I think Klopp is up there with Ferguson in terms of instilling that grit and having the bravery to go for games and making the right changes.

7th January 2024 at 6:42 pm #211851Arsenal will be kicking themselves over that one, though I guess theyβd probably miss that attempt too.

7th January 2024 at 6:45 pm #211852Lol, I’m sure we played a low block and brought a Bus. Playing around to one side, Mikus, agree fully about grit and guts too that’s needed over 90 mins.
For me, it’s the fact that we kept our composure throughout. I do like Gravenberch in the middle, but I don’t think Macca likes a number 6 role and would prefer to be a more conventional midfielder although we have already Zobo.

7th January 2024 at 6:46 pm #211853I’m guessing the draw is tomorrow. Please don’t give us Man City away.

7th January 2024 at 6:51 pm #211854It is indeed. Fuck it, give us Man City. If we can play them earlier in the season rather than in the semi-final or so when we’ll be tired….

7th January 2024 at 6:52 pm #211855Need to wrap Jota in cotton wool this month. He really does give us another dynamic. I remember a few seasons ago when we lost all those games at home and much of the focus was on the then makeshift defence using midfielders. But I think that period also coincided with Jota being out.

7th January 2024 at 7:02 pm #211856Mikus, at Wolves, Jota and Neves worked brilliantly. It’s a shame Wolves wouldn’t sell to us, or whether or not pursued an actual interest, but he would have fitted in with us. Jota’s a good technical player with a lot of ability.
We do need to wrap him up. Salah won’t be back for a while. So glad we avoided a replay and can maintain our plan for Winter Break. We just need to get through this month and we don’t have in fairness any real hard opposition.
In Feb we should get back Bajectic, Robertson and Thiago.

8th January 2024 at 10:03 pm #211892Poor that from Bruno for the pen. Don’t like to see that. He gets clipped but no way he should be going down like that. I think VAR overturns that.

9th January 2024 at 8:35 am #211894soft pen, but I disagree that VAR would overturn that one Ed. Clear contact, seen them given for less. VAR wouldn’t give it if the ref didn’t, but once the ref say’s it’s a pen what would VAR say otherwise?

9th January 2024 at 8:59 am #211895Yeah, Ed, I agree with Alfie’s assessment of that penalty. There is no way VAR would have overturned that, whatever the ref’s decision had been. There was enough contact to instill an element of doubt either way…it certainly wasn’t a clear and obvious error. Though, frankly, nothing VAR does now surprises me!

25th January 2024 at 9:44 am #212153Round 4 upon us… with a game on a Thrusday… would think the Cherries will have enough there…
Of course, tomorrow night is the big one, Inside Traders vs Slave Traders… (had to do it!) with another all Prem tie going on in West London…. don’t know why they’re playing arguably the 2 “Showtime” ties at the same time but what do I know…

25th January 2024 at 10:26 am #212156I am looking forward to this tomorrow night. Tottenham’s on Terrestrial Tv. I just hope the coverage doesn’t take shape where there’s just focus on De Bruyne.
Some other ties too Friday Night, so should be good. FA Cup Weekend, and then back to Prem straight after π

26th January 2024 at 7:46 pm #212215Chucks holding out until actual Kick Off. Adverts and Chat Chat Chat, I tire mate.
Hojbjerg a big yes, but why no Maddison in starting? Kovacic partnering Rodri.
Hope Richarlison and Kula fly the flag. Son no doubt missed, but All The Best for Tonight.
