9th January 2023 at 9:19 am #202601Ed, the acceptance of Jose and conte, to be fair, is consistent with banjos professed love of cocks π

9th January 2023 at 9:35 am #202604No truth in the Villa rumors… he was playing golf at the Belfry or something… sorry your hopes got up higher than a Harry Kane penalty!

9th January 2023 at 9:37 am #202605I actually really rate Maguire Lucky. He was easily amongst the best CBs at the last two International tournaments. His problem at Utd is just that he doesn’t fit the desired style. In a side who play a bit deeper I think he’d thrive. Conte has spoken very glowing of him in the past and I think he’d be great for Spurs. Genuinely think he’d be perfect for them.

9th January 2023 at 9:39 am #202606He certainly looks better in a back 3 than a back 2, that’s for sure, and he would be an upgrade on Davies no doubt, but for the sort of money YooUtd would most likely want for him, I think there are better options in the market…

9th January 2023 at 9:41 am #202607In a back 3 with low block under conte he would probably do well yeah.
And yeah he does much better for England too π

9th January 2023 at 10:00 am #202608Chucky, I don’t think Utd would be expecting much more than say Β£40mil at a guess. I’m not sure who else there is out there who is proven at this level and in this league who you’d get for less than that.

9th January 2023 at 10:03 am #202609In fact, here’s a thought. We could swap Harrys π

9th January 2023 at 10:22 am #202610Harry Winks, I assume? Ordering the Uber now…
As for 40 mil ‘who’s better’ comment, there’s Skrinier, De Virj (both out of contract in the summer and possibly/probably avialable for a lot less than 40 mil!) and this Bastoni fella that Conte/Paratici seem to like who’s about 5 years younger and ‘rated’ around the 50/60 mark… I’d take any one of those 3 over Tugboat.

9th January 2023 at 11:04 am #202611Morning all
I thought that what the best we played yesterday since we put Man Utd to the sword.Hopefully more of the same at the weekend.Chelsea fans made it a great cup tie atmosphere
also.I was impressed with Humphreys the young centre half and again with Zakaria when he came on.Not sure about what Mount and Havertz never a CF bring to the table atm ? (Lucky Nine you watch them more than me?)
How good was Foden’s team goal ? Fantasy football for me π
Respect to you Lucky.Great posts re Potter π Of all the signings Chelsea have made. How many have been by GP?

9th January 2023 at 11:34 am #202613Mount and havetz are well below what is required of them. Mount did have a knock midweek but to be honest it’s like I always find an excuse for him because he is academy player and I really want him to become a top player.
He has yet to agree new contract, presumably down to wages and he is seeking parity with top earners. He needs to prove his value on the field.
His numbers by season to date are good for his age but its like the growth has started to level out.
We will see but he is nowhere near as consistent as someone like James or silva

9th January 2023 at 11:39 am #202614Why arenβt utilising auba?
Did you get the version we got rid of rather than the version barca sold? πIt is odd when you canβt score and he is one of the few actual strikers that you have
Very odd even if he was a tuchel buy

9th January 2023 at 11:52 am #202615Stevo he is awful plain and simple and just cashing in at Chelsea no desire shown qt all from him.
Ridiculous that tuchel insisted on him.

9th January 2023 at 12:11 pm #202616Talking about Auba (in terms of how he just went from great to rubbish in no time), Besiktas are looking to cancel Dele Alli’s loan. He’s not even good enough for Besiktas any longer. What on earth happened to Alli? Such a bizarre fall from grace.

9th January 2023 at 12:22 pm #202618Would be hilarious if it wasn’t so sad… biggest fall from grace I can remember… did read something a while back highlighting how his form/stats fell off a cliff the moment Erickson left the cocks… which seems about right… a real shame anyway you look at it, he was musturd for a few years!

Maybe Chucky. De Vrij doesn’t get into the Netherlands team does he? Skriniar does look good but there’s likely to be a lot of competition for him if he’s free, not to mention extortionate wages. Also, I’d personally be very wary about judging players from Serie A performances from now on. Koulibaly has looked like a world beater over there, as has Lukaku. No doubt Pogba will rip it up when he’s free from injury too.
If both Skriniar and De Vrij might be free, though, then yeah they certainly look better value than Maguire for money on paper. Don’t particularly want Maguire to go to Spurs anyway as I think he makes you stronger and nobody wants that.
Thoughts on Kane? Will Levy let him go into his final 12 months? We’re going to be in the same boat with Rashford. I’d always try to sell anyone if they don’t extend with 12 months or less to go.

9th January 2023 at 12:26 pm #202620Yeah I’m struggling to think of a bigger fall from grace. He really has gone from being probably club and country’s first pick to nobody wanting him at still only 26. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if he retires early.
