I’ve known Sean for years and he’s completely unbiased and always tells it how he sees it even if is detrimental to his own team at times.
One of the most honest most decent posters you will find on any Football Forum.

Of course as they were against City as I admit not to seeing all Leicester games. But they do also have a cheating diver. Vardy. Hence the number of penalties, free kicks etc. I have no love for Leicester I can assure you._____________________________

2nd January 2021 at 2:41 pm #173126Nine. I echo that about Sean. We often disagree when it concerns our teams but that’s the nature of football. The only question is who is the more biased? Him or me! Close but probably me. He is a great poster and invariably talks a great deal of sense….that is apart from when watching the 10meter board event starring Mane and Salah! Friends of Tom Daley perhaps?

2nd January 2021 at 2:46 pm #173127Nine. No we are not for sure and I hate it. Truly. Sterling is one who goes over too easily but he needs some lessons from Mr Vardy who is more successful at it. Sterling is too obvious and fails to get penalties when he Is actually fouled.
But really I hate it whichever the team including us.

2nd January 2021 at 3:20 pm #173128I`m glad Im not the only one thinking that pen on Pogba never was a pen,he got his long legs tangled and fell.Match fixing/money laundering, par excellance.I never expect 9s to aknowledge or admitit, cos he is a saint, but the rest should join me in admitting it,like Moos does it.Come on folks, its not that hard.

2nd January 2021 at 3:53 pm #173131Blaze, your point struck me on timing; crucial times. There isn’t any conspiracy thinking from my point of view, but it was an observation and they’re getting late goals.
It’s a great run of late, but it’s also a serious level of threat too.

2nd January 2021 at 4:07 pm #173132Mav, I’m not sure why the Pogba penalty has been blown up like it has.
It was almost a replica of the Arsenal penalty against Chelsea and both of them were 50/50 imo and could have gone either way in both I think Oliver should have referred to the pitch side monitor before confirming his decisions either way.
Just to clarify I’m not sure it was a penalty but that just my opinion as I said in a previous post it would have been very difficult to judge the challenge just by the naked eye and be 100% sure.
This all feels like a stick to conveniently beat United with on here which seems more than a a little harsh to me because all Pogba did was to fall over under the defenders challenge which would have almost certainly happened no matter the player and no matter the Club involved.

As did Liverpool last season Nil, but yesterday the penalty was scored in the 61st minute so hardly a late goal and all games last 90 minutes plus injury time.

2nd January 2021 at 4:19 pm #173137One just has to look @ it closely, and see that it was actually Pogba pushing his hand against Luiz-no chance it was a pen in a million years.

2nd January 2021 at 4:22 pm #173138The Mail article is spot on Mav which is why I said Oliver should have referred to the pichside monitor that it was a 50/50 decision that was very difficult to judge purely by the naked eye.
Nobody made this fuss over the Arsenal penalty last week though.π

2nd January 2021 at 4:45 pm #173144I think Oliver should have checked the pitch side monitors for both the Arsenal penalty and the United penalty to give himself the best chance of making the right decision but for some reason it seems that currently very few Referee’s do seemingly because their hands are tied in doing so by the PGMOL.
Imo Michael Oliver is a very good referee which is seemingly why he is consistently on UEFA’s list.

2nd January 2021 at 4:51 pm #173145“My view was it was a penalty from where I was stood.
“I thought Douglas Luiz got too tight with Paul Pogba but then I’ve just gone in and seen it back and I think he’s just tripped himself up.
“I think there’s enough doubt there to send the referee over to the screen.”
The perfect summary by Dean Smith imo.
