Do like the FA Cup, regardless of what Poncho says, and would love to win it as my earliest memories of footy in general are the early eighties and us Spuds didn’t too to badly then!!
Any upsets on the cards? Could be, that is the one good thing about the “big-dogs” playing weakened teams against the underdogs, really hard to guess what is going to happen. Could be a banana skin against Tranmere, you never know, right now the Spuds have a bit of an injury list so I see a possible stronger team than you might expect playing… or it really will be the kids playing…

4th January 2019 at 5:41 pm #30876Glad to have the FA Cup back.
Hope our lot take it seriously this year – we’re not playing till Monday though and it’s on the BBC 😀

4th January 2019 at 7:52 pm #30899Okay, Tranmere’s #5 is meant to be ‘only’ 35, if he’s 35 then I’m 12, and I’m really 46… he’s had a tough life, poor lamb!

4th January 2019 at 8:31 pm #30905AnonymousLiverpool should use this as an opportunity to rest Firmino, Van Dijk and Robertson and maybe 1-2 others. If we don’t take the piss, we can rest a few and still go through. priority has to be the league though, so there is always a risk when you rest anyone. A risk we should take.

5th January 2019 at 1:09 pm #30927Long time but you’re right Adlab VAR came up with the right decision. I don’t think players from both Club’s should be surrounding the Referee whilst it’s being discussed with the Video Ref though that doesn’t happen in Rugby.

5th January 2019 at 3:08 pm #30930Not sure why United v Reading was on tv live – isn’t that 1,239,596 consecutive United FA Cup games shown live now? Surely Chelsea v Notts Forest or Derby v Southampton would have been a more attractive proposition.

5th January 2019 at 6:53 pm #30933I genuinely love the FA Cup, but was at work today and I just think there’s too many games scattered all over the weekend to be able to keep tabs on.
Would have liked my lot to have played live today, but got to now wait till Monday.

5th January 2019 at 7:23 pm #30934Newbalance you are correct. Much of the interest goes as the games are so spread out. One loses interest.
