Wrong system the draw should be seeded noone is going to watch a Barnet vs Newport final, it will be a finincial disaster for one reason, sponsorship and other attractions will blow out the window. You have 2 of the top 4 clubs in the country facing each other and we still have 32 teams left, once again another badly managed competition.

Totally disagree Moos, start rigging the system for the big dogs and that would be the final nail in the coffin for me. To be honest, if my team weren’t involved, I’m far more likely to watch Barnet vs Newport in the final than I am for example Liverpool vs Arsenal…. that’s the whole glory of the cup right there!

But Chucky, Spurs fans are exactly the same talking about players and managers from smaller clubs too. Spurs fans are quite happy talking about how they’ll get Howe in if Poch goes. How do you think Bournemouth fans feel about that. Don’t pretend you’re not part of the same food chain as us. We’re all part of it. As Alfie pointed out, we always have players linked elsewhere too.

But the thing is Steady Eddy, I’m a football fan and we’re all hypocrites. Don’t give a monkeys about Bournemouth… it’s all about knocking those cockwomble teams above off their noddle sponsored perch! You should know that by now!

As for Maureen, the majority of us thought he was a complete prat and perfect for YooUtd. Not going to say we praised him, but I reckon the majority of us were sad to see him leave! We loved what he was doing at YooUtd!! 🙂

Ed, Mourinho had the media and fans praising his deflection techniques especially in his Chelsea days. They play bad, he makes the story about him not his players. Same as what Poch has done now.

In a time long before Man Utd, Mourinho was, unbelievably I know, liked and respected by some. And he did ok by all accounts.

Interestingly Poch said he couldn’t sleep after Chelsea knocked Spurs out of the League Cup which is inconsistent with his I don’t care aboutbthe Cups which fits perfectly into threeps theory.

So why the angst by some on here over the comments which point out that Poch is wrong to suggest winning trophies is bad? Surely if you disagree with Poch yourself you’d be in line with those who also disagree with Poch?

United are the biggest Club in England and one of the biggest Club’s in the World most players will be attracted to playing for United if they are offered the chance but I’m not sure what who does and doesn’t want to play for United had got do with the price of eggs.?

I think the “ego” line after the fa cup loss was basically Poch saying “look, the cups are a bonus, but we ain’t going to compromise the league for them.”

I think the “couldn’t sleep after the Chelsea game” line was understandable – even if you don’t particularly value cups you’re still going to go for it if you find yourself on the cusp of a final. And if you lose on penalties it’s a very difficult one to take and that is going to keep you awake at night. So I think both these positions can be consistent with each other in this context.

What a lot of this does demonstrate though is the increasing gulf between the objectives of an owner vs the objectives of the fans.

Not in my house goldie, and I’m not even denying it outside my house either, simply saying this egotistical (funny how spell check said testicle) attitude that everybody will crawl through broken glass for the “pleasure” of pulling on that red rag… if it was that bloody good, why are the paying Dirty Sanchez half a million quid a week? Surely, being so special and all that, he’d be doing it for free, right? 🙂
