may have to disagree a little on this one mate.
Not so much a write off, but perhaps taking him out of the starting 11 giving the guy a break. He’s given the ball away and his positioning should have been much better on that first goal.
The problem is we don’t have that many at the moment who are either ready or somebody we can rely on. Milner’s starting to show his age now and he’s not a right-back.
Our Dynamics have been disrupted. Our midfielders should be playing where they are instead of defense. We have been toothless at the top mate, you’re right. But it seems to be Mane being the only raging bull. What about Firmino and Salah? We’ve been missing Jota.
It’s so weird ever since the 7-0, our goals have dried up. We need to shake all this off and win our cup match this Friday.

5th January 2021 at 8:06 am #173307Gday all, hope everyone is doing well. I haven’t watched a game all season & only see the results on the news etc. A mate of mine ( manu fan) reckons if you can bet on something it’s rigged, sport no exception. He pointed out the Leicester miraculous win after Chelsea & city bought all those players & dominated the league for a few seasons. Also reckons Liverpool win was rigged as they haven’t won it for so long.
He predicted at the start of the season manu will win it as it’s all about money & with them being so popular worldwide it’s good for the league to have them back on top, much like Liverpool last season.
I’d usually brush these comments but not so sure these days. There’s a lot of money involved in professional sports & I would not be at all surprised if any sport is rigged.
Anyhow comrades, apologies for a bizarre post but with the world like it is, anything is possible. On a positive, summer time is rocking here in Oz, surfs not great but JetSki is pumping & life’s good. Take care all. Woohoo_____________________________

5th January 2021 at 8:46 am #173315Oz Yob, I just don’t believe for a second that would be possible at the highest level and with so many people involved. Sports that are played solo are easy to rig but it would be nigh on impossible to rig a match of 22 such rich and high-profile players. Let’s look at who would have to be in on it. Say it was rigged for City to win the league under Guardiola or Liverpool under Klopp.
At the very least, every ref in the league would need to be in on it. That might give you a very slight advantage. Anything more than a slight advantage would be too easy to spot foul play and anything less wouldn’t be enough to guarantee anything. So, you’re then going to have to convince opponents of these teams to also be in on it. In other words, you’re saying players who earn tens of thousands of pounds every week are going to have to be bribed into risking their very priveleged position for a one-time payoff. Think of the work that’d need to go into convincing enough players and only one would need to blow the whistle for it all to collapse.
For a league to be rigged to the point that a team like Leicester win the league is just not feasible.
