Hope your Job stays safe HH. My Dad’s company is like Ghost-town. All the terms and conditions changing and it’s not good. Fortunately for him, he has 1 more year before he qualifies for retirement.
The High-street will barely exist I think is the near and bleak future. John Lewis announcing more Store Closures. The Business Rates need to be abolished. How can the Government expect Business to stay afloat if there’s practically zero footfall and trade?

The uk government are doing a good job now. Flying along with the vaccines and a road map going forward. Positivity while over here itβs just negative bullshit
They havenβt a breeze our government..they are scaring the people. We are staying in full lockdown for another 9 weeks

22nd February 2021 at 12:59 pm #175814Chin up Andy. Do you fancy a socially distanced walk along the loop-line, kick a few leaves and a have a good chat? I’m sure it falls into the ‘exercising outdoors with a member of another household’ category.
It’s good to talk
Call me if you do._____________________________

22nd February 2021 at 2:43 pm #175815Hightown, apologies if you think I was being “disingenuous” that wasn’t my intention at all it was just a throw away remark and seemingly a poor attempt at a bit of humour.
The point I was trying to make was on the back of a wonderful PL season by Liverpool last season and winning the title by a mile my thought was you and the vast majority of Liverpool fans would have been feeling a lot more positive this time last year.
Turning to your personal situation I’m very sorry to hear you’re having a hard time particularly on the job front which must be a massive worry for you and the family I truly hope that when this pandemic turns itself around your job will be safe, these are worrying times for all and all of our lives have been massively affected.
Like Stevo I can relate to how you’re missing the match day situation similarly I’ve been going to Stamford Bridge every other week for more than 50 years and been a season ticket holder for over 25 of those years sadly I haven’t been to the Bridge since 2017 due to my illness and I’ve had to come to terms with the fact that I probably won’t go through the Stamford Bridge gates again so I completely get where you are coming from.
How this pandemic affects us all individually differs from case to case I’m suffering from an incurable life threatening illness which I have to manage mentally day to day but due to the pandemic it means I haven’t been able to go out anywhere since the lockdown other than to walk the dogs in the open air I massively miss my Son’s and Grandsons we were due to all get together as a family at Christmas but the week before Christmas I had to have a week of treatment in the hospital and the side effects of that meant I wasn’t fit enough to spend Christmas with them all of which has been very tough.
With my illness it not only that it effects myself but the whole family too especially my Wife and with the strain of now being under a 2 month watch and having to deal with any news that might come out of the bi monthly Consultations with my Specialist.
With all of my health problems my Wife has also had to deal with the loss of a much loved cousin from the Corona Virus too which hit her very hard.
I’m in God and my Consultant’s hands with my illness but I’ve got great faith in both and I know there’s not a better team to have on my side.
I try to file my illness away and keep it at the very back of my mind which is the only way I can deal with it but my heart aches for my Wife and all the pressures my illness puts on her.
I’ve found the best way I can cope is to thank God for all of the good things I have in my life
including a great Wife who forces me to look at the glass being half full and not half empty and remembering there are lots of people far worse off than me which has often been confirmed on my visits to the Hospital particularly when I think of the young ones.I wont get into VAR because we’ve got it and I can’t see it going away personally I’m grateful for the football on TV despite the negatives it lets me see all the Chelsea games as well as many others and despite the negatives of it and the fact it’s incomparable to a match day situation with everything that surrounds a live match day experience I still enjoy it.
I hope things turn around for you personally particularly job wise I’m sure you will get back to watching live football at Anfeld sooner rather than later I wish I could say the same re me being able to get back to the Bridge I do miss that dreadfully.
Stay safe, take care and all the very best on the job front. Cheers and Best Wishes. 9’s

22nd February 2021 at 3:00 pm #175817Nine…a nice post and gesture to clarify, which i doubt anybody took the wrong way. Your wife is a start, I am also a very lucky man in that respect.I do try and get other forms of motivation besides football, which has taken a chunk of my life, playing and as a spectator. When I have to stop playing the keyboards that will hurt more than my season ticket loss now.Live the day nine and take care
PS…do not forget the bunch of flowers for your wife, do not wait for mothers day!!!!_____________________________

22nd February 2021 at 3:20 pm #175819Ah, 9, that was a lovely post, and puts things in to perspective for me! I know that there are millions of people worse off than me, and I now feel guilty having a moan!! I think I just had a ‘moment’ yesterday when everything got on top of me. My wife, who also works in the hospitality trade got made redundant last week, the VAR and the football generally over the weekend and I just needed a vent!
Gary – I would love to kick some leaves around the loop Line. Back end of the week maybe? I’ll give you a call

22nd February 2021 at 4:06 pm #175822Aw nines you made me well up π
I think itβs so be easy on line to forget all the likely hardships many face during lockdown and all that comes with that
Itβs why I get a bit prickly with all the doom and gloom over silly football matches
Bloody good chaps on the whole you lot π_____________________________

22nd February 2021 at 4:31 pm #175824Much appreciated Stevo and Brian. Good advice Brian re the flowers too.
The lesson for me has been that there are a lot more important things in life than football and getting seriously ill makes you reexamine what’s really important in life and it’s definitely not football.
So I’m with you whole heartedly Steve on all the doom and gloom about losing a football game and dropping down the PL for all our Clubs bar City.π

22nd February 2021 at 4:37 pm #175826Hightown, really sorry to hear about your wife losing her job.
Hopefully opportunities will open up in hospitality for her and for you with the changes announced in Parliament today and hopefully will lead to your job being taken out of furlough too.
Stay positive buddie the Pandemic is not going away just yet but there seems to be a bit of light at the end of the tunnel now. Cheers 9’s

22nd February 2021 at 4:47 pm #175827Letβs hope that the plan laid down today goes to plan, a few oddities though, grass roots outdoor sport to return on the 29/3, was hoping for the 27/3 which is a Saturday rather than a Monday.
On the flip side of that is the back to normal date of 21/6, that could be one hell of a party at Stonehenge…..Pagan

As with HH. There will definitely be a creation of new jobs or an increase from other sectors once we get through this Lockdown.

At least with no expectations it won’t feel too bad if we go out but football’s a funny game and we might suprise ourselves.
