That’s exactly my point too Mikus. City’s system is so much more interchangeable with any of their attacking players, whereas Liverpool’s isn’t as much.

24th March 2022 at 8:12 am #195130I think whoever wins the City v Liverpool game will probably go on to win the title such a big win at this stage of the season would give either side a huge boost in their quest for the title and whilst it won’t definitely be over for whoever loses it would be very tough to come back from.

24th March 2022 at 8:17 am #195132Mikus, Liverpool’s front 5 players are incredibly strong probably the best in Europe and they can almost perm any 3 from 5.
Diaz could be the signing that wine Liverpool the title bringing him in in January was a masterstroke.

24th March 2022 at 12:53 pm #195133I know 9 but I think after Chelsea game in jan we were 14 points behind with two games in hand so you could say it was 8 points in jan?
Everyone thought the league was won in jan in anyway. I certainly thought it was over so did Neville, carragher etc. we have done really well getting back into the race but dropping leads before Christmas with Brighton , at Chelsea etc will cost us
City are in prim control. Hard to past them winning it. We really have to win there and win every other game. That would mean 18 straight wins including previous 9 we have won . Nearly impossible

24th March 2022 at 2:46 pm #195134Sean, I was responding to Nil’s post which included the PL table of 10/2 which showed Liverpool 12 points behind with 2 games in hand. Credit to Liverpool they won the 2 games in hand and have continued to win and with City dropping points v Spurs and v Palace Liverpool have done amazingly well to keep winning reducing the defecit to 1 point.
The PL is too close to call now imo but because of the one point difference, the game between City and Liverpool being at the Etihad, and City having what seems like the easier run in City remain favourites.
But I wouldn’t put any money on either of them as I can’t decide where the title might be going although I think whoever wins at the Etihad will probably go on to win it. Cheers 9’s

24th March 2022 at 5:27 pm #195141Lol, I think the FA and the other parties involved included Television broadcasters need a Zoom meeting and come up with a final plan, fast! 😀

24th March 2022 at 5:30 pm #195142Sean, at 12:53pm; good post mate. Agree with everything albeit your last paragraph.
Though I would say the general consensus will be a huge psychological boost if they emphatically beat Liverpool when it’s the showdown. Personally, I’d be happy even if we drew there because I believe there’s further twists.

25th March 2022 at 8:33 am #195146Nine, I hope they affirm the dates by this weekend or sooner for both semi-finals. It would be nice to know which is going to be played on what day. People then can start planning around it.
I’m led to believe so far Man City have gone out of their way in terms of organizing transportation for their fans ala coaches. Hopefully too, the cost isn’t too high.

25th March 2022 at 4:05 pm #195148“The FA will charter 100 buses from Anfield and the Etihad Stadium, respectively, to Wembley Stadium and back. This will ensure that up to 5,000 Liverpool and Manchester City supporters will be able to travel to Wembley Stadium free of charge for their semi-final tie.”
Good gesture by the FA.

25th March 2022 at 8:39 pm #195149Nine, overall I am very pleased, especially with the gesture from the FA.
It really makes a change to come across news that’s positive and giving something to the fans under the circumstances.

26th March 2022 at 8:28 am #195150With the above in mind, there potential downside to this however as far as practicalities go is the length of time on the roads and the kaos due to the congestion. Easter too. Another headache unfortunately lies.
