7th January 2023 at 8:35 pm #202395Clearly, our midfield is our short fall. It doesn’t matter how many attacking players we sign and how many attacking players we field!

7th January 2023 at 9:42 pm #202404I’m not sure how he was offside. We’re saved, but we don’t deserve to be. Rubbish!

7th January 2023 at 9:47 pm #202407Iβm not sure how he was offside.
I’d expect most football fans are.We need to get the referee and the Var people miked up so we can here them discuss it.Like Cricket and Rugby.Imho Livarpool have benefited from both decisions tonight

7th January 2023 at 9:55 pm #202409Defender: I had to play the ball because I didnβt know if the player was onside or offside when the pass was made.
Referee: Well he was offside, both when the pass was initially played and when you played the ball, but none of it counts because you played the ball.
Defender: So if I donβt play the ball the attacker would will be offside?
Referee: Not always, because the linesmen is instructed not to put up his flag so VAR can work out if a player is offside in each phase of play.
Defender: But isnβt the attacker gaining an advantage and affecting play by being offside, regardless of whether I touch the ball intentionally, or the phase of play?
Referee: Not necessarily. You can take an action that allows him to legally gain an advantage from his offside position.
Defender: So how do I know when I should and shouldnβt play a ball (take action) played in to our final third, so as to avoid allowing an attacker to legally gain an advantage?
Referee: Are you familiar with astrology?

7th January 2023 at 9:55 pm #202410Salahs goal was given i think because as soon as the wolves player touched it intentionally it was a new phase of play now being the goal one. The previous phase is not considered. As you know you can’t be offside from an opposition intentional touch. This I think is by the rules but it seems wrong as the defender wouldn’t have touched it if Salah wasn’t offside in the first place.
Wolves goal offside from the pass back to the wolves corner taker? No VAR that could check that so went with the on field decision. The scorer was never offside.
