I don’t think United should be too hard on themselves. Close Scoreline and United got one of the calls on handball. Gundogen really is a great humble guy. That was also a resemblance to Chelsea’s Robbie De Matteo whereby he was a stand out in 1997.
What I would stress is that United stick with Ten-Hag and give him time to address certain playing positions. Looks to me that Man City have reached peak and this is the time and opportunity I feel is the best to finally win the Champions League.

4th June 2023 at 12:34 pm #207251Need to look at bringing in new officials and allow them time to establish themselves and build a reputation. I would have liked Michael Oliver for yesterday. Until then, we’re stuck with the likes of Paul Tierney and Anthony Taylor.

4th June 2023 at 12:41 pm #207252City get more pens than anyone Adlab π. This feeling that youβre always hard done by is laughable. I wouldnβt mind but you never have any numbers to back up your arguments. You seem to think Utd get every decision and City get none but youβve had more than 3x as many pens as us this season
Ed.Are these stats out there anywhere
Penalties given (for all teams)in the premier league era(by season) to the end of this season
I would suggest if you want to compair since Pep came in.Our’s have rocketed.Because we spend so much time in the oppositions box?

4th June 2023 at 1:14 pm #207257Paul, a quick google search showed that City had the most pens in the PL this season with 10.
Compare that to the top four;
Arsenal who have a similar style of play, possession stats and also are in and around the oppo box had 4.
Utd had 3 and Newcastle who roll around on the floor a lot as soon as someone goes near them were awarded 6.

4th June 2023 at 2:35 pm #207260Hi PPT. There are 12 of us going out (all got tickets) and making our way there in small groups on various routes. Myself, my Son and two of his mates are flying from Heathrow at 10:10 on Thursday evening, direct to Istanbul. We’ve got B&B at a city centre hotel, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights along with three others in our group. The other five are staying at a hotel about 5 mins walk from ours. Can’t wait.

4th June 2023 at 2:39 pm #207261Alfie – when United were the team to be awarded the most pens (a few years back), my Red mates informed me that if you spend the most time in the opponents box, then the law of averages states, your bound to get more penalties.

4th June 2023 at 2:55 pm #207263I donβt disagree, in principle. PPT wanted numbers to back the claims, so I gave them to him as he didnβt realise google did that sort of thing.
What is interesting though is the gulf between the top four. And who are second on the list, Fulham, West Ham and Brentford are joint second with 8.
Forest, Brighton and Leicester have 6. As do Spurs.
Utd are joint second from bottom, so maybe there is a more nuanced answer to it all.

4th June 2023 at 5:56 pm #207264I think every team has a coincidental turn in terms of most penalties given. Not necessary to go through all the history I’m sure we can all remember the different periods. It is what it is and what it was.

4th June 2023 at 7:14 pm #207265There just are variables to consider and so Rover I do agree with where you come from when findings put together and drawn out.
Teams mentioned factually that suggests it’s not just so-called big teams getting the decisions favourably, there of course is taken into account who’s Refereeing the games and whether VAR have done their job. Plus of course whether it’s an example of clear and obvious and interpretation of the type of incident incurred that’s led to a penalty or a case to raise to claim a penalty.

4th June 2023 at 8:06 pm #207266Gents (Man City), wish you guys well on those that have planned an actual trip and have made all the arrangements. Not a fan of Camera phones, but may I stress, ensure you take photos and video footage.
It is indeed living the dream. Years down the line, you’ll look back on this (hopefully with sheer joy), so grab the moment. Hopefully for your side, you win the Big One next Saturday. π

4th June 2023 at 8:53 pm #207267To clarify, my point with the penalties thing isn’t to point out any injustices on Utd’s part or suggest City get most decisions. It’s to completely debunk the ridiculous theory that Adlab seems to have that City are unlucky with refereeing decisions and that the whole world are against City and Utd somehow get away with things. As is always the case with his little rants, asking him to back them up with any numbers tends to put a stop to the rants and moans.

4th June 2023 at 8:55 pm #207268Ppt, yeah I saw that guy with the Hillsborough top. Wants locking up and the key throwing away. Absolute scumbag.
Did you see this lot. Another bunch of scumbags. “Munich, Munich!”. What’s wrong with people?!
Another video of Manchester City fans from yesterday at Wembley.
Throwing bottles on to the tube when women and kids are there then chants of "Munich, Munich"
Stay classy @ManCity fans pic.twitter.com/xlawPofvhq

4th June 2023 at 10:16 pm #207269Apparently, that lettering and numbering was self-worked by that individual. Don’t know quite simply whether he is just a narcissist inciting hatred. The law really needs to throw the book on him. Why was he even allowed to enter the ground? He was treading on seriously dangerous territory the moment that shirt was displayed in public view.
Unforgiveable as with the coin/object throwing and chants referring to tragedies.
No place in our society at all.

5th June 2023 at 10:52 am #207273Agree entirely Ed, absolute “scumbags”.
My late-Dad was a Busby Babe in the 1950’s – played in two FA Youth Cup winning teams in 1954 and 1955 for United – he was pencilled in to fly out to Belgrade as part of the squad for that fateful away trip. However, Geoff Bent, the reserve full back passed a late fitness test before they departed and went in place of my Dad – sadly, Geoff was one of the players that lost his life – ‘There but for the grace of God’ eh?. Anyway as a result, I’ve never entertained such low life behaviour (chants about Munich, Hillsborough, Heysel, etc) and where safe to me, always tried to ‘educate’ individuals who resort to this._____________________________

5th June 2023 at 11:16 am #207275100% agree Ed & GJ.
Some of the people chanting this shite don’t even know former City goalkeeping
legend Frank Swift was one of those that perished in this horrific tragedy._____________________________
