6th January 2019 at 7:31 pm #30954Hudson Odoi showed yesterday he’s worth every penny of £40m.
Hopefully Chelsea manage to hang on to him I thought his interview yesterday was very grown up and didn’t sound like a player looking to leave but it’s chicken and egg he wants to play regularly at 18 and if Chelsea don’t play him regularly he won’t sign the new contract and offer which will force Chelsea to sell him which will be a great shame given he’s been nurtured at the Club since aged 8.
4 Chelsea Youth team players started the game yesterday. I would play Hudson Odoi v Spurs on Tuesday night.

6th January 2019 at 7:58 pm #30959Thoroughly enjoyed that cup tie on the BBC. Just felt it was going to be Newport’s day and their Giantkilling was fully deserved.
If you don’t respect the competition not the opposition then you will pay the price.
Wins in the league recently unexpectedly against Man City Chelsea and Everton doesn’t paper the other question marks and neither the Manager’s own position.
Really liked Newport’s first. Just a lovely cross in and every Striker’s joy to get on the end of it.
Hope they get a decent tie away from home that will help them finally and progress into the next round.?

6th January 2019 at 8:06 pm #30962Be interested to hear the Liverpool posters on here views of the FA Cup in relation to them this season.
Obviously it’s still a prestigious trophy but would falling out of it early and falling out of the CL v Bayern not be in Liverpool’s best interests re their PL title ambitions or should they go for everything and play a strong team v Wolves etc etc.
Personally I would say go for everything because you can’t pick and choose what you win and see where it takes you even though fighting on three fronts might be difficult.

6th January 2019 at 8:10 pm #30964There was pressure on Puel previously and he chose a weakened team v City in the League Cup prior to the Chelsea game which may have cost Leicester the chance to progress. Is he under even more pressure now and might we see a change in Manager?

6th January 2019 at 8:15 pm #30965Nine, was at work yesterday speaking about this.
Your last Para is spot on alluding to the dangers of laying all eggs in one basket as they say.
I do love the FA Cup. For Liverpool essentially this term it’s to home in on Silverware. There’s been none since 2012 and we’ve been on the wrong end quite a fair bit be it any Cup Final and The League Title.
In the same breath if it paves a blessing to be knocked out of the CL early doors then I’ll take that and see through the remaining journey of the domestic to finally end our 29 year wait.
An FA Cup with that would be even sweeter
Cheers ?

6th January 2019 at 8:24 pm #30967Nil, I wouldn’t rule out a Liverpool League and Cup double this season mate. Wolves away if Liverpool play a weakened team might be tricky though. But I agree shoot at all the targets and see what happens. Cheers 999

7th January 2019 at 12:50 pm #3097470 minutes from De Bruyne in a 7 nil City win yesterday.
De Bruyne could be like a new signing for City if he can put his injuries from this season behind him and have a major impact on City’s season from here?

7th January 2019 at 3:00 pm #30978A fantastic player and it is good to have him back. I am pleased Pep is managing this return well and also giving David Silva and Fernaniho a rest as well

7th January 2019 at 5:56 pm #30994Nine, I think it’s a very difficult one for Liverpool now, but they may now have to go for it tonight to regain momentum and a belief in themselves. If people disagree and think that the cup could harm our league chances then the biggest thing that has harmed our league chances is the recent loss to City. I think that result has been underestimated by many in the media, and whilst it still looks like a different more title winning Liverpool this season, it has still failed to be ruthless in many of the big games this season – particularly the away games in both the league and CL (i.e. away to Napoli, PSG, Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal). And against this City team, it just can’t afford to do that. This lower energy football may be working for Klopp against the lesser sides, but it ain’t working against the better sides. We have lost our frightening edge. The one key area in which we beat City several times last year was our momentum and fight – we can’t lose that this season in the trade off vs lower energy football and there are times as I say where we have lost it and the results have unsurprisingly followed suit.
Also in the 2011/2012 season, City were just 3 points clear of Man Utd at this stage and we all know how that season ended.

7th January 2019 at 6:58 pm #31000Mignolet, Camacho, Lovren, Fabinho, Morenho, Milner, Keita, Jones, Shaquiri, Sturridge, Origi.
He’s mixed it up as I suspected which is absolutely understandable. Hope though that we avoid a replay and we see off the job in this one visit.
Be a tough tie and never to take Wolves lightly.
